Wonderful Place, Wonderful People”
We have just returned from Bali after 10 days, 5 of which were spent at the Bali Mandira Beach Resort. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to stay at this Resort as it met all the requirements we were looking for. It is right on the beach, close to the main Legian shopping area and the staff are extremely accommodating and very friendly. The pools were immaculate and we were even lucky enough to get our room upgraded to a Deluxe from a Superior on check-in. I chose this Resort from 3 others and it turned out to be the best choice by far according to other people we spoke to about their accommodation. Thank you Bali Mandira for making our stay in Bali one we will always remember and we will definitely be back with our sons next year. Can't wait to see you all again!
The Mandira Resort ticks all the boxes!”
We truly enjoyed our 14 day stay at the Mandira Resort. Set amongst manicured tropical gardens and decorated pathways and a perfect beachfront outlook. It is conveniently located in Legian which means Kuta or Seminyak are nearby, as are markets, shops and shopping centres. There is only a cobbled service road separating the resort from the sandy beach. We enjoyed buffet breakfast at the Parasol restaurant overlooking the beach and in the evening we often attended a very good buffet dinner in the Celagi Restaurant, but not before experiencing the most spectacular sunsets, either from the infinity pool, or while having a drink at the Barong Bar or the stylish Suling Lounge. To compensate the main pool under re-construction, the resort offered better price deals. Upon completion in July, the new pool will be outstanding! In the meantime, the temporary pool suffices very nicely, this coupled with the existing infinity pool and spa; we can’t say we ever felt compromised by the pool situation. We enjoyed a room with a courtyard which contained and in ground paved bath, shower and day bed –amongst lush tropical plants - very beautiful. The unexpected bonus, were the staff who are the most friendly and efficient staff we have ever encountered in all our travels. They attended to our every request and need, particularly as we relied on the internet for our business communications. I cannot stress enough how their warmth and genuine courtesy ensured a better holiday. Personally, we will never forget the fun we had with their entertainment staff and very professional acts, particularly the Batak Quartet and the very talented Entertainment Manager Mr. J. Free, whose enthusiasm and passion for his work and life in general, both inspired and ensured everyone was having a great time and felt included in the night’s entertainment. By the time we left the Mandira, we felt we had left our friends behind. We will definitely return to this resort – it ticks all the boxes!
Excellent Resort with Friendly Staff!”
I travelled to Bali with my husband for our honeymoon and we wanted to stay at a resort for the special occasion (as we usually stay somewhere a lot cheaper per night, i.e. Poppies Lane 1 or 2). The photos of the Bali Mandira on Agoda's website looked really nice, and it was very affordable, too, so we decided to make the Bali Mandira our accommodation for the week we were in Bali. The resort was MUCH better than we expected! The photos do not do the place any justice. I HIGHLY recommend staying at the Bali Mandira to anyone wishing to stay at a resort-style hotel in Bali. It is situated literally right on the beach. I cannot fault this resort and am very happy that I made the decision to stay here. :) ONE VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER! :)
We had initially booked two nights at the Bali Mandira, but we loved it so much we spent 6 nights there. The hotel is across a small private road from the beach and a lot of it is made up of cottages immersed in a beautiful Balinese-style garden with statues and decorated brickwork. The room we stayed in (deluxe cottage) was very pretty, with a beautiful natural-sunlight shower. While we were staying there the main pool was under renovation, but that was a plus, because we don't go for pools anyway (and why would you, with such a wonderful beach just across the road?) and the hotel more than made up for it with free breakfast+lunch/dinner, free airport transfers, and late checkout. These add up to a pretty good deal. The hotel was quite convenient, too: the location is next to shops and restaurants in mid-market legian, a short taxi ride away from upmarket seminyak, and the hotel's tour organization office and currency exchange desk were surprisingly reasonably priced. There is a small and very friendly surf school / rental shop nearby. We experienced a couple of issues during our stay. On our penultimate night we were kept awake between 3AM and 5AM by a bunch of rowdy boys next door (not the hotel's fault), and when we moved to another room we found that the shower was not working. When we raised the issue, the duty manager made up for it by upgrading our last night to a private pool villa, which was absolutely fabulous. Also, wifi was a bit slow. But that's perhaps appropriate, given that it's a beach hotel and not a business hotel.
