Overall great experience”
Overall, this was a great stay. We picked Racha Island because we were looking for a more secluded island. We did in fact find it here. We had been to other islands in the region and found that this was the most beautiful and most secluded. (As I write this, I realize by telling everyone about it by writing a good review, that more people may come, so I am hesitant to continue...) This resort was, to my knowledge, one of two on the island. It had great service, friendly people, good atmosphere and beautiful setup. The room was clean and orderly, as you would expect. The restaurant was very good and the room rate was right. In the morning, we watched the sunset and then rang the "designated" bell for "good fortune" all beside a beautiful infinity pool. I walked the 15 minutes to the other resort (I could have gotten a ride from the hotel) and beach and did some scuba diving. And although Ban Raya Resort did not have the beautiful white sand beach that the other resort had it was only a short walk away. Again, I had been to other islands in the area (Ko Phi Phi, for example), and thought that this was the best place of them all. I only wish I could have had more time to stay. I would recommend this resort for sure.
this resort is the best value. staffs and the view of surroundings was excellent. i think raya island is one of the best islands in southeast asia. i’d like to visit this resort one more time. room type : standard room (fan)_ but i haven’t felt any hot in the room. staffs : excellent_especially when i left the resort i don’t forget the kindness they showed me. cleanliness : good_ if you don’t expect same as “the racha resort”, you are contented with here. and you can see a lizard, snake on the road when you are working. restaurant : threr is no restaurant except this resort's, so you don't have any choice to choose others. but the food they served was good. location : not bad_ i think the best beach is “patock beach” in front of the racha resort. but it’s not far from banraya resort to reach there. it takes 15 min by walk. also banraya resort has a good beach, konker, which is knew to people as a good diving point.
We enjoyed the laidback atmosphere at Ban Raya. The island is great in that you can get to all the beaches of the island on foot. The Ban Raya beach is great for snorkeling. The food is great, the fruit shakes are fantastic, and the environment is great for chilling out!
Fantastic hotel with great location!”
Situated next to Phuket island and looks like paradise! Small cozy Raya island with quiet atmosphere is ideal place for calm rest with children. Our bungalow was situated next to Lobby in beautiful palm garden. Nice pool, great breakfasts with lots of choice. Restaurant is good, but quite expensive. Our deluxe room seemed small and narrow for our family (2 adult and 2 toddlers). so, we made upgrade and relocated to Pavilion Room (huge and very convenient)
Quite overpriced for such old rooms, without internet and some basic things (fridge, pot)”
Swimming pool and the views - make it a must-live-in hotel during your Racha stay. I travelled with father and my 4yo son, we stayed few nights at the Patok Beach, and one night at Ban Raya - and it was worth it. If you ignore the old/yellow room-states, absence of refrigerator and wifi, and focus on swimming pool views, sunrise views, snorkelling at Ban Raya's private beach (a LOT of fishes!!) - its just amazing experience. I would definitely book Ban Raya again once in Racha, but when I'm not on restrained budget - get their villa or higher priced rooms, that are newer and cleaner from what I saw.
Lovely compfortable hotel with a friendly service”
The Ban Raya is a very nice hotel with nice gardens and pool area. The staff was very friendly, the food delicious and the rooms very compfortable. This should be re considered by the hotel management. I can recommend this hotel and will stay there again.
Our family stayed for two nights here last year during New Year. We loved this resort: its easy access to the snorkeling area, its pool, its garden, and its friendly staff. On new year eve, the resort even offered free buffet dinner for all residents in the dinning area. It was really a great memory. The food in the restaurant taste good and price is reasonable. We only walked to the the Racha once because we enjoyed the quietness and beautiful scenery here better. The old facilities in the room was the only thing we think was a minus, but it has everything we need.
