Service
I travelled with my son and they could not supply us with a room with a twin bed because we "have booked with Agoda, and Agoda prices are too low"

Room cleanliness
Booked two nights at this hotel. We had a long drive and arrived there at 2:00am. On the first night we were allocated a room on the 2nd floor. We were allocated twin beds, then had to wait for housekeeping to supply a mattress filler which took some time. the carpets were dated and visibly unclean. Aircons did not work. Cockroaches were in the bath tub which had ring stains Although houskeeping was kind enough to give us some insect spray. We had to request toiletries since the room was serviced only for one. We raised our disappointment with the manager on duty the next morning, who was kind enough to move us to a room on the 3rd floor. This was visibly a clean and comfortable room, although we had to wait for housekeeping to provide us with a mattress filler again. Once settled in, we had a comfortable nights sleep. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Management need to do more about cleaning up the environment outside the hotel, to make it welcoming to late arrivals. Hope the above issues will be attended to.

Review of Balmoral HOTEL - Careless attitude to safety of guests
I was mugged by 3 knife wielding thugs a few meters in from the corner of the Hotel - probably no more than about 20 m from the front entrance. This took place at approx 7 pm on Sat 25 June. My phone was stolen. There was only one guard outside the hotel who claimed not to see the incident. I find that difficult to believe. When I spoke to Riaz the night manager and suggested that the hotel needs to do more -- such as extra security after dark, installing cameras on the corner walls of the building (there are only cameras on the front entrance) as well as flood lights -- his absolutely remarkable response was that the hotel is not responsible for what happens on the pavement outside! This attitude is the kiss of death for the future of the Balmoral. Since the Hotel displays a reckless attitude towards the safety of its guests I cannot recommend the Balmoral and will not be back.

Nice place
Hotel is stunning inside and out. Very excited about the fact the restaurant was halaal. A decent breakfast provided, very tasty. Restaurant service great, although waiters kept asking us to tip them in cash as they had to wait 6 months to receive tip if it was included in our card payment. Wasnt impressed by this. Beds were very small, and not many rooms offer bigger. Overall the stay was good, thank you
