Amazing stay for Christmas!”
We stayed at the Bamboo Cottages for four days over Christmas - and we are so glad we did! We were welcomed the moment our taxi arrived at the resort (it is a little out of the way which we think is a good thing but you definitely need a taxi to get there, we bartered down to 400,000VND from the airport to the resort). The staff are so lovely and speak really good English which is a bonus. The resort is gorgeous with the restaurant on the beachfront. The beach itself is really clean with lovely warm water. The cottages are beautifully decorated and so comfortable, with amazing views. You can rent snorkels and kayaks for free. And the staff have lots of ideas for day trips etc. We ate in the restaurant everyday (the red snapper curry, calamari, and fisherman's paradise are a must! Also try out their cocktails - yum!) And on Christmas Eve the staff threw us a BBQ party which was more delicious food than we could handle! I even forgot my bikini and they posted it express to my next hotel! I couldn't recommend this hotel more.

Sensational ”
My friends recommended that I stay at Bamboo Cottages and I'm so glad I did! Staff are friendly, professional, attentive. Rooms are spacious, clean and located just metres from the water. The resort is located away from the busy parts of the island - I often had the beach to myself. The restaurant serves fresh delicious meals and, as a vegetarian, I had plenty of options on the menu to choose from. I extended my stay and I predict you will want to do the same.

The perfect spot to relax and enjoy great food, great views and great hospitality. From the second we arrived it was such an incredible experience. The employees were very helpful and the room was always clean and perfect for a relaxing sleep. We felt very lucky to have stayed at Bamboo Cottages and recommend this as your go to spot for Phu Quoc. Thank you to all the amazing staff!

Absolutely amazing place! Can't wait to go back”
The staff is so nice. When we arrived we were upgraded to a beachfront cabin. Then we were waited on hand and foot for 9 days. Morning yoga was a treat. The servers became our best friends. There were plenty of options available for tours around the island, kayaking, hiking, etc. But we chose to just laze. Incredible food, free water, free drinks and appetizers many nights. We would give six stars if we could!

Nice and quiet location”
The rooms, the staff and the restaurant is absolutely amazing. The beach could be better. It is very exposed to wind and the water is wild and unfortunately a lot of plastic flows around even though the hotel does what it can to keep it clean. I would recommend the hotel every day and hope to come back again.

Island paradis”
This was our second visit here and it was still just as great. Super friendly staff, perfect quiet location well away from the main area of Phu Quốc and delicious food served right at the waters edge. Couldn’t ask for more.

Very good”
Gorgeous private beach, worth going here just for the beach. The meals were huge and great value. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Though for the current price range at $70-$90/ night, I think other resorts offered better value for money as the resort is fully eco (no AC, no fridge etc.) and the room was a bit rundown.

Great place for a getaway”
Location: the North of Phu Quoc island is a remote area, not much tourist activities to do there. There's no local restaurant in that area so most of the time we eat the the cottage. It best suitable for anyone who want to stay with the nature, and enjoy quiet time with their family or friends. The beach is very clean, you can also see the fishing ships nearby (and can even reach them if you using kayak). During our stay, the construction site did not work, or maybe we stay on the far side so we did not hear any disturbing noise. Food: The restaurant is very good. The serving size is pretty big (for me at least) and it's fusion so both foreigners and local can enjoy it. Price is acceptable with this quality. It cost about 12~15$/person. However, the food in the restaurant is just general Vietnamese dish, the one you can eat in any decent restaurants in HCM, and they don't serve Phu Quoc local dishes. If you want to try genuine Phu Quoc dish you need to take a taxi for 1 hour to the south of the island. It's ok if you just stay in the cottage for 2-3 days, but we stay for 6 days so it's kind of boring for us. Breakfast is free but it's the same every day, and it's not so good compared with lunch & dinner. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They truly bending over backward to help us during our stay. Room service is clean. We received many helpful guide from kitchen staffs when we planed our island tour. They offer many free drinks and suction cup massage. The cottage helped you arrange taxi and motor rent, and everything went smoothly for us, which was very helpful, since the location is very difficult to rent a bike or taxi by yourself. The outdoor bathroom is not as bad as we imagined, the roof cover 1/2 of the bath, and only heavy rain will annoy you a little bit. In trade-off, you get the chance to experience taking shower in the open air, with sunshine and wind. The main problem is their solar energy system, the fan turned off after 0AM midnight. If it is

Wonderful staff, good price, great food, unforgettable experience ”
Traveled to Phu Quoc for 4 days and decided to split our time between the bamboo cottages and another resort. Upon arriving to the cottages, we immediately regretted not staying the whole trip at the cottages. The resort offers free use of kayaks and hosted a barbecue one night which was equally as fun as it was delicious. Charles, the manager, was very attentive to our every need and does a great job running the resort. Even after we checked out, we were welcomed to use our room and just hang out for an extra couple hours before leaving (no one was set to stay in the same cottage that night). The beaches were the cleanest we've seen in Phu Quoc and we loved hearing the ocean as we went to bed. The lack of AC was something to get used to at night, but provided fans helped. Can't wait to come back again one day soon! Thanks for everything Bamboo Family!

A little bit of paradise”
This place is a little bit of paradise. The location was perfect, far enough away from the crowds of the main town but close enough to get there by scooter or taxi for a day or evening out. The cottages were quirky and cute, the outdoor shower was literally the best we have ever had anywhere. The staff were wonderful, made you feel very much at home. The beach was kept immaculately clean, unfortunately this is quite rare in Vietnam where litter is usually just left on beaches and road sides. The breakfast was lovely and the evening meals fab ... We enjoyed the BBQ very much, it was fantastic. We just 'chilled' completely while we were there and would go there again in a heartbeat. If you do visit, please note there are very few road signs on Phu Quoc so don't go out without a map ( like us) especially if you are on a scooter as you will never get to where you want to go. If you can, do visit the Bee Farm a couple of miles away from Bamboo Cottages, it is so lovely. We learnt about bees and enjoyed Gina and tonic with honey in the sweetest little cafe in the garden ... This was a highlight of our trip to Phu Quoc!

