Dear Hotel Management Team, I would like to share feedback regarding my recent stay, specifically involving two interactions with a male front desk staff member. During my stay, I required assistance because my keycard had been left in the shower area, making it impossible for me to access my room or leave without help. When I approached the reception, the staff member stated that he was “unavailable.” At that time, there were no other staff members present who could assist me. While assistance was eventually provided, the interaction felt dismissive and uncomfortable due to visible irritation, including an exasperated sigh, despite my apologizing and thanking him. During checkout, I experienced further difficulty. When I approached the desk to check out, I was instructed in an annoyed manner to place the keycard in the key box. I then had trouble locating the elevator button, as it was positioned on a separate pole rather than in the usual layout right next to the elevator doors. When I did not immediately understand his instruction, the staff member raised his voice and pressed the button himself. In doing so, he moved abruptly toward me, causing us to bump into each other, which felt unsettling. While leaving, instructions were shouted toward me inside the elevator, and the interaction ended with repeated “goodbye” statements delivered in a manner that felt dismissive rather than courteous. If helpful, the interactions described may be visible on CCTV cameras in the reception area and the hallway leading to the ladies’ shower area. I understand that working in hospitality can be demanding, and that language barriers can exist. However, the overall tone and manner of these interactions made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome as a guest. This experience caused unnecessary stress during what was meant to be an enjoyable trip. I am sharing this feedback in the hope that it helps improve guest experience and staff training going forward. Thank you for your time and consideration. | Philippines | Solo travelerOnly recommendation (they are somewhat small considering) 1. Bigger lockers for laptops 2. Maybe more private rooms. I keep extending. I can’t seem to find a good reason to leave or a bad reason not to stay. Nice food and the hostel keeps a big book of recommendations with avg prices and more. The staff are so helpful. They keep clean, give advice, fix things fast, and don’t bother you if you just want to be by yourself. They have tons of rooms and the beds are good. Each with a combination safe in the beds. Showers come with Shampoo and body wash soap. The shower head is handheld friendly. The Toilet have toilet paper and bidet (*****thank you!) Groceries and pool/Billards hall are next door. Location is 1-2 minute walk to bus and MRT train lines. Really it’s hard to offer you more and one of the best prices in the city! Thanks Backpackers ❤️

| United States | Solo travelerThe location of this place is quite good — it’s in a quiet area with a grocery store right next door, and it’s not too far from the MRT, which made getting around convenient. The room and sheets were clean, which I appreciated. Overall, the place was moderately clean, but I would strongly recommend removing the carpet. It has a bad smell, and honestly, it’s unnecessary — replacing it would make a big difference to the overall feel of the space. One thing that really needs improvement is the bathroom setup. The toilet and bathroom areas should be completely separated for females and males. It’s uncomfortable and awkward bumping into each other in such a shared space. There’s definitely potential here, but with a few updates, it could be much better.

| South Africa | Solo travelerThe hostel is about a 10-minute walk from the nearest MRT station (Exit 1). It is next to a supermarket, so you can easily get whatever you need. The room is comfortable, the toilet is clean, and the staff are friendly. They also have a washing machine, dryer, microwave—pretty much everything you might need.

| Malaysia | CoupleThis is the first night at my accommodation in Taiwan, and I really can't find any faults with the pricing and configuration of the rooms. My room has bunk beds, and it’s usually only ***. The bathroom and shower are very clean, and the washing and drying machines are also very cheap. The tall girl had a very good attitude, and so did the male staff members. This first visit to Taipei gave me a different cultural experience. The awards and photos displayed by the front desk made me feel a warmth. Unfortunately, I didn't encounter those two staff members when I left the next day; otherwise, I definitely would have taken a photo. 😭😭

| China | Solo travelerI stayed for 3 nights and 4 days, and the staff was very kind. They cleaned very meticulously every day! The women's toilet and shower room are the type that can be opened with a room key, which is reassuring. I was able to interact with various people, and I made friends locally! There's also a supermarket next door that is open late, which is very convenient!!!!!! I definitely want to stay again!! *For women, it’s especially convenient to bring a name card holder that can be hung around the neck, as it makes carrying the room key much easier!

| Taiwan | Solo travelerAdvantages😀: 1. High CP value: I stayed for two days on weekdays for an average of a little over 300 NTD, less than 700 for two nights. 2. Well-planned common areas: The common areas are separated from the accommodation area, so there's no worry about being disturbed by others doing laundry at midnight. The lounge is spacious, and the sofa is comfortable. 3. Large bed and comfortable pillows and blankets. 4. Good location, with a PX Mart right downstairs. ===== Disadvantages😢: 1. The storage area does not have independent lockers, so early guests may occupy most of the storage space, forcing us to keep items on the bed. 2. The upper bunk is open, and if another person above keeps the light on all night, it can be very bright (in my case, the person didn't turn off the light for two nights and didn’t return to sleep, so I had no one to address this to). 3. You need a room card to use the toilet; in fact, you need the card to enter any of the spaces here, so you can't forget it on the bed. 4. Many hair dryers are broken and stop working after a few seconds. 5. The inside of the washing machine is not very clean; I pulled out my hand-washed clothes after drying, and there were many white crystals on them. 6. There are no independent ladders for the upper bunk; I’m not sure if this is a special case for individual rooms, but my bed did not have a ladder, so I had to climb the ladder of the adjacent bed to get onto and off of the upper bunk, making it really suitable only for youth or teenagers.

