Where to stay in Bahan
Bahan hotels & accommodations
I been to Yangon many times and The Link is probably the best hotel in Yangon with the range of 50-100 USD. Hotel is new so all facilities are still in excellent condition, staffs were friendly and location is right in the city center. Only one issue is the selection of breakfast which is quite limited. Otherwise, this hotel is perfect stay in Yangon
Everything was worth every penny spent. Hotel is located just a few mins walk to Shwedagon with a beautiful view from the roofdeck. Near a convenience store and a local restaurant though the hotel restaurant served good food too - not too expensive as I thought. Staff were very kind and allowed us to check in early and even gave me a warm birthday greeting. They helped...
The hotel room is of good size. Clean and tidy. No water problem as in the other traveller mentioned (maybe his bad luck). New hotel with nice roof top garden for evening beer or morning breakfast with nice view of Shwedagon Pagoda in the background. Street is near to the Bahan market (the scene of fierce conflict in the 80s between military and the rebels). Sufficient...
A brand new hotel in a good location, hidden away from street traffic. Somewhat difficult to find, but the kind manager and personnel try every thing to help you and fulfill your wishes. Of course, a 3 star cannot be the best in the world, but may be the best of this kind for now in Yangon. Very quiet surrounding, but 2 minutes to transport (taxi) and 7 mins. to great ...
Their breakfast was good, and room service food was good as well. It’s expensive compared to local cafes but quite good quantity and taste good, so satisfying. But they mistook our orders a few times and didn’t have change often. So we had to ask them to return our change next morning. The location of the hotel is also nice, walking distance to Myanmar Plaza and a few ...
Good value for money. Large & clean rooms with all amenities. Good quality breakfast. Hotel is centrally located in Yangon but you definitedly need a car. We booked 2 rooms with Pagoda view (more expensive)but initially we were assigned rooms next door to a large tour group who would definitely make loud noise so we immediately requested new rooms on a different floor....
We have come to prefer Clover at Bahan for our many trips back to Yangon, as the price is right for longer stays, and all our basic requirements are covered. The staff are very friendly and responsive, and quite a bit of effort is put in to make sure the rooms and bathroom facilities are clean. The view of the Shwedagon Pagoda from the breakfast room always sets a cal...
First, don't get confuse. There are 2 Clovers in Yangon. 1st is Clover Hotel and 2nd is Clover Suites. Both are located in Bahan area. Good Things about Clover Suites: 1. It is NEW! 2. There's a roof top pool and a gym which has a nice view of Schwedagon Pagoda. 3. Cheap and good food in restaurant located at level 5 (suitable for Asians - around 1,500 to 3,500 kyat o...
The best things about this hotel are the location and the staff. It is next to Bahan market at the base of Shwedagon Pagoda. It is a short walk to Kandawgyi lake and a short bus or taxi ride downtown. For such an active area, it is surprisingly quiet at night. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Plus, the staff were helpful with tips on where to ...
Hotel M is a charming hotel in a nice quiet residential area with a boutique hotel feel to it. The room was beautifully furnished and the hotel feels like home away from home. The staff are very attentive and friendly. We used the inexpensive taxis and Grab to get around the city. The staff at Hotel M would call taxis for us which we found to be very convenient....
2nd stay at this hotel, location is good where you can find food easily. Price is cheap when booked via Agoda. Just that the room i booked is abit small, especially the toilet. Overall is reasonable for short stay.
I got a good deal -- rainy season discount -- for this very nice new hotel in Bahan, in a quiet area near several parks. I was happy to find two good Burmese-style eateries close by; there is also a Thai restaurant across from the hotel— the location is more convenient for food than I expected. Its also a nice area if you want to take a run in the park in the morning,...
I felt great about mostly everything this hotel got to offer! They even had a surprised for me on my birthday. I travel to overseas often but I can say that this would be one of the best hotel I ever stayed. If I were to request anything more, that would be buffet style breakfast, faster internet connection, fluent English spoken staff. Other than that, simply the ...
We stayed 2 nights at the end of our Myanmar trip. We got one of the cheaper rooms (no window) and had a really nice relaxing couple of days. The room was nice, the aircon a little weak, so we left it on while we were out and it was fine. The bed and linens were lovely. The shower was great. We went for our free drink on the roof (nice touch) the first night and ...
i think 10-15 years ago it was a top hotel but now needs serious renovation. extremely accomodative personnel: reception, bell boys and restaraunt!!! very helpful! good location - close to Shwedagon Pagoda.
My group of 4 recently stayed there. I read mostly positive review from travellers and decide to book this hotel. We were very impressed because our romm is very clean and good location. Hotel is very good valued for money. Breakfast buffet is the hightlight. There are a variety of menu both western style and local style for 2 stars hotel which is more than I expected...
Breakfast is great better than others. Wide range of food and great taste. Very clean..daily room cleaning. Five stars.
It's a small boutique hotel in a nice rich neighborhood. Everthing was very good and high-end selections of supplies and breakfast items. I'm so glad I found this hotel in Yangon and definitely I will come back to stay.
Bahan Township location is my main target of the Hotel. General speaking, no complaint during the stay... the local staff is nice as usual. The wifi speed is from fair to good. A surprise during the stay is massage on the top floor - high quality.
1st time in Yangon, stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel was lovely, bed and room were very nice and clean. Staff helped us book several trips and went out of their way to be of assistance. Easy place to get to all the sites/activities. Would definitely stay here again. Great value for money. Keep up the good work.
Good no-frills business hotel in a convenient area. Extremely friendly staff. Internet worked well most of the time.
We stayed here in jan 2017. The price was then 55 $ for a double room. One of the best hotels for the price. I found out that they have increased the room rate to over 70 $. Now.
I've gotten a special cut off price which made me feel like i got a free wonderful room. It's a spacious room with lots of trees behind the property. Can you imagine that how it is like when you stay at a hotel that you can hear flock of birds sing and chat. After raining you hear family of frogs played orchestra. Despite it doesn't offer decent breakfast and i had to ...
It's a new hotel. I booked a suite, but the room is facing the road very noisy. The staff changed the room for me immediately, a bit smaller but with the pagoda view. The breakfast was good. I had a lunch with my friend in the hotel before leaving Yangon. The dishes are all nice, especially the fish.
This small 40 room hotel is a 5 minute walk from the biggest pagoda in Myanmar. The rooftop view is spectacular. The owners are family and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food from their kitchen was some of the best I had eaten, even after doing 2 food tours. The location is an hour walk from downtown, but taxis are so cheap, you can get one f...
Probably the best room I stayed in so far in Myanmar. Clean rooms. Breakfast bufet. Although it's not the cheapest it's still very good value for money.
located just behind the crystal jade restaurant on the secondary main street, the old family hotel is quite and comfort-like. room is spacious with full furnature and facility of a 3-star standard including safebox and hair dryer. bath room is old and generally functional. towels are laundried but got stains. the aircon is strong to keep the room cool enough that sw...
Room is neat, clean and good size. Mini fridge is a nice touch and you can purchase beer and drink from downstairs to keep inside your room. Depending on which side of the hotel your room is on you'll have a view of the Shwedagon pagoda, also it can be seen from the window near the elevator. Breakfast is buffet style with nice food and attentive staff. We stayed here 3...
Little bit far from sule pagoda and main downtown but It's ok if you have enough budget to take a taxi or like walking. Room condition is fine, staff is also kind and lovely. The only weak point is wifi. It doen't work very well but this problem has everywhere in Myanmar. If you wanna use wifi without any inconvenience and worries, go to 5-stars hotel.
Small but good enough hotel with friendly staffs I wanted to save money by staying at a small hotel like Hotel Pho Sein. As there are not many choices in Yangon and most hotels are expensive. I was happy with this hotel so much. It is small and quiet. Room is new and good enough. It is a 2-stars hotel but i would like to rate it as 4-stars hotel. The locatio...
Cheap places to stay in Bahan
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel because it was very comfortable, there were movies playing all day on tv in English, the internet was the best we had anywhere in Myanmar, and the staff were very friendly. There is not a whole lot to do in Yangon for a week, so we spent a lot of time relaxing in the a/c room with little excursions out during the day. It seemed ...
The amenity goods in the room were, shampoo & conditioner, soaps, towels, dryer, TV, free wifi internet(slow), fridge(water & beer inside) Plugs' shape was B3 type. No phone inside a room. A stuff ironed my clothes for me. Orange juice, Sliced fruit(changes evey day), 2 toasts, 2 eggs(choice of 3 cook) and tea/coffee for breakfast. The system of the hotel was not rea...
Their service is good. No matter is the check-in receptionist or the bellboy or the staff over there. I think they all are very helpful and try their best to help out whenever we have doubts. Their breakfast is not too bad but can be better and for their location. I think to me is very convenience and walking distance to various shopping areas so all is wonderful. I wi...
This is a lovely little hotel with a familiar atmosphere. The rooms are cosy and clean, and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was made to order, which was great. It is a very nice option if you don't mind to be far from the city center. Local bus stop only few meters from the hotel. One of the cheapest options in town (best deal if booked through Agoda), with air-con, fridge, confi bed, tv and nice breakfast. Friendly staff.

