Luxury for little cost in the heart of Karon”
I stayed at Bamboo House in May 2011 for four nights during my trip to Thailand. My first impression of the room was WOW...I guess we had stayed in some cheap and cheerful accommodation in Northern Thailand the week before, so Bamboo House was quite luxurious to us! Everything was so clean and neat and I appreciated having a room safe, mini fridge (with two complimentary bottles of water provided each day), tea and coffee facilities, two beach towels and bag (which can be taken to the beach or any day trips), two umbrellas, telephone and dry cleaning service. Although try to avoid using the telephone for any mobile calls within Thailand – the charge is 30 baht a minute. The beds were low to the ground (mattresses on raised wooden platforms) and were very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and the shower had fantastic pressure. The toiletries provided (body wash, shampoo, conditioner, as well as shower cap) were great, the towels were big and fluffy, although there was no body lotion provided so pack your own if you need it. The TV (which doubles as a computer) has cable channels, however they are quite limited, so don’t rely on the channels on offer to keep you entertained. There is also a DVD player so bring a few movies along with you if you want to relax by watching TV at the end of a long day. We booked a superior room (which I understand is the same as a standard room, it is just located higher – standard rooms are in the basement). Our room was facing away from the street so it was very quiet. The hotel also has a small pool with about 10 deck chairs to sunbathe, which wasn’t used that much by guests during our stay, however we enjoyed a quick dip in there after a long day of cycling. There is also an outside shower and toilet facilities by the pool. Included in our room price was breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant Bamboo Kitchen, a classy and well presented place to dine. Breakfast is open from 6.30am to 10.30am every day.

Bamboo House Hotel was the highlight of our 10 nights in Phuket. All the staff greet you by name. It was Hermann's birthday on 26 August 2010. The staff surprised us with a birthday song and the sweetest little birthday cake, complete with Herman's name. A message to all reading this : Bamboo House Hotel is a True Jewel in Karon, and lastly message to the Bamboo House Hotel owner : You have got the very best hotel staff in Phuket!

no sea view but excellent customer service”
photos look good in agoda. Reviews are good too. Upon arrival still looks good but was extremely disappointed that it faces shophouses and it being a shophouse too. Wanted to.change hotels as what is a beach travel without a sea facing view? Particularly so when i booked the entire trip in this hotel. But was told rooms cant be changed so we stayed on rather reluctantly. Upon staying in was mesmerized by the wonderful customer service given. Staff were absolutely wonderful and eager to help in any way. You will always be greeted. Even at breakfast we were given a wonderful treatment. They really take of the little details. My goodness they even ask your choice of black tea! It is very personalised service indeed. And the best thing is that they even have free internet tv in your room! For this budget price i give my hats to the staff and management! The funny thing is that we were still adamant of a sea view room and moved hotel on the very last day. The hotel looks impressive but packed with people. Customer service was deeply lacking. You certainly will not experience.the welcome as experienced.in bamboo house.

Good, clean hotel with friendly staff.”
we had a great couple of nights stay at the bamboo house hotel. the room was clean and of a good size with a really comfortable bed was which is always a bonus when travelling. the staff were really friendly and gave you service with a smile. if you need anything, then just ask the reception staff as more than likely they can help you. there are cheaper hotels around if you're on a real tight budget, but we thought this was a good hotel. we would however stay in kata if we return to phuket as we found it had a better feel to it than karon and preferred the location.

Great rooms & service”
Bamboo House has awesome rooms equipped with big flat screens, mac minis, robes, a safe and even umbrellas. The decor is simple, clean and modern. The restaurant is probably one of the better ones in Karon. The hotel is a short walk to Karon beach, which is a long stretch of golden sand and the famous blue hue of the Andaman. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even packed a breakfast box for me since I had a super early departing flight. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel!”
The hotel is located at a safer distance from Karon beach and is situated among the mainstream karon shops. The bamboo theme is nice and great and goes well with the overall ambience. There is no life, but that didn't cause us any inconvenience. The reception staff were very helpful with smiling faces all the time. The room was as in the pictures and was neat and compact for a couple. One thing i liked in the cleanliness of the toilet although it is a bit small. There is a mac in every room connected to the TV instead of a monitor. It was quite helpful to keep in touch with the news and check mails occassionally. The swimming pool is small but neat. We enjoyed the breakfast, however we have seen better in other hotels. It would help if they change the breakfast varieties everyday. Overall, it is a place to be in Karon. Its neat, clean, calm and perfect.