| Hong Kong SAR, China | Solo travelerThis is a very good hostel, very accessible, its nearby a bus and train station, nearby good food. The staff is very kind and accommodating. I was assigned to the top bunk and luckily mine had a window, the room was clean too. Toilets and showers were cleaned regularly, shampoo and body wash was provided, however you need to purchase their towels so better bring your own. Their lounge is open 24 hrs, where you can eat drink and cook. The reception only operates from 9am-9pm so better plan ahead if you plan to stay. I had an amazing stay in this hotel and I would recommend it to others. Thank you!

| Philippines | Solo travelerThe place was clean, the lounge was big and we were able to use the things there for free and refill water for free. There's also a grocery store downstairs which is very convenient. We're able to leave our things even after we checked out (nothing went missing). Their staff were accommodating too when we first came in. Would stay here again if I come back to Taipei and would highly recommend this place.

| Malaysia | Solo travelerHighly recommended. Unlike some of the other hostels I’ve stayed at, this one has a strong Wi-Fi connection, even inside the room. It’s clean, and the bed is sturdy. The curtain adds a good level of privacy and helps with sleep by making the space dark. The staff are all very helpful, and I’ve stayed here multiple times.

| United States | Solo travelerThe biggest issue for me was the hostile attitude from the staff. A heavyset woman at reception started shouting at me when I asked to change rooms. She asked if I'd ever stayed in a hostel before and what did I expect for a low price. I told her that they themselves have rules for guests which my roommate wasn't following, and she replied that even the staff don't follow the rules. For context, I asked to change rooms the first time because the dude in my room who apparently lives there rather than a traveler was making the room uncomfortable. The room had a musty body odor smell and there were plastic bags, clothes and trash all over the floor. One morning I found that guy's socks on my shoes. The next morning there were candy wrappers in my shoes. The guy leaves the door open to the hallway as he comes in and out of the room frequently during the night. 230am and he was talking loudly on his phone (and sometimes himself) and his phone volume is turned up so you can keep hearing his phone notifications. I put in some earplugs and tried to ignore it the first night, but 7am in the morning I was abruptly woken up by the guy banging the side of the bunks, so I had to tell him to please be quiet. He just replied, sorry sorry, but later continued doing the same stuff. Noisy all through the night. He doesn't seem to sleep at night. I asked the staff for the first time to change rooms. Apparently the 2 men at reception are aware of this person and said they said I should try to talk with him. I told them that I had and it didn't have any effect so I requested a room change. they said they had no other rooms but I had just passed several empty rooms of my room type on the way to reception. Then one of the guys said ok, he'll talk with the roommate which seems was just a way of making me go away. On the third night the noisy guy was now lighting incense sticks in the room, and the next morning I found trash on and in my shoes. I then asked a second time to change rooms and the heavyset woman at the desk snapped at me and started shouting. Staff shouting in my face was a last straw so I just walked out and got a room somewhere else. Even though my room was paid up for another night, it just wasn't worth it to stay there.

| Hong Kong SAR, China | Solo travelerI feel like home during my stays in here, their cleanliness is in tip top condition, they do provide clean bed sheet as I can smell it is fresh. On top of that, there is one supermarket next door whereby you can buy anything such as toiletries, fresh fruits or beverages from there. I was happy during my stays in here. Please book your stay in here with peace of mind. I’ll definitely come back to stay in here.

| Malaysia | Solo travelerThe stayed with my 10 yr old son and I must say it was nothing but comfort. The room, the comfort room, shower room and even the lounge is clean. I went home with clean clothes since you can do laundry for free. Although you can indeed hear the outside sound, since we're both tired from our travels we didn't mind as we slept soundly

| Philippines | Family with teensI stayed for 4 nights alone. There were many young groups who were singing and dancing in the hallways and having a great time in the shared spaces. I would recommend it to those who can find such scenes charming. If you can't handle noise, please stay at a luxury hotel. The cleanliness of the shower room and toilet is questionable, but since I've stayed in various backpacker hotels around the world, it was personally acceptable for me. There are plenty of hairdryers, but some are broken, so please look for one that works. It would be convenient if there were a few more hooks to hang hangers in the room, as it would allow you to dry your laundry and outerwear. It's a bit far from the station, but I walked from Exit 6 of the Matsuyama Nanjing Station every day. There are a Seven, Family Mart, and Starbucks along the way. The staff at the front desk are generally kind; I was so foolish that I left my passport at the front desk, but when I hurried to search for it in the evening, they handed it to me with a smile. I think it's better to bring your own shower sandals, towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap as much as possible. I intend to repeat my stay when I go to Taipei again.

| Japan | Solo travelerGreat for solo travelers. Had a great night's sleep throughout the 5-day stay. Wifi connection is great at the lounge area, which by the way has the necessary facilities. Staff are very approachable, resolve issues promptly, and are very friendly (don't be shy to holler at Kenny, he loves small talk).