I had a very pleasant stay at Rainbow hotel. It was in a great location. Shedagon pagoda and kandola lake were all in a walking distance. Downtown was close too. I was delighted to see their well maintained garden. Overall the hotel was very clean and cozy. I could feel that the owner's nice and considerate touch throughout the hotel. The owner and staffs were ver...
the owner seems to want the ngf to be an international hotel - but he has not shared his image with the staff, does not live there himself, and has a long way to go. do not accept a room on the fourth floor! the showers don't work! hotels in yangon are not cheap or plentiful at the 3* range, but you can proble find better. however the staff were excellent and helpful, ...
The place is located on a small street 20 minutes by walk from Kandawgyi Lake. We were extremely well welcome by the owner, very nice, kind and smiling as Burmese usually are. The room was super clean, big, with double bed, balcony and a bath tub. We took taxi only to go to to the Sule Pagoda and surroundings, otherwise, going to Kandawgyi lake and to Shwedagon Pagoda...
Its set back some ways from the main road (Nat Mauk Rd) and in a residential neighborhood so you don't get the perpetual traffic and noise. Yet the location is pretty strategic. There can be some noise from the nearby primary school but it's not unpleasant or continuous. The hotel itself is basic but clean and welcoming -- all one needs really. The staff really do make...

I stayed 2 nights at the Fame Hotel, beds are comfy and prices are very correct for the location, near 4 star hotels, very good restaurants and the Kadawgyi lake. The Air con broke down in my room but they immediately changed my room for a new one. The view on the Shwedagon pagoda in the morning from the top-floor restaurant is just amazing!

+Super friendly, helpful & smiley staff Good breakfast, beautiful pool, room service available, Room very well equipped, all is very basic but I was surprised for only $20 per night. We use 4 rooms of the hotel in 1 night. The rooms are very clean. The standard room with shared bathroom is much better than we would expect from the same kind (because in fact only we use it- the other room downstair has their own bathroom already).