great stay near beach”
It was a nice stay at Bamboo. Served with tasty welcome drink: don't-know-what berry juice:) we ordered standard room, at 'basement' and without pool view, but it was only a little bit lower than the pool, we can still enjoys the view outside, through the large windows. Our room was large and clean and equipped with Mac mini and high-speed WiFi connection. Hotel has provided as much necessaries as possible in bath room, even with the cotton tips. The only things need to bring are your own toothbrush and toothpaste - like many other hotels. Umbrellas and bath towels can be brought outside. Breakfast from 6-11 am with breads, fried rice and noddles, fruits and traditional Thai style dishes. Can also enjoys hams/fried eggs/sausages apart from that. Nice swimming pool which you can relax. Walking distance to Karon beach. If you like to choose a quiet place compared with Patong beach, Bamboo is a good choice.

Great hotel and a great location”
Although we only stayed in Karon one night, the hotel was very comfortable and clean and well located to explore the local area. Karon Beach was not as busy and touristy as Patong and Phuket. The Bamboo House would be a great place to stay for an extended period.

Great Surprise!”
I decided to stay at Bamboo House because of the price. It was a short weekend getaway at Phuket and we did'nt want to spend too much on accomodation. So I did not expect much from the hotel. However, it turns out to be a surprise package! We knew about the mini Imac and free Wifi before booking as we read about it in Trip Advisor. So it was great to have it in the room. Big hotels charged people for this things you know. The staffs were very friendly and both me and my wife find them sweet and attractive. Breakfast was ala carte and just nice to fill your stomach but not enough to last till lunch. Location was good as its just a 5 mins walk to our favourite Karon beach. Overall BambooHouse awed us and we will definitely return there.

Lovely and clean hotel with service oriented staff”
we had a marvelous stay in phuket at the bamboo house hotel. wonderful interiors, very good service and some excellent dining too, must recommend the hotel's bamboo kitchen for the blini and caviar and some exquisite salmon dishes. very reasonably priced too for a luxury hotel. my only qualm was that the restaurant is a bit far from the famous patong beacn and bangla road.

Fantastic value”
I had the pleasure of staying here with my wife for 5 days in August. We were impressed by the neatly designed rooms and the cute decorative use of bamboo. The rooms were comfortable and air conditioned, and the staff were mostly very helpful. The hotel's bar/restaurant offers some excellent food and cocktails, although keep in mind that it is a bit more expensive than smaller nearby restaurants. The pool is nice and, although small, it was always available and clean while we were there. The location of the hotel is very good. It is right in the center of Karon, with plenty of restaurants, bars, markets, street food, massage parlors, and salons very close by. There are no real pavements to speak of, but you will get used to that. Just keep a close eye on the traffic! I also highly recommend insect repellant, as the open drains attract mosquitoes, as is the case in many towns in Thailand. The beach, which is quite beautiful, is also just a short walk away. The umbrella seats are great value, and you can enjoy fruit drinks from nearby vendors. Pay close attention to the flags though, as the rip current can be dangerous. Like any cheaper hotel, the Bamboo House certainly has its idiosyncrasies. For instance, the bathroom doors do not extend either to the floor or the ceiling, which may create an unexpected challenge for new couples. In addition, the outdoor breakfasts tend to attract rather a lot of bees, which can be a little unnerving. But all in all, I'm extremely happy to have stayed here. For the traveler who is on a budget but appreciates the comfort of a nice hotel, I highly recommend this place.

Great Hotel”
We booked 4 nights at Bamboo house and had a great time. We arrived at the hotel at 9.30 am and were welcomed with a nice refreshing cocktail. Our room were ready even thought check in was at 12pm. The room were clean and spacious. The breakfast was not buffet style but was plentiful and very nice. On our last day they let us keep our room until 4pm because we had an evening flight. Each room had a LCD plasma tv and their own MAC computer, internet access was very efficient. We were given bottled water everyday and beach towels. Overall we had a fantastic time and would definitely go back to Bamboo House and would recommended it to our friends.

