Clean hotel with friendly staff”
Overall, we were pleased with our stay at Bach Dang. We were initially placed in a room where the hot water wasn't working. When we notified the front desk, they did get a technician up pretty fast to fix. However, it didn't resolve the issue, so they helped us switch rooms - one that had a better wifi connection as well. If you're concerned about wifi, ask to walk the hallways as the routers are placed in the corner of the ceiling so the rooms closest will have the best internet connection. We were pleased with the staff's level of attentiveness and that they moved us around pretty quick. The room itself leans towards an older room, however, the room feels clean, which was our #1 concern. The room itself is quite big -- we did check out a couple of other hotels that were right in the Hoi An ancient town, but ultimately stayed here because for the same price, the rooms were much smaller elsewhere. In terms of location, it is about a 5 min walk to the town; very close! We were surprised at how close it was. Also, it's about a 7-10 min walk from the bus station. We took a bus (yellow bus) from Da Nang to Hoi An (~45min), and it's terminal stop in Hoi An was pretty close to the hotel, as we just walked down a rather long block. While most hotels had bike rentals for $1/day or even for free, Bach Dang charged $2 and up. If you would like to rent a bike, rent it someplace closer to town -- it's cheaper. Bach Dang will allow you to keep a bike there overnight.

Excellent hotel for price - staff very helpfull”
great stay at Bach Dang, we got a very good online price with Agoda, a bit above our normal price as we are independent travellers (backpacking) but well worth it a we got a lovely big room, free wifi, swimming pool and great breakfast. we arrived at 8am and were able to get 2 of our 3 rooms immediately, the manager was there to meet us and offered us coffee and fruit on arrival, he was also very helpful with any questions we needed answering andd even suggested local bus instead of taxi telling us where to get it from and howmuch we should pay. The location of the hotel was great for Hoi An ttown, just a short walk away. 6 of us stayed in this hotel, we moved to a cheaper room after 3 days as we wanted to stay longer and our rooms where already booked up - the staff where great in facilitating this - about $5 less. Although these rooms where fine I would recommend paying the extra for a roomwith balcony. I highly recommend this hotel - stafff where all lovely.

Great for the price, helpful staff, great pool!”
My travelling buddy and I moved from a local homestay to the Bach Dang mainly because it was stinking hot and this hotel had a pool. And a really nice pool too! A short walk into Old Town it was in a good location, and set far enough back on the road that it was really quiet. The staff were really nice and quite helpful and helped organise a private car to Da Nang airport at a really good price. For the cost, this was a great hotel that had everything we needed!

I had a lovely stay at Bach Dang Hoi An Hotel. It was a short walk to the old city and less than 10 minute drive to the beach. The pool was AMAZING and they had a huge breakfast buffet. I was very happy with my stay and will surely be back.

We stayed at Bach Dang for 7 nights, two people with a child. We have no complaints at all. The staff were very helpful, the pool was great, the food was fine and the hotel was very clean. I would definately stay again!

Large hotel - large rooms”
The hotel is situated on the edge of Hoi An, but not so far that you need to catch a cab to the restaurants or sights. The hotel was an army barracks at one time and is huge. But it is beautifully maintained, clean and efficiently managed. The pool is fabulous! Close to 25 metres end to end and over 2 metres deep at the deep end. Ignore the sign on the wall though - it reads " No swimming without life jacket". There are full size hard rings from an ocean liner beside the pool just in case of emergency, though. Poolside towels always on hand. Bus depot for bus to Danang just 200 metres down the road. Hotel can provide bicycles for $2 per day - roads are not too busy to get out and explore. Nice loop ride to the beach and back through town - about 15km. Bikes not great if you are taller as seat height cannot be adjusted for anyone taller than the average Vietnamese but still fun.

Great place to be stranded”
We arrived here planning to stay 3 nights but couldn't get a plane, train or sleeper bus out so extended our stay too 6 nights. Hoi An is a lovely bright clean city/town and this hotel while on the edge of town is still only an interesting 10 minute walk to the old town. The rooms are spacious and clean, the lift is broken (and I suspect has been for sometime) but it's a large hotel and was easy to get a ground floor room. The pool and spa are lovely and we had it to ourselves most time. Breakfast was interesting, and got more interesting the more guests they had stay! The chef's breakfast soups have been some of the best we have eaten! We hired bikes for 4 days of our stay and rode kilometres-that was almost the best part of our stay! I got shoes and reading glasses made as we had the extra time.

the staff were terrific and friendly including the grounds/maintenance people, the hotel has lovely gardens and the swimming pool is great. it is out a little from the main part of hoi an but is in walking distance from the main hustle and bustle of the city. i enjoyed it thoroughly.

large room and reasonable price”
I stayed at this hotel for two days. I could feel relax in a large room and ample hot water in the bath room. Services are also very good. It is a little far away from the center of ancient Hoi An city, but good for taking a walk.

