Only resort on the island very beautiful and peaceful but resort needs work!”
We were there during festiva so the whole island is alive! Resort is quite and peaceful but in need of some work. Pools no long useable. One room we rented did not have a working aircon unit when we arrived but hotel staff replaced it after being notified. Room was comfortable with foam mattress. Large shower. Would like to see tourism agency have a plan to restore the resort and make repairs. Too nice of an island not have a first class resort

The only hotel on the island, first-class, nearby the beach, can dive at any time, breakfast is good, the facilities are normal.

Very basic”
You are going to the island to chill and snorkel. The Resort is at a 3 star level. Really basic. Cold water showers and not much variety in the restaurant menu. The pools are empty and there are only three sun loungers. But the view is amazing and you are swimming in the ocean which is just 30 metres from your villa. No WiFI but this is a good thing to escape every day life.

Island 3/5, resort 1/5”
This resort is a joke, and a bad one. When we first arrived to the island it was surprising that there are many many eateries on the beach. Turned out they cater for the day trippers. Unfortunately it also means the island has a high number of inhabitants who make the island dirty, and there is limited waste management. I was hoping that island is a lot more deserted and pristine, so much for that. The resort itself is so undermaintained that this word is not even enough to express it properly. Imagine a resort that was built 20 years ago, and since then they only cared for the garden. And the pool has been out of services for quite a while. The sad thing is that with some work this place could be so much better. It has amazing potential. I hope one day it will have a competent management. The restaurant is another peculiar thing here. During the 2 nights stay they probably had half of the meals on the menu available.

Beautiful getaway from Alona Beach”
It was our third stay on the island and as before the beauty of the underwater life didn’t disappoint . The coral in front of the resort is amazing and there is lots of sealife around. On every visit we’ve encountered several turtles. The price of the rooms are good value but unfortunately this time the pool was out of order. The hard working staff takes very good care of the resort but the bungalows could use a refurbishment . Still a lovely place to spend a day or two. As soon as the tour boats have left after lunch, peace and quiet sets in and you have the whole island to explore!

Great Fishtank at Your Doorstep”
Reception needs better quality service. We understood that the swimming pool was under maintenance, however other deteriorating parts of the room and resort could get some repair. However, despite these issues, the fantastic snorkelling and the good quality restaurant may encourage us to return.

All good”
Pros: Reasonably priced. Little duplex bungalows are very basic but fine. Dive shop was decently equipped and the training pool and instructors adequate. They were very nice to our 12 year old who completed his Junior Open Water course. (which was reasonably priced also as were one time dives). Very nice dive sites off the island (lots of turtles, corals, sea life) and little boat time. Cons: Internet is very bad here even for Philippines (some may call this a pro). Island is full of refuse - old bottles and sandals litter the beach that surrounds it and the interior. Not a lot to do other than dive. Our 5 nights maybe 2 too many. Meh-food was just ok. Ok variance. Little variance on drinks front. Not a lot of people around so little atmosphere. Island also has little going on after lunch when day tripper leave. Staff were generally good but not terribly motivated. It is government run it seems. Would recommend if you wanted to dive and stay for 3 days in perfect tranquility.

Weekend in Balicasag”
I really wanted to love this place. The only thing our group ended up enjoying was the snorkeling. I tried to setup a dive trip, but I am the only person in my group that dives. They wouldn't let me join another group, which is not an uncommon request to make as a single diver. The food is awful. The last two days of our trip we ate only rice and banana shakes. I would recommend island hopping from Panglao or Cebu for the day.

Rooms need upgrade. Matresses outdated. Bedsheets thin as paper. Water closet works only part time. ”
Beautiful Island. Fishsancturay boarder moved half in front of resort. Aircondition unable to keep room cold. Changing chefs make same food order an adventure. Beer too expensive even with different prices in other menue card. Staff unavailable after 10pm.

Balicasag paradise ”
The resort is the only hotel on the island. Highly recommend to stay here to enjoy the crystal ocean water in the morning without many tourists. The room is a little bit dark, the service needs to be improved.

Old run down resort in a beauitful location”
Location Location! Bungalows are old and run down and in need of a serious clean and touch up. Pool is too suspect to try to get in. Beers is really overpriced. But you can roll out of bed and walk only steps to some of the best snorkeling and diving in the world.

I had visited twice at the Balicasag island dive resort. It's still wonderful diving and snorkling spot. The squid fishing was nice at night. The electricity was not disconnected and water also good condition. I'd like to visit again there.

Best place to go for scuba diving in Tagbilaran Bohol area. Its would be best if you bring your own gear and be selfcontained in everything. Food, snacks, medicine Etc. Best and Excellent dive instructor and dive masters in Bohol is in this island.

Beautiful”
We requested transport both van from accommodation and boat for crossing - all went to plan and found that we had paid less than other guests that had come across independently of this service offered by the resort. We are retired so scuba diving is much too energetic for us - but love to snorkel. The turtles were a bit disappointing but did catch a glimpse of a couple of them at a distance - the marine sanctuary was were all the beautiful fish are and just loved our time there especially viewing the drop off where there is a sudden drop in the ocean that looks like a cliff in the ocean with the most beautiful coral and colourful fish. Don't miss that - it is quite dramatic. There is a nice pool and pleasant surroundings. We enjoyed wandering through the village and meeting the children and there carers behind the resort. We saw interesting nippa type huts and cockerels with their feet tethered to ropes - cock fighting seems popular in the Philippines. Loved our stay here.