Lovely hotel and service”
Bamboo House is a lovely place to stay for all type of travel. We had a great time there! They offer a very good breakfast and reception. The room is very confortable and clean with a bamboo decoration. Have a free internet, Cable TV, aircondition, bathroom needs, nini-bar with free water, etc. It also is very well located short walks to the Karon Beach, restaurants, shoppings, everything. we really recommend.

gorgeous hotel seen at night”
when we arrive it was evening time, and we were surprised by the exterior design of the hotel, it got the flowing lights on bamboo wall with a chic restaurant full of people. it's really glamorous the recipient young lady is friendly, and the lobby design is very stylish and special too with a relaxing bench. it even got a small swing just outside the main entrance. we were on top floor(5th) and the hotel doesn't have elevator, so bell boy helped to carry our nearly 20kg luggage up and down with very polite attitude. we only booked superior room but it's nice enough. also full of the sense of design with a Mac mini. glass of bath room is transparent. we did find an ant the next morning on the bed but it didn't affect our sleep the night before at all. location is awesome pleasant stay, i'll really consider coming back to this hotel for my next visit to Karon beach

Fantastic Hotel for a budget price”
We totally enjoyed our stay at Bamboo House. Although it was surrounded by restaurants and shops etc, it was very quite. Our friends very staying at a resort about twice the price but were very jealous of our Hotel. Will be stayig there again when returning to Karon Beach.

Colourful and convenient”
We had a lovely stay at Bamboo House! The reception staff were very clued up, extremely friendly and went the extra maile to make sure we are happy and comfortable. The hallways are smelly and not that clean, but apart from that we had no complaints. We got amazing value for money as we had breakfast included. Bamboo is located in a very colourful and interesting part of Karon. The beach is only a 5min walk from Bamboo.

Terrific staff and 4star room - loved the place”
Staff were great and helpful, 4star quality room with super comfortable bed, separate beach towels, umbrella, heaps of towels all provided. Short walk to the beach about 5 mins. Yes it's Asia and there isnt a footpath so just deal with it. Great restaurants nearby. The restaurant at Bamboo House probably also was but a bit too pricey so i didn't give it a go - nice breakfast tho which was included. The restauarant is in a nicely ambient setting. Pool was small but underutilised so i had a good swim. Not a con for me but there is no elevator so people with mobility issues will have a problem.

Nice hotel, small and cozy”
Bamboo is a very nice looking hotel, it's located close to the beach, rooms are not big, but very well decorated, the whole bamboo theme is really nice. My room was equipped with computer, and internet is free, which is great. The computer is Mac mini, and it's somewhat slow, but still adequate for surfing and e-mails. The pool is very nice, it's not big, but the water is circulated well, the trestle beds are comfortable, breakfast is good.Overall it's hard to complain. I enjoyed staying in Bamboo, and would recommend it to anyone considering staying on Karon beach.

Good value for money hotel!”
We, 4 people (2 couples), spent 6 days in this hotel. We booked two rooms. In general we had a good stay in the hotel. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They upgraded us to the rooms with balconies for the first 3 days, because they were out of standard rooms. When the time came for us to move to the standard rooms, they prolonged the rooms with balcony for the whole of our stay in the hotel for free. It was nice of them, although we felt a bit uncomfortable at the through of moving between rooms i nthe very begining. The hotel is located quite close to the Karon beach and many restaurants. The breakfast in the mornings is average (the food often was missing on the plates, because people were taking food faster than staff was replacing it). My friends got cold because of the air conditioning and it was impossible to get it perfect: the air flow is strong, blowing right on the beds, where you are sleeping. The bathroom was rather small, compared to the hotel we had lived in during our stay in the Kata beach. In conclusion, I believe we would not be able to find a better hotel for the price paid in that area.

4th time here”
This is the 4th time I've stayed here at Bamboo House. They improved their wifi since I was here last. They also provided a nice 20% discount for food during your stay. Breakfast is okay. Options for various cultures - salad, Asian, Western, plus fruit, juices, cereals, breads, and coffee. Room was very clean. Be prepared for steps as there is no elevator. 5 minute walk to the beach but it's along a busy road. The other side of the street has more of a sidewalk. On their side of the street the motor bikes have taken over the walking lane. Great access to the beach from Karon Beach. They've added multiple kid play areas and volleyball areas to the beach area.