A special, tranquil spot”
I was so pleased to have found Bamboo Cottages for my quick trip to Phu Quoc. I was there during Tet, so the prices were higher than usual, but I would definitely return another time. The staff is really standout and their attention to detail is commendable. I normally don't like eco resorts because they tend not to be as clean or stylish as other spots, but Bamboo did not compromise either. The food and drinks are also of note - delicious and great value. Highly recommend.

Environmental, friendly and truly beautiful!”
One thing I really struggle with when I travel is leaving a positive impact on the countries I go to. Making people smile is a start but our environmental footprint is a lot harder to control. Everything we buy seems to be wrapped in plastic, every hotel has an endless breakfast buffet that no doubt results in a huge amount of waste, and I don't even want to think about how much electricity the tourist industry uses. Luckily there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Eco-tourism is a growing industry that is helping travellers minimise the down side of our adventures. Bamboo Cottages is a great example of a resort that really takes this seriously. This resort is almost completely plastic free - the boss looked ready to fire someone when he found out I was given a plastic straw with my drink! It is off the grid (solar powered) - water is not always hot but it's totally worth it. And the delicious food seems to be prepared with local produce and minimal waste. Another plus with this resort is that they look after their staff (and you can tell), there is something genuine in the friendly guest interactions, these are not programmed robots, they are people who seem to really enjoy their jobs and making guests happy. Our welcome was overwhelming, as soon as we got out of the cab we were surrounded by smiling faces and the positive vibes continued throughout our stay. My fondest memory of bamboo Cottages was the family dinner, the food was exquisite and the atmosphere was perfect for making new friends. The place is run by a family and often at night the father, Hai, who is a very charismatic and entertaining man, will sing, play guitar, and invite people up to join him. He is also a great story teller and at the end of the dinner we were lucky enough to hear stories about his family and how they escaped to America after the war. I could continue this review and tell you about the spectacular location, the beautiful 'stilt-house' we stayed in, the Kayaking trip we took

Just wonderful!!”
We have stayed three nights in Bamboo Cottage and it was very special and a great experience. The location is very quiet and relaxing. What we have preferred most was the individual and special approach at this eco-tourism place: It's run by solar power, there are no plastic bottles, but refill glas bottles and you have the feeling that there is a general feeling of great responsibility and sustainability towards the islands nature as well as employees and guests. The beach is really nice (no worries about the pier mentioned in some reviews - it's smaller than expected and while we were there it was barely in operation and was not loud at all!), food is exceptional and the staff always putting a smile on your face. Yoga classes are really good as well! The restaurant is located directly at the beach - so enjoy your time there with your feet in the sand and the sea breaze around. Highly recommended!

Superb Location, Average hotel”
This is probably one of the best locations on Phu Quoc and the setting with restaurant between trees and palms right by the beach is really something. Locations is 5 stars. Hotel is 2+. Our stay had a lot of minor flaws: - Little plastic pieces in one dish. - order mix ups at breakfast. - a leaking water tank on the roof, leaking a lot of water into our room - we reported this and a guy went to roof, crossing our no roof bathroom without warning, almost catching me with my pants down, literally. - Two lamps were dysfunctional. We reported it, and had to remind them to return them. These things can happen to anyone, it's just not dealt with very well. No apology, no making it up to us. Other places might have offered a free drink or even upgrade to a better room. One hotel upgrade us because the key didn't work for 5 minutes. The general staff is very nice and friendly, but the management seems inexperienced and not fully competent, although very trying. Also when you book a room they are very eager to get you to also book their transport to/from the airport. This is 30$ one way and apparently without profit. We got a metered cap at the airport, it was 25$. When leaving the kept asking about arranging transport. It was 22$ to town. We asked them to call a cap - they responded with an odd look. It was only 13$!?! A nice tip is to visit the near by Vung Bau resort, They have excellent food and their Lime juice is 15.000 not 45.000 dong and is not filled with ice. 5.000 extra if you don't want ice at Bamboo Cottage! The free kayaks are a huge plus and we received some helpful information as well. Bamboo Cottage seems to be one of the best options there is but it's far from perfect. Minor improvements could make for a better experience.

perfect situation”
At first I wanna say huge thank you to a staff who is sooo cute girl and fluently in English at reception. she took care for everything while i was staying here. also thank you to very friendly owner. He lived in USA and very good English speaker too. Actually this hotel is too far from downtown and it takes almost 40 minutes from airport by car. That's why it's perfect atmosphere... there's no noisy, fresh air, beautiful beach, nice restaurant, nice room and bathroom, friendly staff,,, absolutely you can have a relaxing time. I stayed just 1 night so I tried to do for a short while but if i have time I can go around this island by cheap rental motorcycle. anyway if you want take a good rest and get away from your routine life... I wanna say YOU have to stay here when you go to Phu Quoc.

Heaven on Earth”
Amazing. Bamboo cottages really is heaven on earth. The ride from the airport is a bit bumpy but the reward is worth it to really feel like you are on your own private island. The staff go out of their way to try and make your stay enjoyable. They are so nice and accommodating. I really admire their commitment to a "green hotel" . If you really want to get away from it all the bamboo cottages is the way to go,