We had an amazing stay at the Mandira. Could not fault a single thing about our stay. We got married at the Mandira and the day was perfect. A huge thanks to Meta for organising such an amazing day for us! The pool & surrounds are just stunning, we spent most days in a cabana or at the swim up bar. The cocktails are Devine and our nephew who also stayed loved the water slides. We stayed in the private courtyard room and would stay there again, loved the outdoor bath and shower. The room came with the club package so free food & cocktails each afternoon. Between breakfast and afternoon tea I never needed to eat out. All staff were great, especially the guys working the night of our wedding. Our guests had so much fun with the guys that night that everyone was talking about it for days. If your looking in to getting married in Bali we highly recommend the Mandira. Not a single hitch, we chose the cocktail food Buffett menu and it was superb, our guests loved the selection and there was loads of food. The Band and photographer supplied were fantastic also. We definitely think the Mandira is the best resort in Legian!
We had the most amazing holiday at Bali Mandira Beach Resort and Spa! Every staff member goes above and beyond to make your stay special. Everybody is friendly and fun to be around. The pool area was awesome and we spent most of our stay lazing around the pool whilst the children used the pools and slides. We will definitely be returning to Bali Mandira! We all especially loved J.Free ( Entertainment co-ordinator)who we had so much fun with, especially the kids! Thanks Bali Mandira for the best holiday ever!!!!
Great service-great place-generous breakfast”
we loved this hotel because instantly looked attractive, spotlessly clean and had amazing gardens right in front of our rooms. i loved waking up in the morning with a cup of coffee and watch the gardeners attend to the plants and the birds singing on the trees, it felt like home. this hotel was walking distance to all the attractions, beaches, markets, restaurants and great cafe, especially the coffee corner. nightlife was a feature as within walking distance you could dine in 5 star open restaurant facing the beach this was hard to beat. our family had a great time here and the bali mandira beach resort was a great place for our family to dine and swim and get together after shopping. i will certainly come back.
An well-located hotel with fantastic service”
We stayed at Mandira for 4 nights after trekking around Bali. It was our chance to splurge before we went home. The grounds are stunning and immaculately kept. I really enjoyed walking through to get to the beach/restaurant/pool. The Mandira staff were always friendly and are very helpful. The rooms are nice (we stayed in a deluxe hotel room), it was a typical mid-range hotel room with slippers, robes, cable tv, king-bed (although, we found that it was 2 king-singles pushed together which we weren't pleased about). There was construction going on while there, but it was only during the day. If you're not in the hotel room during the day it won't make a difference. All the construction is behind plastic sheeting so it's not an eyesore. Upon arrival, we received a dinner voucher as compensation. The pools and grounds are stunning. Many daybeds mean that you never miss out, comfy lounges near the bar with a view of the beach and sunset. Room service was decent, nothing spectacular, as was dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast at Parasol was lovely. We upgraded to the club benefits and to be honest, unless you especially want that exclusive access to a different lounge, it's not really worth the extra you'd pay (unless it comes free with your room). The snacks were pleasant enough, but unless you stay in there all day drinking tea/coffee and eating biscuits and eclairs, then stay for the 2 hours of cocktail hour (how many cocktails can you fit in in 1 hour without getting too drunk to do anything?), you just don't get your money's worth. if we were to stay next time, we wouldn't get club benefits. I think the only thing that was good about it was that we got to eat at Parasol. It's right next to the beach so the view every morning was lovely. All in all, it was a pleasant stay,it was so nice to get away from the craziness that it Legian.
Well worth a visit”
We took the morning 5am flight from Perth arriving at 8.30am. I’d been in communication with the resort via email about an early book in- but had no promises. Upon arrival the check in was quick and easy and yes we had a room, they had upgraded us in fact. What a great start. The room was wonderful, lovely courtyard with daybed and outdoor shower/bath, renovated room and well appointed. We had booked this hotel after watching the pool area being renovated during previous visits staying at the adjoining resorts of Legian Beach and Padma. We were not disappointed. The pool area has everything you would want, Spa areas, Sand beach entry area, Waterfall feature, rope day beds and water sunbeds, plus of course the pool bar. There is also a double slide kid’s pool adjacent to the main pool. If you want peace and quiet with no kids you have the roof top pool and gazebo area. All of this across the walkway from Legian beach. Perfect location and perfect leisure area. Close to all the exterior shops, eating places, bars and spas but very relaxing within the resort itself. If you have small or teenage kids this place is great, no one can get bored, everything within walking distance. Breakfast was good, no complaints and staff very pleasant. Food around the pool especially the pizzas were good. Only complaint being the pool bar had no happy hour, you needed to go the external bar by the lounges, also very pleasant. Overall this resort has done a very good renovation I think would be reaping the rewords and steeling patrons from the two adjoining resorts, I know when we come back next year we will be staying here, it got our vote. The only bad points were, the wi-fi was bad and no gym, although we just went down the road to seaview gym.
