Just nice ”
Just phi phi style the bamboo mountain resort is about 10 minuets walk from the beach and you will need to klimb around 50 to 70 meters over see level .. But it gives you a safe feeling and it is .. Remember the tsunami from 2004 The accommodation is very simple: bad, mosquito net , wc / shower, roof and door even a small Tv is inside and AC! you will like it. They also provide free Internet acces and the breakfast is more then enough . if yo dont like music till 06.00 am ( every day are beach party's at phi phi ) bamboo is a location Where you can sleep .

Good value for money, friendly and anxious staff”
First of all, of course this place is not cheap but we are talking about Phi Phi, so this means the price is quite average. Second, if you book a bamboo hat in the jungle, please don't complain about animals entering your shack, especially if you sit on the porch with your lights on and your door opened. That said, the place is actually nice. It is a small hike up the hill, but this is exactly the reason you don't hear anything from the noisy and busy "Tonsai Village". The pool clearly has seen better days but it's enough for a quick refresh after breakfast or before dinner. The hats have all basic amenities you need, warm water is actually working and there was a complete mosquito net in our room. I would reccomend to book an AC room, it's worth it. Breakfast buffet was okay, it featured eggs, sausages, toast, fresh fruits, yoghurt, juice and instant coffee and tea.

Tucked away ”
Overall we enjoyed bamboo mountain view. It's tucked away from where all the action is still only a 5 to 10 minute walk to the beach, shopping and restaurants. There are little shops close by selling drinks and other various things though. There's also a pool and bar. Negative: had a few frogs in our bathroom and rustling in our walls at night. Plus: the resort is far enough away so you can sleep, because the music at the beach can go till 3:30am and it pumps. Saw the occasional monkey too!

Nice basic hotel with friendly staff in quiet area”
nice basic hotel with friendly staff located on a 10min walk from the claustrophic dirty little center of phi phi town. I used to live on phi phi so know the island pretty well. this little basic hotel offers value for money (keeping in mind that phi phi is expensive and overpriced). Nice to swim a bit at their pool in the beautiful mountain location. breakfast was included but a bit too basic.in general for the price you pay one of the best deals around...

nice hotel but the swimming pool was dirty”
i thought that the hotel was too far away. to get there you have to walk down an unlit dirt road. the pool was also green and dirty and there were lots of mosquitoes. i enjoyed the stay but it is hard not to when you are staying on phi phi island. the service was good aswell.

Far away, friendly hotel.”
Stayed for 3 nights in a fan bungalow. Someone came and picked us up at the pier, then carried our bags all the way up in a cart. Pretty far away from center, up hills and area passed on the way. Pretty dead around. Pool looked clean, internet only at the reception/restaurant area. Friendly staff. Bungalow was worn out, smelled a bit moist, holes in the bamboo "wall" in the bathroom, cramped and small bathroom. The sink was weird, and no where to put your toiletries. Dirty bathroom carpet, I don't think they get washed. A few mosquitoes, but there was a whole net to hang over the bed. Door has a small padlock, not very fancy and probably very easy to open if wanted. 2 chairs and table outside the bungalow, nice for relaxing. Not very loud, which was nice, cuz the party on the beach could go on until 5 in the morning I think. Bad cleaning, no new bedsheets, no new towels and no toilet paper. There was warm water thank god! Overall, it was ok! Budget bungalow resort.

Truly a Bamboo hotel”
The hotel is suitable for young people because the DJ is playing music whole day at the pool.Drinks were quite cheap at the pool bar but the food in the hotel was quite terrible. Recommend to eat at the centre of Phi Phi, there are lots of nice restaurants. Our room was okay with the fan and mosquito nets over the bed (but neighbour told us that they had found a small scorpio in their room, true or not, don't know).

Staying at guest house would have been a better choice”
First off, I didn't get the rooms that I booked way ahead of time. When we got to the Phi Phi island, the hotel was really far from the beach and was hard to find. The hotel staff had not prepared the rooms ready and we had to wait for about 15 minutes for them to sort the rooms out. The pillows were molded and the shower smelled like dead rat the first time we turned it on. They wouldn't provide enough pillows and blankets, they were short on towels as well even when I asked for it. Some of the bungalows smelled like they haven't been cleaned in a while. I will give this hotel a point for its friendly staff who helped us organized a BBQ and made our final night a little better. The pool is pretty clean and we spent much of our stay by the poolside. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone and I don't intend to stay there when I visit Phi Phi again. 2/10

Great place to stay here”
i don't really understand all the negativity. we stayed in a bamboo bungalow for two nights. it was a fan room on the highest floor and we knew it was going to be basic. we read it was basic so we knew what we were in for. during our holiday in thailand we wanted to experience a stay in a bamboo bungalow and it was a nice stay. it's al very basic and the shower and toilet are simple, but clean.

Good resort for people want to live near the hill”
We stay one night at this resort. The resort located up on the hill so ot was very tired to climb the the resort not recomended to family holiday. The toilet is clean. The staff is very friendly just ask them towel and they bring it up to the hill resort we gave him cigarette as a tip. Too many mosquitoes you should bring some repelant and the resort also equipped with mosquitoe net for sleeping.

