The room we booked was a family room for 6 (3 bunk-beds). There's a bathroom inside and a TV. There was no Wifi (which is okay since I want the kids to detach from gadgets during our short vacay). The room was very clean and spacious (two more beds would still fit in). The aircondition was very cold. It's very close to the beach but does not cost as much as the beach-front hotels. It's very cheap and yet still accessible to both the town and the beach. They sometimes sell Takoyaki, Yakisoba and Okonomiyaki which are cooked by Ms. Jennie's husband who is a real Japanese Chef. But the biggest positive factor that made our stay a very memorable one is Ms. Jennie. She was, by far, the most accommodating, very kind, and the happiest person I've met in Baler (and to think that Baler has many nice and kind people). I WILL DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN AT BALER DARSHANS! :)
It's a 2-minute walk away from Sabang beach.
Good location but hostel still under construction”
Food was good but somehow limited, staff no idea of running a hostel, although accommodated us for a very early check in
The owner and their staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely book again! Kudos to Ms. Jen and Ms. Tina. :)
I will come back and recommend them to my family and friends”
They are so accommodating, their place is clean and just 1-2 mins walk to Sabang Beach 👌
Very good vlaue for your money. Rooms have good airconditioning, cable TV, and comfy beds. Location is good as well. The staff are very friendly and always reeady for a chat and can prepare simple meals for you. The only downside was that there was no Wifi when we stayed there.
very accommodating staff”
we arrived early at baler darshans, check in time is 12pm but the staff let us use the room immediately without any additional cost. room is enough for 4 pax, but the bathroom is quite small. towels are not available, but i already expected this because its just a transient house. location is ok since its just 2-3 minutes walk to sabang beach and t.molina street. offers free parking too. but the best thing about this transient house is the staff and the owner are all so kind and accommodating. they let us use the kitchen to cook our meals without any cost. they tour us without cost, and even let us into their relative's house on our way, and served us coffee and breakfast. they even let us pick some dragon fruit plant we can grow at home. they are very nice, its been hard to say goodbye as if we've been friends for a long time :) p.s. they serve authentic takoyaki and yakisoba since one of the owners is japanese.
Worth returning you will fell inlove with the place specialy with the staff
This property is a budget property
Great host, super friendly ”
Host was cooking Japanese for our dinner, soooo delicious. Very close to the surfing action. Hopefully soon they will open the restaurant
Value for money”
we had a good time for a cheap amount of money.
Thank you to the staff for being caring and kind, granting and helping us with our requests. We will surely stay here again when we go back to baler.
They need to fix hot water shower
Staff & Location”
Friendly staff, a 3min. walk to beach and 10min. walk to Sabang areas for restaurants and other stuff.
Staff was rude”
Room for 6 was good for 3. The room was very small and no Hot water.. The price was not right for the room. On 2nd day, the staff was very upset when I asked for fresh towel, she called me " ma Arte" I told her that's not how customer to be treated, she said it's better that I know how she feels. Considering I paid over $100.00 per day, I thought I deserve a fresh towel.
simply, caretaker is very accomodating. ”
Our stay is not that good because of the storm. They dont have kitchen or any where to grill. They allow us to cook in the parking area. the caretaker is nice and always there for our needs. The room is clean but small. wifi is strong. and the aircondition. The restroom , water leaks on the floor we dont know where the water came from. The water heater in the restroom is not working. water is so cold to take a shower. The house is under renovation.
great for the first timer
A short family vacation”
While not exactly a beachfront accommodation, it is just a two-minute walk to the shoreline, so visitors can swim anytime they want to and just leave their towels in their rooms. When we arrived, Jenny, the very friendly owner, was very nice to accommodate us in another room, since the guests billeted in our original room had not yet checked out. They provided us a large thermos bottle and they placed a stove outside the rooms so we can cook or heat up water if we wanted to. The room, the beds, sheets, and toilet were very clean, and the air conditioning was nice and cold. All in all, a good deal for our family of six. The town's center, where the museum and church are, is a 15-minute walk from the guesthouse. The restaurants and canteens are also in the town center. Small toiletries, coffee, bread and canned goods are available at the sari-sari store at the corner of the street. One thing: the tricycle drivers may not be familiar with the name of the guesthouse, and sometimes even the name of the street (Querijero), so a map would be handy.
Stay For Cheap”
Pretty good! If you'll be out the entire day to explore Baler, then this place should be your choice. Very affordable room rate as well!
Small but Very Courteous and Accommodating ”
Its a small place but who would stay in the guesthouse for the whole day when there are sights to be seen and surf to enjoy. I enjoyed my stay even though we check in around midnight and check out late, they were really accommodating.