Our second home”
Second time staying at Bali mandira, absolute perfection. We just eloped and had our wedding in the resort. Words cant describe how special and magical it was. Throughout our stay staff went to and beyond to ensure we were well looked after, we stayed in delux club villa and then upgraded to pool villa on our last night. The sourroundings are stunning and the location is perfect, right opposite Beach (go see our friend wayan he will look after you at his Beach spot-agus bar) and so close to local markets restaurants etc. I highly reccomend the bali mandira for location, facilities, staff. Only one sad point is the price you can pay but to me is worth it.
Dear Michelle, It was with great pleasure to welcome you again on your second visit. I am delighted to know that every moment you spent at our resort was flawless, Thank you very much for remarking about the excellent service delivered by our staff, your kind words about it is indeed encouraging their motivation. I really appreciate for your recommendation, I do hope your kind words will be inspiring fellow travelers. It would be delighted to welcome you back in the future. Best regards Wayan Sunatha
Great location, Great hotel”
Enjoyed our 5 nights with the Bali Mandira. We were in a deluxe club cottage interconecting room. they were well appointed and very comfortable. We had issues with the hot water. As soon as we mentioned, the problem was solved. The reort was udder renovation which did dampen the holders enjoyment to a degree as pool space was limited. The resort has a generous bonus at the moment to compensate giving free evening buffet meal per night of say. We utilised the spa facilities - defiantly recommend any of the spa treatments. Excellent staff and well priced. My only disappointment was tat I was told when departing that the children could have used the hotel next doors pool facilities. Had we known this we would have stayed a lot longer.
Great hotel in a great location, Beach front”
First time at Bali Mandira. Love this hotel and its location. Hotel has commenced work to remove existing pool near main restuarant. Works have been screened off so doesnt cause an eye sore. There are two other pools to utilise until this one is completely removed and then rebuilt bigger and larger. New pool will be complete by July 2013. So need to consider whether your happy staying whilst reno going on. We had 2 superior rooms on the ground floor with a connecting door between our rooms which was great - 3 females travelling together so door between rooms left open. I love the red brick older style Balinese look - the rooms were big and the beds comfortable. Bathroom is average though. Definately going to stay here again next year after pool reno complete. Lovely gardens and the beach was nice. Due to reno's hotel supplied free diner voucher for every night of our stay except for first night. Buffet Breakfast was included in price of booking and Dinner was taken care of by hotel vouchers for inconvience of reno. Beautiful Balinese dancers performed at hotel and they were fantastic to watch. Definately coming back to the Bali Mandira. Keep eye out for sales on Agoda for this hotel. Varies quite a bit when on sale.
Paradise in Bali”
We had such a lovely stay at the Bali Mandira. The location is great, with lots of restaurants/shopping just outside of the resort, and we were very impressed with the cleanliness and amenities offered in the room and on the grounds. Upon arrival, we were informed we were upgraded because we had mentioned that it was the last few days of our honeymoon. The deluxe room we stayed in was gorgeous, with a beautiful shower that was partially outdoors and had lush plants growing out of the beautiful stonework (on purpose, not overgrown:). The adults only pool was beautiful, with an infinity edge and the loungers were very comfortable. If you are looking for relaxation, look no further than the Bali Mandira. We'll be back next time we visit Bali.
