We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel because it was very comfortable, there were movies playing all day on tv in English, the internet was the best we had anywhere in Myanmar, and the staff were very friendly. There is not a whole lot to do in Yangon for a week, so we spent a lot of time relaxing in the a/c room with little excursions out during the day. It seemed to be a very new place. The staff seemed to still be figuring everything out and weren't always quite sure what to do, but you can expect that in a country that has only recently become open to tourism and external standards. Breakfast is included but they don't have a lounge. They aren't very proficient at English, so when we asked where to get breakfast and what time, they communicated that they would bring it at 7am to our room. To not complicate things and confuse anyone, we just set our alarm for 6:50 every morning. Like I said, they are still figuring things out so I'm not hard on them. The elevator was always full of mosquitoes, so beware, but that was our only complaint.

The amenity goods in the room were, shampoo & conditioner, soaps, towels, dryer, TV, free wifi internet(slow), fridge(water & beer inside) Plugs' shape was B3 type. No phone inside a room. A stuff ironed my clothes for me. Orange juice, Sliced fruit(changes evey day), 2 toasts, 2 eggs(choice of 3 cook) and tea/coffee for breakfast. The system of the hotel was not really good, but the stuff were flexible and nice, so forgivable. 1. I made a reservation through internet(agoda), but they don't use computer. They use inn resister note. So they didn't have my reservation. I've heard the same stories from the other guests. I could have a same room through 4 nights, the other guests said they moved to another room from 2nd nights. 2. I needed some information around the hotel, so I called 2 weeks before my visit. The stuff said she was going to email me for the information, but I'd never got it. Some information I got on the same phone were wrong. 3. I stayed 4 nights, and asked morning call for 3 morning. Someone knocked the door and woke me up 30 minutes later the time I asked, nobody woke me up the other 2 mornings. 4. I took a bottle of water from the fridge. But they thought I took 2 and they charged for 2 waters. A bottle of water is cheap(500 kyats) There are some problems, but I think they come from their culture. The stuffs are nice and tried to fix, so I felt the problems were small and they were not problems. They have a friendly young cat.

Their service is good. No matter is the check-in receptionist or the bellboy or the staff over there. I think they all are very helpful and try their best to help out whenever we have doubts. Their breakfast is not too bad but can be better and for their location. I think to me is very convenience and walking distance to various shopping areas so all is wonderful. I will definitely book into this hotel again when i visit next time. They are simply amazing.

This is a lovely little hotel with a familiar atmosphere. The rooms are cosy and clean, and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was made to order, which was great. The hotel is well located close to Shwedagon Pagoda and Dhamma Joti Vipassana Meditation Centre. There is an Ocean Supercentre (shopping mall with lots of food outlets) not too far away - you can walk there or take a short taxi ride. There is a beautiful park and Yangon Zoo close by as well. The hotel is really good value.

Their breakfast was good, and room service food was good as well. It’s expensive compared to local cafes but quite good quantity and taste good, so satisfying. But they mistook our orders a few times and didn’t have change often. So we had to ask them to return our change next morning. The location of the hotel is also nice, walking distance to Myanmar Plaza and a few bus stops to Hledan Market. And it’s located to the end of street, it is quiet mostly. Unfortunately we stayed around New Year Day so only on the New Year’s Eve was so noisy because of neighbors party. And they gave us fine wine on Christmas and that turned to nice introduction to Myanmar wine which we didn’t expect that tasty! We liked the wine very much so we bought one more bottle by ourselves. we advise you to ask hotel staff how to use shower, otherwise you might get burned. And one more mystery about hotel was, we didn’t have a bath mat for first few nights, but suddenly it was placed one day. But the bath mat was dirty with dust and hair, and placed in front of bathtub. We didn’t use it but next day again another dirty bath mat was placed. We didn’t complain about it as we felt it might have been their best. We were puzzled but enjoyed such cultural differences. And the cleaning itself was good, they did great job on house keeping. There were some “mysterious” things, but after all we just enjoyed the stay at this hotel and liked all the staffs. We will book this hotel again if we have an opportunity to come back to Myanmar.