Great Deal Great Hotel”
We had a great deal from Agoda on this hotel. We had a suite with three beds and two rooms plus en suite, which suited us well. The room was cleaned everyday and free bottled water, coffee and tea replenished.Breakfast was a buffet with loads of variety and really good. The pool is really excellent, big and warm with poolside towels a bar and sun loungers. All the staff are very friendly and helpful in all parts of the hotel. It is about 10-15 minutes walk north from the old town (depending on how many times you stop to look at stuff on the way), a nice walk in the evening to go for dinner and easy to walk to from the bus station. We all really liked this hotel and would recommend it.

Perfect for the price”
We came to Hoi An with 2 young kids and found the hotel to be perfect for our needs. It's a relatively close walk to the old town and a 10 minute taxi to the beach. It's central location made it easy to go anywhere and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool was good and the kids loved playing in it before and after day trips. For the price you can't go wrong at this hotel.

Will look to stay here if I return to Hoi An it is very good value for money and although only 10 minutes walk from the markets its out of the tourist routes a bit. Lots of good eating places and interesting shops around.

A Soviet-style institution with dishonest staff”
We arrived late in the evening with a little baby and a lot of luggage and instead of getting a big and spacious deluxe room with a balcony that we have booked, we were placed in a shoe-box sized standard double. It was no one on the reception - only a night portier, so my husband had to call the receptionist and crave an explaination. Spending a half an hour on the phone arguing didn't help - the answer was: "Sorry, no free delux rooms left". Only when my husband went around knocking on every guest room door to check how many of them are really occupaid, all of the sudden they've found a free delux room, - exactly the one we've booked. In the end of our stay we asked the reception girls to book us bus tickets of Puong Thrang bus company as this is the best bus company in Vietnam and we new how comfortable and reliable they were. But - no, it wasn't possible... Puong Thrang doesn't do the hotel pick up in Hoi An, - the girls said, and strongly adviced us to buy tickets for a different bus that they were raving about. It turned out to be a disgustingly dirty old and stinky bus that looked more like a regular public bus that transports people on the country side from village to village. It was difficult to believe it was going to make a 5 hours drive... Later on we found out that the whole thing was a complete lie and Puong Thrang did do the hotel pick ups in Hoi An, - all of it was just a question of commision. In general - there are many better hotels in town for the same price with better athmospere and much better value. Definatelly I can't mention a single reason to choose this one.

A spacious hotel with excellent service.”
access to the city was not a problem with a short 10 minutes walk or a taxi (fare 20,000d). the well-tendered garden settings, spacious clean rooms, wide verandahs, peaceful large outdoor pool setting, excellent buffet breakfast and helpful staff with good english language made this stay enjoyable. this is a well-managed hotel, which i would highly recommend.

Loved every minute of it. Because acquainted with one of the restaurant waiters, Binh, who offered to take me on a tour of the city after his work, and he did as prompt as prompt can be. Very impressed with the entire staff of the hotel. Even rented a bicycle to peddle to the beach from the hotel, wonderful experience.

5 nights at Back Dang”
This is an aging hotel that could do with some refurbishment. Nonetheless, it's decent value for the money. Breakfast was adequate and the place is clean. If I have one complaint it's that the bed was a bit hard for my liking. The location is okay, depending on what you want. Everyting is within easy reach and the old section of town is only a 5 to 10 minute stroll

Decent hotel in good location”
The hotel originally didn't have our booked room available, so they upgraded us and let us keep that room for two days. Buying cold beers from the front desk was an adventure as it isn't a standard in southeast Asia. Location was a bit far of a walk from the Old City, but easy to motorcycle to within 2-5 minutes.

good pool, large room but a little bit old”
Stayed in family room for 3 nights. I tried to check in around 1:30 a.m. due to awful delay of my flight but there was nobody speaking english at that time. However, most staffs were kind and helping. Room is very spacious but is very old and lacks some furniture. Closet was too old and the safe was not working. The location is not far from the old town, food is good including room services, and the pool is recommendable even though some sunbeds need repair. Regarding the price, it was okay to stay but I don't have a plan to book this hotel again. It is just a normal 3-star hotel, literally.