Clean, friendly, and comfortable.”
we had a wonderful time at the bali mandira. i was initially quite concerned when i found out that the main pool was under renovations. i had nightmares of jackhammers and banging all day. it actually turned out well. the main renovation is fenced off from the remainder of the hotel. the upper-level infinity-pool get a bit of the noise, but it's very tolerable. the temporary pool they've set up is surprisingly nice and is nice and quiet except for constant plopping noises from the squirrels knocking seeds out of the trees around we were offered (as all guests are, i believe) free buffet dinners for each night as compensation for the construction. in my experience, hotel buffets are quite boring and low quality. again, though i was pleasantly surprised. the dishes served were very tasty and on par with most of the restaurants we went to in and around town (even the small, quaint traditional restaurants we usually go to to avoid commercial garbage). the babi guling (suckling pig was delicious). breakfast was equally good. this is the first place i've found a crispy croissant in sea. usually they're soft and droopy althought i know the humidity is tough to deal with. as far as the rooms go, we splurged on the private courtyard room. the bed is actually quite soft and comfortable. my wife and i have travelled around thailand, cambodia and indonesia three times and rock-hard beds seem to be the norm. one small note. our friends initially chose the regular room (versus courtyard) and had an outdoor bathroom. to some this is nice, to others, not so nice. in any case, i do recommend this hotel based on my travelling experience. the staff all smiled, and we were comfortable and well-fed. that's pretty much my definition of a good hotel.
Stayed at the Bali Mandira for 10 nights in late July and have nothing but the nicest things to say about every aspect of the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and nothing was too difficult. Gardens manicured to perfection and the pool area sensational. Especially liked the option of having the raised Adults Only pool overlooking the beach. Spent a number of nights in the Adults only pool drinking very reasonably priced cocktails. Breakfast was as good as any we have ever had. The rooms were very modern and spacious with all the trimmings, and especially liked the feature shower and bathroom. Rooms were always made up when we needed, and did not even notice the renovations currently going on. All in all would higly reccomend this hotel to any travellers be it couples or families. Will definitely be returning.
another excellent stay at the Bali Mandira!”
I have stayed at the Bali Mandira 3 times now and look forward to many more holidays there. It is in a top location in Legian and is close to some of the best restaurants in Bali and situated right on the beachfront . . The new swimming pool renovation is spectacular and you can watch your children on the water slides from the pool bar should you like a drink .The staff are excellent and very helpful should you need anything. It is a beautiful hotel and I get sad everytime I have to leave and go home :( thankyou Bali Mandira for another wonderful holiday.
Beautiful hotel, excellent location, lovely rooms”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bali Mandira. We stayed in a Premier Room and it was beautiful, exactly as it was shown on the website. The club benefits that came with the room were fantastic - especially the complimentary happy hours up in the stunning Suling Lounge daily! The breakfast selection in the Parasol Restaurant was the best I've seen in Bali and this was my 5th visit, the banana pancakes were my favourite. Best of all are the staff at the Bali Mandira, they are just beautiful - always smiling and friendly and willing to help with absolutely anything, they made our stay so comfortable we didn't want to leave! The adults only pool is fantastic, a great idea of u don't have children or are having a holiday away from them, the only thing I thought was missing was a swim up bar, apart from that the place is perfect - we will definitely be going back!
great hotel with beautiful beach”
we stayed for 3 nights in bali mandira for honeymoon. the hotel had generously upgraded our room type from superior to room with private courtyard which was marvellous. the checking process was quick and the staffs were helpful and friendly. at that time the hotel was refurbishing the main pool and we got complimentary dinner/lunch coupon during our stay as compensation. the breakfast menu was great but as a domestic tourist we would like to have a more traditional indonesian dishes. the room was clean and very spacious. we definitely considered to comeback to bali mandira whenever we go to bali.
luxury beach resort”
We travel led to Bali on our honeymoon and chose to stay at the Bali Mandira based on its reputation. We were upgraded to the deluxe club cottage room which was located next to the pool and breakfast restaurant...It was the best location in the resort! There are two pools, one with a pool bar for all guests and an infinity pool for adults only which was breathtaking! The location is perfect on the beach and also on the main street in Seminyak. Breakfast and pool side menu options are plentiful and wood fire pizza is a must try for lunch.
Just as good as on previous visits”
bali mandira has excellent facilities, has beautiful gardens, statues etc and is not sterile. it's on the beachfront in a busy part of legian but is quiet and relaxing. the main pool is under renovation however the temporary pool is lovely and when the work is finishd, it will look beautiful. complimenary buffet meals were offered every night to compensate for the inconvenience. most enjoyable stay indeed, and we know bali well, after 30 years of travelling there and other parts of indonesia.
