Great stay in OSAKA”
Very good stay in Hotel Toyo. Easy access to subway/train. A lot of shop, convenient store around area. Basic room and facilities in hotel. Budget friendly for solo traveler they have everything you need.
Perfect for those pursuing low cost and privacy at the same time. The hostel got enough (and clean) restrooms on each floor and shower rooms on 1st/ground floor. No elevator is a tiny downside but didn’t stop us from loving it.
Staff friendly, near station”
The staff very friendly and helpfull. Location near subway station, Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku. The bathrooms only in 1st floor but its ok and i never had to wait to use bathroom. Its nice to get own room with low price.
This backpacker hotel has charm. It has a creative style. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. At the reception desk played always good music. There is a shower room only for ladies until midnight open. Washing machine and dryer are available. The dryer costs 100 ¥. But drys 50 minutes! So clothes definitely will be dry. The single tatami room had an open closet. It has no aircon, could be a little bit sweat during hot summers. You can smell inside the room, that there is less air circulation. The passageway is cool, so it would be possible to cool the room by sleeping with an open door. And there is a fan in the room. And there is a top for people who don't like big spiders like me. I've seen at night a huntsman spider big as my Hand at the opposite wall, so it just was a teenager. The opposite wall is maybe 2 m away. I think in summertime they'll be bigger. I stayed in the hostel in may. The first few days I slept withopen window. No spiders in my room. But you never know
Superb Location and Great Value of Money”
This is my second stay here and as always I like it a lot. It's cheap and I like the single room that I really enjoy my privacy. The location is sooo great. 2 stations are near - JR line and Osaka metro. From Kansai, it only takes 40 mins going here without transfer (which I like a lot).
GREAT LOCATION AND FRIENDLY STAFF”
GREAT VALUE FOR THIS PRICE! (IT'S MORE DIFFICULT TO FIND PRIVATE ROOM FOR TWO) WONDERFUL LOCATION, VERY CLOSE TO METRO STATION AND SEVERAL TOURIST ATTRACTIONS. VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED.
Nice old hostel”
The location is great, just near a subway station
Be Careful of the Fridge Thief”
Excellent location with good facilities. However, hot water on the 4th floor doesn't work. Be careful of the fridge thief if you would like to stay in this hotel. I put my milk in the fridge around midnight and came back for it around 8 in the morning -- it was gone. I understand that this is a budget hostel but people should be able to afford their own drinks. Other than that, this hostel is great.
Perfect! But with a security concern”
Initially wanted to really promote this place. I’m satisfied and i’m happy being here. First 5 nights-perfect But the last night, there was a noisy Korean guy next to my room and i have to admit we can hear him talking on the phone loudly. Its annoying since it was past midnight. Then at 12.30~am, a drunk (probably) Japanese guy slammed on MY door loudly and shook my doorknob, started screaming ‘SLEEEPP!’ I think he mistaken my room since the rooms are VERY close. It was a REALLY scary experience. Having a CCTV on every floor is very good, but if something bad were to happen, the CCTV would not help me at that time. There were no staff to attend the situation. Overall, I wanted to express this concern of mine as a female solo traveller. I need to suggest: 1. Separate Female/Male sections 2. Have staff at night shift Otherwise, The staffs are friendly + nice! The concept + facilities - awesome! Rooms - clean + comfortable! PLEASE improve the security before something unwanted happens.
more than avarage”
Building is old but clean well I found some dirt on the wall of bathroom. Washlet didn't work well to stop water running. I couldn't find decent desk and chair for PC work, so I hope it will be providing in the future
very good place”
everythings is good. I consider to stay there on next visit
The location is very good! (near the local train station and JR station) It’s very affordable and there is no curfew. After you check out you can leave your luggage up until 10PM. They have free coffee in the morning up until 11AM. They also have free drinking hot and cold water, shampoo, body soap, conditioner. You can rent a body towel for only 100¥. I definitely recommend this place for those frugal travellers. 💯%
Single room with very low budget”
The Hotel is very good for single traveller with low budget but prefer to have own room..the location is good jus 2 min work from subway station..And 3 min walk to Daiso and Don Quijote.. Jus abit noisy if other guest speak louder or close door more heavy..But is acceptable since the place is so value for money.. Will stay again next time..
Good Place to Stay”
Fair price hotel in Japan. Location - few minutes walk from the nearest JR pass train. Don Quijote is walking distance. The building is a bit old, so even if it is clean it doesn't look it is. You know what I mean. Staff - super nice! Free cold water is perfect!!! Small pantry for travelers = 10/10!!! You can cook, wash dishes. Bed is fine. Shared bathroom is okay but no towel. You can rent a bike. There's a bubble bath free, but you need to go to the other hotel (anything free is perfect!) Overall, good experienced! :)
i was so happy stay here in a private room. i was allowed to check in very early (at 9 am) then i slept till 3 pm lol. staff also let me leave my bag after check out. i love the common room, using computer to watch youtube, watching tv while i was on breakfast. the kitchen is very nice, they offered hot water everytime. i cooked fried rice here. there is woman shower room...really comfortable. and my room has tv..i switch it on always that made me feel like live as japanese did... highly recommended place to stay. oya the staff also offered me a kind of snack for free. thank you hotel toyo!
Will definitely stay again ”
First, if you are Muslim traveller, this place is highly recommended because u have your own room. Secondly, about the staffs, I will converse with every single of them and the only bad experience was during check-out (18th Nov). Put away your cold attitude please. This is a great place and u are ruin guests' experience. Cleanliness, I guess they are short of staff, so use your common sense to clean your own mess after using the facilities.
Price point good, and location near to osaka tower”
The room was comfortable and enough to put my 28inch luggage, and still have space for another same sized luggage. The tatami futon bed was comfy. The toilets are clean as well. Walking distance to nearby trains and attractions. Overall satisfied.
Worth every penny I paid for. Like this is worth only half of what I paid in Tokyo. Only downside is, the shower rooms are in the first floor while we're staying on the third. But for what it's worth, definitely gonna stay here again. Also love all the murals. 😊
Pros. 1. Near JR Station or Local station. 2. Near supermarket that sells cheap and discounted food 3. You have your own room (mirip kost) 4. Friendly and helpful staff 5. Clean bed toilet shower Cons. 1. Smelly room. Bring your own napthalene to reduce the stinky old sweat odour 2. I dislike the common room. Prefer un-vandalized clean fresh walls 3. Kitchen area, refrigerator, sink are dirty.
Me & my sis checked-in a day late and they still considered my request. Of course i informed them earlier about the changes. There are three train stations near Toyo Hotel. Donbutsu Enmae station, JR station and Shin Imamiya station (Keihan Line) which is direct from and to airport. It is very accessible to many places that you are going to. Just two train stations away from Dotonburi and JR line going to Kyoto. Staff are helpful and they are available all the time. There’s a kitchen and you can cook your food. I cooked fried rice and scrambled egg for our breakfast but some are cooking french toast, fried chicken etc. You must practice Clean As You Go. Coffee is free from 5AM until 11AM. Hot and cold water for drinking is available 24/7. There is a common toilet in every level. But bathroom is on first level only. There a lot of maps, book guides, brochure that you may use in the receiving area. Family Mart and Lawson is just around the area.