A brand new hotel in a good location, hidden away from street traffic. Somewhat difficult to find, but the kind manager and personnel try every thing to help you and fulfill your wishes. Of course, a 3 star cannot be the best in the world, but may be the best of this kind for now in Yangon. Very quiet surrounding, but 2 minutes to transport (taxi) and 7 mins. to great supermarket. Absolutely recommendable - and I know hundreds of hotels around the world.

Everything was worth every penny spent. Hotel is located just a few mins walk to Shwedagon with a beautiful view from the roofdeck. Near a convenience store and a local restaurant though the hotel restaurant served good food too - not too expensive as I thought. Staff were very kind and allowed us to check in early and even gave me a warm birthday greeting. They helped us booked a taxi for our early morning bus to Bagan and even gave us breakfast on the go. Definitely a good hotel where you can enjoy privacy and comfort without having to spend too much! And the highlight of it all- the amazing touch screen elevator buttons! Will stay again here when I come back to Bagan next year with my family.

My group of 4 recently stayed there. I read mostly positive review from travellers and decide to book this hotel. We were very impressed because our romm is very clean and good location. Hotel is very good valued for money. Breakfast buffet is the hightlight. There are a variety of menu both western style and local style for 2 stars hotel which is more than I expected. Our room is very clean and convenient location. Saff are friendly and helpful. Wifi network is good. The hotel are not far from tourist attraction too.

Room is neat, clean and good size. Mini fridge is a nice touch and you can purchase beer and drink from downstairs to keep inside your room. Depending on which side of the hotel your room is on you'll have a view of the Shwedagon pagoda, also it can be seen from the window near the elevator. Breakfast is buffet style with nice food and attentive staff. We stayed here 3 times and won't try another hotel in Yangon.

I've gotten a special cut off price which made me feel like i got a free wonderful room. It's a spacious room with lots of trees behind the property. Can you imagine that how it is like when you stay at a hotel that you can hear flock of birds sing and chat. After raining you hear family of frogs played orchestra. Despite it doesn't offer decent breakfast and i had to go outside eating. The rest of those are wonderful for the amount of money charged to my card.

I had a very pleasant stay at Rainbow hotel. It was in a great location. Shedagon pagoda and kandola lake were all in a walking distance. Downtown was close too. I was delighted to see their well maintained garden. Overall the hotel was very clean and cozy. I could feel that the owner's nice and considerate touch throughout the hotel. The owner and staffs were very kind and helpful. I loved Korean and Myanmar food at the restaurant. My room was a little bit hot because it was at the top floor but it was fine with an air conditioner and fan. I would definitely stay at the hotel again.

the owner seems to want the ngf to be an international hotel - but he has not shared his image with the staff, does not live there himself, and has a long way to go. do not accept a room on the fourth floor! the showers don't work! hotels in yangon are not cheap or plentiful at the 3* range, but you can proble find better. however the staff were excellent and helpful, breakfast was good and the north entrance to the schwedagon was only a 15 minute walk away.

The place is located on a small street 20 minutes by walk from Kandawgyi Lake. We were extremely well welcome by the owner, very nice, kind and smiling as Burmese usually are. The room was super clean, big, with double bed, balcony and a bath tub. We took taxi only to go to to the Sule Pagoda and surroundings, otherwise, going to Kandawgyi lake and to Shwedagon Pagoda is easy by walk (20 and 40 minute walk respectively). The last day, the owner booked a taxi for us to go to the airport and let us use our room until 2pm even if normal check-out is at noon. The breakfast are as well very good and you can chose between western breakfast or 3 different Burmese breakfast, among which the traditional fish soup (mohinga), very good! We would for sure go back there!

