Pet friendly is a play on words, they have 3 rooms for dogs, tiled area is bathroom....”
Very disappointed with a $25 charge for having a pet at a pet friendly hotel it must cost $25 to mop the tiles eh ! then the threat of a $150 cleaning bill if you don't keep your pet in the tiled area = bathroom separated by a tatty old child gate and they go on the furniture....!
Good Business Trip Place to stay.”
Room only a standard room but plenty of space and very clean 10/10 Food in restaurant very good and good value. Try the Fettucine Marinara YUM! Only downside was that the sachet coffee was AWFUL and the coffee from the restaurant not much better. Fix that and its a 10/10. I have already re- booked for my next trip.
Room was very clean. Sheets and towels were replaced daily. Pool is lovely and heated. Room furniture is quite dated. Good location with Fresh Seafood, Dan Murphy’s and a lovely Tavern all within a few hundred meters. Very quite location.
The room was great. Had requested a larger bed and asked at time of booking and was sent an email that it would be done, but when we checked in we had a standard bed. Perfect location and close to a local pub within walking distance
The OTA's (online travel agencies such as booking.com) do make it hard for us as they prescribe the way we may describe rooms. All our 3 1/2 star Standard rooms and 4 star Executive have queen beds and our Premium rooms have King beds. Large beds means Queen beds on OTA's however if you go in to the room description you will see the exact bed size. If a guest asks for a large bed (an OTA option) we always let guests know they are booked into a room with a queen bed but they can upgrade if they want to a king bed. I do apologise if this information was not conveyed to you, however next time ask at check in and, if there is a room available, you will be able to upgrade.
Good traveller's Hotel”
Good value hotel for anyone doing a road trip or those spending a few days around Ballina/ Byron Bay on a budget. Nice restaurant, friendly staff, good sized room which was clean and tidy. I'd definitely come back!
A clean well appoimtef spacious room awaited us after a late arrival made hassle free by the manager leavimg a key in the key safe at the front for us as well as an upgraded room. The only negative was the breakfast on the morning - poor service and lacklustre food spoiled what was otherwise a pleasant albeit it , brief stay
We used it as a stopover on the way to Queensland. Staff was very, our room was great, but the room for the In Law had a bath which made it difficult for her. The receptionist was very helpful and organised a disabled room with no trouble. All very good. Thank you.
Clean and friendly staff at reception”
It has been a pleasant stay...staff at reception was very helpful and friendly....room and facilities were clean......only thing was pillows were a bit hard....not a big deal....overall it was very good!.....good location .....quiet area.....you can have a good sleep and restaurants just close by......lastly....it might be good to change their hotel sign to "Best Western Ballina....".....they still had the old sign which was confusing. Otherwise...all very good!!
This is a very basic stay …but if you are trying to watch funds its adequate. No bowls in the rooms for a self made breakfast was really frustrating - we used mugs to eat our Weetabix!!!! There was a fridge and a toaster and kettle but no plates or cutlery either - why not if you supply a fridge???? HOWEVER the staff are exceptional and do look after you. The chef sadly was not the best cook the meal at night for all of us was rather disappointing - steak tough and chicken the same but the lamb was fine. Just needs some tweaks to get the reviews better. Thanks
Needs updating for the price”
This property is over priced for its condition. We upgraded to an executive king room but the bathroom was about 20 years old. Restaurant was pleasant and the gardens are lovely. Staff were also great. Unfortunately, I wont return due to the cost did not reflect the condition and decor of the room.
Very clean, and comfortable rooms.”
Great value for money.
Over priced !!!”
This is not a resort, it’s a motel just using the name ‘resort’ and the price of 175 for a night was double what it was worth... the staff are nice but it’s just over priced for what they offer..
Good place for travelers with a dog
cozy and nice
Clean and quiet”
Pros Clean and quiet Pool Comfortable rooms Cons Out of town A little expensive for the location Overall I would recommend staying if you don't mind driving to town for meals and entertainment.
Hi Anthony. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. Although you can go into town for a greater variety of eateries we do have a great restaurant on site that is open 6 days a week (check out the reviews) and there is a Tavern and brilliant fish and chip place across the road from us with a bakery Thai restaurant just behind the Tavern so there is quite a choice for those who do not want drive into town.
basic clean and friendly with great food
Hotel and yards need a lot of maintenance. Walls are also paper thin so you can hear your neighbors ”
We went to plug in our IPhones so we're looking for a plug in. We went and looked behind the night table and we're shocked at the accumulation of filth and dust. Looking further the baseboards around the room were also dirty. The furniture was old and needed replacement. It was so hot so we decided to go for a swim. We were greeted by a filthy gross pool. We as well as another lady complained about it enquiring at how long before it would be fixed. Finally on the fourth day it was ready but we also had to check out so it didn't help us. The grounds were a mess and looked like they hadn't been touched in years. We could go on and on but needless to say this hotel needs a lot of tender loving care.
Not happy ”
Firstly i arrived at 2.00 pm on sunday 31/1/16 with my wife at the motel for our 46 anniversary and found the reception office closed i walked all around the motel grounds it was a very hot day and couldn't find a person anywhere i walked backed to reception to call them on the outside courtesy phone no response there was a recorded message to leave name and no.so we left thinking we might have to book somewhere else i then called Agoda customer service but no response from them either about an hour later the motel reception called me and apologised not good enough they should have offered a complimentary breakfast instead they gave us a room upgrade but room was very average never stay there again
outdated motor inn”
Outdated Motor Inn that now has little to offer. They need to become family friendly and they need to focus on the needs of the customer NOT theirs. It was overpriced for what was offered, a pool that was basic( pool cleaner sat in the pool unplugged so we had to push it out of the way). Air conditioner that they wanted turned off when not in the room. If we pay for the room we pay for ALL amenities. The rooms were looking old and needed updating but we did sleep okay as the bed was okay.
Couple on overnight stay passing through Ballina”
We arrived in the early evening and left in the morning, we were greeted by the owner who was courteous and helpful with suggestions with food options and directions. Our room was simple but clean, well maintained and value for the money we paid. Would stay again if we were in the area.
Take a look at these facilities:
