AWESOME PLACE!”

The room we booked was a family room for 6 (3 bunk-beds). There's a bathroom inside and a TV. There was no Wifi (which is okay since I want the kids to detach from gadgets during our short vacay). The room was very clean and spacious (two more beds would still fit in). The aircondition was very cold. It's very close to the beach but does not cost as much as the beach-front hotels. It's very cheap and yet still accessible to both the town and the beach. They sometimes sell Takoyaki, Yakisoba and Okonomiyaki which are cooked by Ms. Jennie's husband who is a real Japanese Chef. But the biggest positive factor that made our stay a very memorable one is Ms. Jennie. She was, by far, the most accommodating, very kind, and the happiest person I've met in Baler (and to think that Baler has many nice and kind people). I WILL DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN AT BALER DARSHANS! :)

very accommodating staff”

we arrived early at baler darshans, check in time is 12pm but the staff let us use the room immediately without any additional cost. room is enough for 4 pax, but the bathroom is quite small. towels are not available, but i already expected this because its just a transient house. location is ok since its just 2-3 minutes walk to sabang beach and t.molina street. offers free parking too. but the best thing about this transient house is the staff and the owner are all so kind and accommodating. they let us use the kitchen to cook our meals without any cost. they tour us without cost, and even let us into their relative's house on our way, and served us coffee and breakfast. they even let us pick some dragon fruit plant we can grow at home. they are very nice, its been hard to say goodbye as if we've been friends for a long time :) p.s. they serve authentic takoyaki and yakisoba since one of the owners is japanese.

Sparkling Clean, Very Close to Beach, Great Hosts”

Brand new clean, 100 meters shady walk to beach, very pleasant management and staff

Almost booked Costa Pacifica but decided to try and save some a lot of money on a "less" expensive place. We probably had a lot way "more" fun and got four nights stay for price of one! Of course, rooms were smaller BUT we really, really enjoyed our stay. Owners Jenny and Chang were excellent. They even cooked us a fabulous meal (which we brought home from wet market). The location, midway from street to beach, was very quiet, yet just 2 minutes shaded walk to check out the surf. After a day on beach, the guesthouse outdoor wash off area was nice to have and access to washing machine made for easy laundry cleaning. Ask Jenny or Chang to introduce you to their brother and surf instructor. Also, local guide named Marlin was great asset to help us navigate our way up to "Mother Falls" (probably best in country) and other local sites. NOTE: the style of rooms is designed for small groups of surfers or friends/family that want to use them for sleeping and hitting the beach (not hanging out). While a yet to be built second floor promises some "couples" rooms, to date, all rooms currently have bunk beds. As a couple, we moved a mattress to the floor. This used up all the floor space. However, either of two larger rooms would allow multiple mattresses to be place on floor and still give walking around room.

Simple Guesthouse near Sabang Beach”

Location, room size and room cleanliness

The Guesthouse was a short walk from Sabang Beach so it's location is definitely a plus. We were 5 and we stayed in a room for 6 people. The room was spacious and the beds were all clean. The bathroom needed a bit of improvement since we noticed that there was a leak. Also, we couldn't get the shower heater running. But it was alright, we enjoyed the shower since it was really hot during our stay in Baler. So all in all, it was okay for the price.

A short family vacation”

Location, value for money, cleanliness

While not exactly a beachfront accommodation, it is just a two-minute walk to the shoreline, so visitors can swim anytime they want to and just leave their towels in their rooms. When we arrived, Jenny, the very friendly owner, was very nice to accommodate us in another room, since the guests billeted in our original room had not yet checked out. They provided us a large thermos bottle and they placed a stove outside the rooms so we can cook or heat up water if we wanted to. The room, the beds, sheets, and toilet were very clean, and the air conditioning was nice and cold. All in all, a good deal for our family of six. The town's center, where the museum and church are, is a 15-minute walk from the guesthouse. The restaurants and canteens are also in the town center. Small toiletries, coffee, bread and canned goods are available at the sari-sari store at the corner of the street. One thing: the tricycle drivers may not be familiar with the name of the guesthouse, and sometimes even the name of the street (Querijero), so a map would be handy.

Small but Very Courteous and Accommodating ”

Location, Staff and Comfort

Its a small place but who would stay in the guesthouse for the whole day when there are sights to be seen and surf to enjoy. I enjoyed my stay even though we check in around midnight and check out late, they were really accommodating.

wifi, aircondition and the caretaker very accomodating

Our stay is not that good because of the storm. They dont have kitchen or any where to grill. They allow us to cook in the parking area. the caretaker is nice and always there for our needs. The room is clean but small. wifi is strong. and the aircondition. The restroom , water leaks on the floor we dont know where the water came from. The water heater in the restroom is not working. water is so cold to take a shower. The house is under renovation.

Staff was rude”

Room for 6 was good for 3. The room was very small and no Hot water.. The price was not right for the room. On 2nd day, the staff was very upset when I asked for fresh towel, she called me " ma Arte" I told her that's not how customer to be treated, she said it's better that I know how she feels. Considering I paid over $100.00 per day, I thought I deserve a fresh towel.