Its set back some ways from the main road (Nat Mauk Rd) and in a residential neighborhood so you don't get the perpetual traffic and noise. Yet the location is pretty strategic. There can be some noise from the nearby primary school but it's not unpleasant or continuous. The hotel itself is basic but clean and welcoming -- all one needs really. This small 40 room hotel is a 5 minute walk from the biggest pagoda in Myanmar. The rooftop view is spectacular. The owners are family and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food from their kitchen was some of the best I had eaten, even after doing 2 food tours. The location is an hour walk from downtown, but taxis are so cheap, you can get one for about 2 bucks, so it did not matter to me. I preferred the quiet area with the amazing view. The owners were there everyday and made themselves available at all times. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay there. Wish I had more time! Value for money, you cannot go wrong. The breakfast buffet was fresh and changed daily. It really is a great place to stay in Yangon

+Super friendly, helpful & smiley staff Good breakfast, beautiful pool, room service available, Room very well equipped, all is very basic but I was surprised for only $20 per night. Staff need to improve English skills but here a smile is worth miles more...Location is outside the main city centre but probably better...Avoid to walk as is so hot, a taxi costs no more than $2 per trip. Great first experience in Myanmar, thanks!

We stayed 2 nights at the end of our Myanmar trip. We got one of the cheaper rooms (no window) and had a really nice relaxing couple of days. The room was nice, the aircon a little weak, so we left it on while we were out and it was fine. The bed and linens were lovely. The shower was great. We went for our free drink on the roof (nice touch) the first night and went out. When we came back they'd left us a fruit plate in our room. From start to finish the people were excellent. Check-in was efficient and super friendly. There was always someone helping you by getting the door, giving directions, restaurant suggestions, hailing a cab, all of it. Some of the best English we dealt with in Myanmar was here and we had just really happy, really good service. Breakfast was really good - they have it in shifts so it doesn't get crowded and yet they let us stay as long as we wanted with coffee and drinks. Don't miss the things you can order a la carte, like the PB & CC pancakes. I would totally recommend the Merchant Art Boutique hotel and I would also return to it.

We use 4 rooms of the hotel in 1 night. The rooms are very clean. The standard room with shared bathroom is much better than we would expect from the same kind (because in fact only we use it- the other room downstair has their own bathroom already). We have elders in the group so we would like to have a rest before going to the airport. They are very kind to allow us to check out at 2pm. Internet is quite good and the location is excellent (10 minutes walk to the east gate of Shwedagon- the first gate Burmese would enter the pagoda) and 10 minutes car ride to the Boyote market. Because this hotel is quite new, the taxi and google map get some trouble finding it. Just locate Shwegone Plaza. The hotel locates inside that block

I got a good deal -- rainy season discount -- for this very nice new hotel in Bahan, in a quiet area near several parks. I was happy to find two good Burmese-style eateries close by; there is also a Thai restaurant across from the hotel— the location is more convenient for food than I expected. Its also a nice area if you want to take a run in the park in the morning, or walk up the hill toward Shwedagon. Of course, it is a bit away from downtown, but taxis are always available. My room (deluxe doublt) was very comfortable, with a big beautiful bed, and a view of greenery. Breakfast was great— tasty and lots of variety! (Only complaint -- coffee machine coffee is mediocre.) I enjoyed the gym —again, with view of the pagoda and park— and the small, pleasant pool on the roof. Staff were all friendly and professional, helpful with taxis, addresses, etc. Nicely done Hotel Shwe Yee!

located just behind the crystal jade restaurant on the secondary main street, the old family hotel is quite and comfort-like. room is spacious with full furnature and facility of a 3-star standard including safebox and hair dryer. bath room is old and generally functional. towels are laundried but got stains. the aircon is strong to keep the room cool enough that swiptaway my worry about mosquitos firstly because the leakage between wooden window frame is finger-wide in somewhere. the restaurant is also loved by locals. it serves dim sum the whole day besides plenty choice of chinese dishes. the breakfast is on the room that has upgraded for single set to a menu of four sets during our stay. actually, we had almost all our breakfast, lunch and diner in the restaurant for its good taste, abundant dish choices and reasonable charges. the smart boss of gave 10% discounts for diner. hotel staff are warm hearted and helpful. they solved problems as dripping aircon, failure lamp, sharp nail sticking from wardrob shelve, etc. a young man named simon was very experienced and positive to his job. they helped me rent a lovely car to naypyitaw in a fairly low price.
