Great place and great value”

We really enjoyed our stay at Baanyai. It had everything we needed and more. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to ensure we got to to where we needed to go. There is also a cafe attached which serves delicious food and drinks at local prices. Try the iced peanut butter latte! Although Baanyai isn't centrally located there is a BTS close by, which makes getting to where you need to go easy. Great place and great value.

Great Bargain in a Lovely & Common Neighborhood”

I had a great stay here. It's really an apartment in a quiet neighborhood in Bangkok. Personally, I enjoy leaving the well-traveled areas of Bangkok and finding little communities like the ones that are sleepily thriving in Wongwian Yai. Nearby, you'll find some very authentic markets. The food is much cheaper and often more delicious here. The people are surprised to see you, and quite friendly... The place itself is quite clean and modern. When I showed up at 9pm, I had to call the phone number on the sign. She promptly answered and let me in. The room is quite comfortable and very clean, with a flatscreen TV and a firm but comfortable bed. The balcony is spacious and looks out over the street and about 2000 electrical wires. :) The Wi-fi was out, which was a problem. The owner assured me this was an outage with True Online, and I believe her. In the morning, the downstairs serves as a coffee shop, and she makes a fabulous latte for only 35 baht. Prices are about 50% what they are in Sukhumvit, and you're only a short taxi from the BTS. I highly recommend this place if you want peaceful, quiet and authentic lodging.

Almost perfect... But cold showers!”

This place is almost perfect... Location is good (use the buses), facilities are great (cable TV at this rate), rooms are new and spotless, the owner is really nice and friendly. There is a great coffee shop attached to the hotel that serves great Western coffee and snacks (really affordable). In terms of food there are dozens of options within a 5 minute walk (including a whole local market). There is just one thing - there is no hot water in the bathroom! This isn't a big deal most of the year but at the time we stayed there the cold water made for a real unpleasant start of the day. Really puzzling that the rooms all have new TVs with cable but no hot water. One last tip, unless you do t mind street noise, opt for the rooms without a balcony as they're quieter. However the balcony makes for a great place to sit and sip on some beer and people watch in the evening!

Fantastic location”

Great stay, great staff, great location. Located in non-touristic area without tourist prices, tourist scams and other stuff you know from Khao San Road. You can be part of Bangkok everyday life and enjoy eating and shopping with locals. Not far from BTS. The owner is really nice and helpfull and speaks fluent English.

Good place far from the noisy Bangkok :)”

If you want to relax and find a place to sleep quietly in Bangkok this is the perfect place. Is near to the MRT station so all the main features in Bangkok are easily accessable. Room was clean and the toilet was fine, there is a laundry machine for just 20 bth each use. I will come back here for sure.

Great way to see real bangkok”

This wasn't near the normal tourist areas, so it was nice to see everyday life of bangkok. Great shopping around, street food and about 0.5 miles from the skytrain. In addition, it's family run, and they really take pride in their business and are super friendly. They also speak really good english, and had great recommendations for food to try around the area. Make sure to try the duck place around the corner - super cheap and tasty! I am sad we didn't have more time to stay in this place!

Proximity & Staff”

Apartment is actually very near BTS Wongwian Yai but because e motorcycle taxi did not know where exactly it is, we spent 80baht on the motorcycle taxi to reach the apartment. The cold water shower is alright as my child is used to taking cold water showers at swimming pools. We took the mini bus back to the BTS upon check out, which is around 15baht per person. Lots of food & hair salons at the railway station 10minutes walk away. Only issue was during check in and checkout, there was no one at the reception thus we had to wait and look for help.

A perfect score, if it weren't for...”

... no hot water! The staff member we dealt with was lovely, and her wee boy brought us out our breakfast at the attached cafe. Were delighted with the place, and it was great value for money. Everything we needed having just got into Bangkok, except for a hot shower!! You never know your luck in Thailand, and had we been staying longer we might have asked whether this was ordinarily the case or whether it was a maintenance issue, but with only a couple of nights it didn't bother us having cold showers too much.

Far from downtown but the price is cheap”

The front staff is very friendly and speaks good english. The apartment location is actually on the other side of the river opposite/away from Bangkok downtown so it is not very convenient if need to go to downtown. It takes about 10-15 minutes walk from the apartment to the nearest BTS train station, then from there the train will go to downtown about 15 minutes. The apartment is in a quiet neighbourhood, there is some local food market and pushcarts stores nearby, and a 7-11 store within 5 minutes walk. The room is very big actually, and clean, with new paint and new furniture when I stayed.

Easy to dine and do massage at local area!!”

It's about 10 min walk to Wangwian Yai Station then connecting u to other part of Bangkok. Clean room. But bit noisy especially early morning that the traffic will wake u up... As I don't use earplugs. Lovely and comfortable place in general. Nearby roundabout is a interesting place, with local doing exercise and other community gatherings. Food and massage places nearby for local are especially good.

Well appointed apartment close to commercial area”

Pleasant stay in well appointed apartment along main road. Easy access to shops and transport. Good wifi. Overall very convenient and great value.

Very satisfied”

It was really pleasant to stay there 4 nights. Located around the intersection in which many street foods, markets are available yet very close to the palace and the river, Khaosan road. We never paid more than 70 per trip. Room was clean and wifi worked well. There is also laundry place on 2nd floor which cost only 20 and self use.

The staff is very friendly and can speak English, there is a 7-11 downstairs, very convenient. There are some distance to get MRT station. The part that disappointing is there no hot water.
