I really enjoyed my stay here at the Asian Guest House Border Nago. You WILL need a car to get to this location and keen eyes. The house is located up in the northern part of the main island of Okinawa. The owner is a great and interesting guy, please take your time to talk with him. I stayed in the dormitory area which he built, by himself, on the side of the house. It's not exactly perfect, but it's his style which is why I enjoyed it very much. I appreciate things that are made with heart, and the way he designed most of the hostel, and the dormitory area, shows his heart. All in all, the whole area is just a nice get away from the city. The location of the hostel is also 15-20 minutes away from two popular islands, which you can drive to, that has beautiful beaches. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Great Place to Stay”
Great Nao was an awesome host. The house was quiet and peaceful. Great view and chill vibes. I got what I expected for the amount I paid but I was surprised with the additional accommodations. A kitchen including fridge, the laundry room and well equipped bathrooms. I would recommend a stay here if you are stay one night or a couple nights in Nago!

I had a great stay at Border. Nao & co do their best to make you feel comfortable and are good to ask for help with your travel. Cool bunk 'rooms' in the male dorm, which are nice and private, but can be a little cold in the winter time! Nearby to some lovely views such as Kouri island and the island bridges etc. I would recommend cycling around this area.

location is perfect to be calm down and feel ocean. There is also bus stop jut in front of the guest house and a convenience store about 5min walk. All facilities are enough clean and bed space has private. I could stay comfortable and nicely relaxed.

I had a good time here! Its cheap but very nice. Big terasse with nice inventory and the dormotory was very quite because you have kind of capsules but made out of bamboomatts. There is not much around here and its better if you have a car but i rented a bike and hitchhiked so it was ok. The owner gave me good tips where to go and with his help a good find a hidden waterfall and did some rivertrekking before. Very memorable moment of my trip! The owner "Nao" is a really relaxed and friendly guy who played the guitar sometimes while we drank some Awamori ( okinawa alcohol ) and had nice talks. The kitchen can be used all the time for free which was really nice! Thanks for the nice stay Nao!

Very friendly guests”
I am a solo traveler cycling around Okinawa. Because of the typhoon, I stayed there for 2 nights. It was lucky to meet interesting people. We spent hours to chill out in the common room for the first night. My Jap is basic. One of the Japanese is very patient to translate for me. We were just like friends who knew for years. In the second day, we spent the time to watch the weather news and listen to music. The place have a good collection of music that allow us to play. Overall, the place is neat and value for money. Recommended to have some knowledge in Japanese so that can communicate deeper with others.

Exactly what I was expecting”
I felt right at home with the very friendly and attentive care by Nao, tne manager (you might hear him play the guitar too if not too busy), and it was fun to meet so many different Japanese people all open to share and help. Yuki spent 1 hour with me getting me some info i needed to visit near islands, checking her computer, texting friends, ....Tomi accompanied me to a couple of beaches, and when I was worried that I would wake my roommates, Ayumi and Ayona joined me at 4am to see the sunrise.....

we wanna experience staying in a local japanese guest house and that why we booked. it is tidy but felt itchy when sleeping, can't tell it is bed bug or mosquitoes. close the beaches, not far from from aquarium if u are driving there. the owner is nice.

I stayed for 6 nights. The dormitory beds are not just common bunk bed, it is very uniquley made and it gives one a private space even it is a dormitory. The interior design was also very nice I could see the owner's effort everywhere. Cleanliness is almost perfect. You can feel the owner's neat character. The terrace is one of the best thing in the guesthouse. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here.

the guest house operator smoke frequently. i smelled 2nd hand smoke all along the corridor. i booked a double room but the window outside is a big balcony that has a bed lying a couple talking all night!!! not recommended

The aircon is not free and the place is really difficult to reach from Naha without any car. The atmosphere is the house is good and the tenant is nice.

Would be accessible if on drives, as it is located near the.ocean.shore, no public transport nearby. But because of that, it was a great place to relax close to the ocean. The guesthouse is very new, AMD decor was wonderful. Highly recommended if u like surroundings close to nature and drives.

It's located in a small village. You have to get all you need on the route 58. The guesthouse is very casual and fun, great for a group of friends to gather. With a small 太陽の塔 in the kitchen!
