Recommended for solo travelers and long-term travelers (best value for money).”
I will briefly explain who this guesthouse is suitable for and the advantages and disadvantages of staying here for 15 days. Recommended for: Long-term travelers or solo travelers Advantages: 1. Convenient transportation There are two train stations within a 5-minute walk from the guesthouse (Shin-Imamiya Station and Dobutsuen-mae Station). If you take the Nankai-Namba Line from Kansai Airport, you can go directly to Shin-Imamiya Station for 970 yen. Dobutsuen-mae Station is on the Midosuji Line, so you can go to Umeda and Namba in one go. 2. Private rooms at an affordable price There are usually no rooms available at this price range, and even if there are, they are mostly dormitories or capsule hotels. However, you can use a private room alone at this guesthouse. Of course, this is not only an advantage, and I will talk about it when I mention the disadvantages. 3. Meeting people from various countries During my stay, I didn't meet a single Korean person, whether by coincidence or not. Most of the travelers were Westerners, and thanks to that, I was able to experience meeting people from various countries in the common lounge. Some people may feel burdened by this and consider it a disadvantage, but if you want to meet people, it can be a great opportunity. 4. Facilities around the guesthouse There are two convenience stores within a 5-minute walk from the guesthouse, and there is a large supermarket inside the market(?), so long-term travelers can save on food expenses. Although it may be a bit of a hassle, you can go to the large supermarket and buy ingredients to cook in the shared kitchen. 5. The staff are kind and work hard. During my 15-day stay, whenever there was an issue, the staff immediately helped me solve it. Also, during room cleaning time, I saw them ventilating and cleaning all the rooms that were vacated. This may seem like an obvious thing, but many guesthouses don't do this, so it was a great advantage. 6. There are many shower rooms. Except for the first floor, which has a female-only and mixed-gender shower room, each floor has almost 30 rooms. I don't remember waiting to take a shower even once during my stay because there were over 10 shower rooms. Each shower room is individual, so you can take a shower comfortably. In conclusion, I think this is the best choice at this price range. 7. Other benefits There is a Spa World near the guesthouse, and if you tell the staff, you can get a discount coupon and use it for 1300 yen instead of the original admission fee of 1500 yen. Also, the guesthouse itself has bicycles that you can use for 500 yen a day with a deposit of 2000 yen, so you can go on a bike trip when the weather is nice. There is a hotel called Hotel Taiyo a 1-minute walk away, and if you tell the staff, you can use the public bath here for free. The quality is just an ordinary local public bath, but it's worth going to soak your body. Although the advantages are listed and it feels really good, there were still some disadvantages. People who are considering whether to book this guesthouse or not can easily make a decision by considering how they feel about these disadvantages. Disadvantages: 1. Although it is a single room, the soundproofing is not good. The walls are thin, so even if the people in the next room are just talking, you can hear their voices clearly. However, since it is prohibited for outsiders to enter your room according to the guesthouse rules, there is almost no chance of hearing voices unless you make a phone call. Unfortunately, the sound in the hallway can be heard well, so it can be noisy sometimes due to the footsteps of travelers who come back after drinking in the middle of the night. In the end, it depends on the situation when you stay. Also, there are some homeless people around the guesthouse, so some people may feel uncomfortable.
A store with a high cost-performance ratio~”
I didn't know that Xicheng District was considered a "slum" among the local Japanese population, so I was a bit worried before coming here. However, after arriving at the hotel, I found the surroundings to be clean and safe, with hotels and tourists all around. The hotel is also very close to the subway station, Dongwuyuanqian Station. The front desk staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. I tend to talk a lot and asked them for recommendations on good food and other things, which was a bit of a bother, but they were always happy to help. They even helped me with my heavy luggage. This was my first time traveling alone abroad, and to be honest, both the travel and accommodation experience were very good. It will be a precious memory for me. I wish all the staff at the hotel front desk the best of luck in everything they do!
A reasonable nice budget stay for a solo traveler”
I love the location, so near stations, convenience store and even a Mega Donki nearby and Shinsekai/Tsutenkaku Tower is nearby. Room is clean and AC/heater is working which really helped with the cold weather outside. Safe neighborhood also, I walked as late as 12 midnight and as early as 4 in the morning and it's safe. No stairs so bringing luggage/s if you're in higher floors is def a struggle. There's no shower area in the floor I stayed but I use it at night so no worries of having to wait for others to finish. The walls are quite thin I guess because I can hear people talking from the other room, or they just have loud voices, but that didn't distract me so much. For the price, it's a reasonable accommodation.
Exceptional”
The hotel was a great place to start my Japan adventure. It has Japanese style rooms so you'll be sleeping on futons instead of beds and the toilet and shower rooms are communal. There's also a laundry area which you can also use. Generally, I was happy with the property. It's located across Shinsekai and there are many options for food. You get to be near three train lines so going around the city wouldn't be an issue. I thought that it would be noisy given the close proximity of rooms but that didn't bother me. The facilities were clean. You get your own shower room so you don't need to be naked in front of others. The toilets also have their own rooms and not just cubicles. Over-all, for the price and the experience, this property is worth it.
Simply lovable hostel ever”
The price was so cheap, the staff is very friendly, everyone was so kind, everything you need is all are here, coin laundry, share kitchen and living room, free water, microwave, the decoration of the hostel surely lovable, cool and pretty. The location of the hostel was so very convenient because it located 2 major, JR Shin Imamiya and Osaka Metro Dobutsueneki. It just 5 minutes walk to train station. Konbini and supermarket was easy to reach, it was also very close with Mega Donki which is a pleasure place to buy souvenir from Japan and free tax store! I was very enjoyed my stay here especially my Japanese Style Room. Don’t worry about No AC Room, they’re provides Fan and TV inside room. The soap and shampoo with conditioner is full, bathroom shower was separated between female and male but no problem to share, also a sharing toilets also clean. Surely I recommend to all of you because surely I will comeback here someday. Go here when you come to Osaka as backpacker travelers, you will never regret it because it so worth it. And lots of foreigner so you can make a new friends here. Everything here was just so lovable.