One of the worse place to sleep in Phi Phi”
Stayed 1 night, second time in Phi Phi. Big disappointment, no one to pick us up at the pier (walking distance more than 20 min). The resort is located on a hill side far from Phi Phi center, tourists attraction and shops, no light along the path in the night time (pretty risky) to get to your bungalow. The view is not as good as expected. The room was not clean, full of insects, dirty sheets, very hard mattress, brown smelly water for your morning's shower, etc… No breakfast included, the pool stinks, we didn't even dare to have a swim. Useless staff as they spend the day sleeping in the"lobby". We are still wondering how this resort can worths 3 stars.

Nice name shame about the location”
We arrived here and had checked out and found another hotel within an hour! Not somewhere for those who cant walk up stairs, although it was more like mountain climbing than stair walking! The rooms were very basic old. On the plus side the 'resort' staff seemed friendly from the limited interaction we had with them. I would definately class this as a 'resort' for adventure lovers

Lovely hotel up the mountain. Away from the crowds”
We originally booked into a fan room, but changed to air con after the first night. The fan rooms are up loads of steps so not ideal after a night out! The aircon was lovely, we were right in front of the pool so good to chill out during the day. It's a bit of a walk (mostly uphill) from the center so bear that in mind. Would stay again!

Horrible walk...”
Massive walk from town. Have to walk through a building site to get to the resort. Only couple things on menu. Pool was awful, dirty and too much clorene - my black swimming shorts were brown by the time we left. Needed better light in the room. Needed stronger curtains Overall we got what we paid for, it's cheap accommodation. As long as you don't mind bugs in the walls, massive walk to your hut (the stairs were like 1 foot high each!) & are prepared to go to the bea h instead of the toxic pool then it's fine.

Not for gourmets or punctuality freaks”
Hungry people & those needing a punctual departure should maybe avoid this place – the cook apparently has frequent benders and decides not to come in, resulting in guests sitting around at breakfast with nothing happening. Other staff did the usual local thing: pretending there was no problem and that I was invisible. Eventually I managed to shame an older woman into making me some scrambled eggs, toast and coffee – pretty basic but at least filling. The place itself is average for this lower price range – reasonably spacious room, quiet aircon, good bed and net, far enough away from the clubs at the beaches/in town for noise to not be a problem. I couldn’t get the older tv to work – the multifunctional remote sent Thai script instructions to the screen. This place is hard to locate from the pier at least 20 minutes walk away – best email to be met at the boat. I didn’t come in on a scheduled ferry but know this area up around the dam pretty well. Note the last few hundred meters are very steep – as is access to most rooms at the resort built up a steep hillside. Unfit dudes should ask for the dearer poolside first row rooms. A guest told me the small attractive pool was clean but heavily chlorinated. There are much better similarly priced places in this area – check Imphu Viewpoint.

was put in the anex of the rooms”
Upon arriving we had the idea it be 'up the mountain' which didn't bother us, but at the reception the was a miss understanding with the booking we made through Agoda and basically we ceased to exist for check in. After a couple of hours our room was ready, after climbing to the highest peaks of the resort we was greated by what word I used and sums it up, the anex of bungalows. No mosquito net to start with, but a nice one with holes in was set up. The bathroom was dire, if it wasn't the sink badly mounted on some concrete or the poor shower or just that it had a foul mould stench. And the odd hole in the wall. I'm sure if there wasn't a balls up with our booking we may have ended up with half decent bungalow. Otherwise going off my experience there seemed to be far closer and better accommodation in town.

Very good service, and nice rooms”
Was just difficult to get to the top rooms, but apart from that it was a wonderful stay

Good staff, horrible location, assassin bugs”
Hotel is hard to find. It's literally up a hill. Through a residential area. Pass a reservoir or something. Up a steep hill. It's the reception. Our room was up the steepest flight of stairs. Right at the top. Porter struggled with my luggage and almost fell twice. Have him 100 baht tip. Sadly it was the only hotel at our budget online for the new year. Lesson learnt. Room looks like a hut where they jailed Rambo in Vietnam. Wanted to close the curtain but it was caked in dust so left it alone. Saw this weird tiny creature on the bed. Tried to brush it off but it jumped onto the wall. Decided to ignore. (Too tired to care as the hike just killed us). No tv. We booked a fan room. Toilet is clean but beware creepy crawlies. Turned of a tap and there was slime on my hand. Realized there was a slug on the faucet. No phone in the room so you're pretty much on your own if a tropical yeti bursts in. No in room safe. Key to room is just a padlock. Talk about state of the art security. We dropped our key once and it fell through the grill flooring. My mate had to crawl beneath the flooring to get it. Poor guy. We did not get drunk on New Year's Eve cause we knew we'd have to be really sober to head back and hike up those perilous stairs. It's in a forested hill so becareful of flying insects the size of your hand swooping in. We booked twin beds but was given a double. If it rained we'd fight over the blanket. Checking out was like a relief. The hike back to the jetty was a workout. It's New Years so I guess the hike in price. We paid $65 for this room. We got an adventure. Haha! Usually half of that price would get me closer to town. Lesson learnt I guess.