Nice resort to rest.”
location : one time transfer at morning, you'd better confirm your transfer oneday before. 15min~20min walk from patok bay pier where boat arrived. to me location was very good, quiet, clean, large garden with alot of palm tree. staff : very friendly and kind staff with a nice smile :) they are not so perfect at english, but always smile and try their best to make client feel more comfortable. room condition : oversimplified but not that bad as i expected. just like normal 3star room. if you want somewhere nice and modern interior you'd better to go 'the racha.'not recommended for honeymooners. recommend for eco-friendly lover. watch out for insect. restaurant : not so good, no it is bad... for breakfast buffet almost same food everyday especially fruit never change. if you're fruit lover, better to buy fruit at mainland as much as you can. thai food is better to order of course. don't recommend non-thai food. (if you want any non-thai food, better to go the racha and order) need alot of improvement at food. activities : nice swimming pool with a nice view , but little cold tamperature. konkare bay is located next to the swimming pool, need to wear aqua shoes with the beginning many dead corals and stone will hurt your foot. but better than patok bay, more things to see. (for kids, patok and siam bay will be easy for swimming and snorkeling. more calmwith white sands) at windy day both impossible at konkare bay) diving shop is located one min infront of reception desk, with very good instructers and equipment. have spa, 1hour program charge average 600 ~ 800baht. there is massager who do not understand english, her skill is better than others. if i go racha islands again, of course i will comeback here. but restaurant really need to be improved!
Great place for a relaxing time”
I stayed there with 2 of my friends for one night. A Saturday night. Getting to hotel is by the speed boat arranged by the hotel. Boat and the service is good, but it is good if the separate price for the boat is informed early. Hotel transfer from the pier is arranged (5 - 8mins). Rooms (Cottages) are good, but the A/C is was not available during the day time. Restaurant and the food was very good. Private beach (Konkare beach) is great, we did snookering. Pool was great too, it has a nice view with the sea (kind of infinity pool) Had a great WiFi coverage thought out the hotel premises (even by the Koknare bay) but in the hotel room it was not good. Had a Aromatherapy massage in the Spa, it is decent. Return to Phuket by speed boat, some refreshments are provided on the way. Less crowded hotel, good staff and good food. Perfect for a relaxing weekend with some water activities.
the best natural scenery but oversimplified room”
i had booked both ban raya and the racha when i reached raya island. in terms of scenery, ban raya is more natural, like countryside and i love this style. but when it comes to room, ban raya is oversimplified .
The resort grounds gave a relaxing mood. It's not an up tight place and puts us in the mood of a relaxing holiday. There is a small gift shop, dive shop, a pool table, and massage room. The swimming pool is located on high ground and overlooks the seas, very nice. The restaurant provides good food and great smiling service every time. The room is clean. The toilet seems to take almost half the room size. There is free wireless wifi which is available even in the room. The private beach isn't really a sandy beach. So if you are looking for a beautiful sandy beach at the resort, you will be disappointed. The resort beach is good for hermit crab spotting. There are very nice white sandy beaches around the island. Just a couple of minutes walk away.
"Great location but small rooms”
Ban Raya resort and Spa i love your beautiful swimming pool, your scenry, your diving bay, and your quietness, really wonderful. When i was lying on swimming chair beside the sea, i was so relaxed, soft but cool sea wind touched my face. In the morning at 5:30, we got up, waiting for the sun rise. When we saw the sun rising from the sea, how excied we all were. but the room is too small and the fan room is really hot before 11pm, so we had to go back to the room after 11pm
Idyllic location - perfect chillax”
this was our 5th stay at ban raya - every time we go new services and facilities are being added. as the resort has vast amount if land it has not affected its charm so far - though day trippers make the place feel a bit like conveyer belt albeit for two hours a day only.
we have spent two days in this hotel! it seemed that the whole hotel just had our 4 persons, so it's very quite! however, ban raya doesn't have a good beach and we had to go to the Racha's beach by bike.
Near the finest dive spot in the Racha island, if you are a dive lover or snorkling lover ,and dont have so much requirement of the accomondation, it is the hotel to choose. The surrounding is very natual like a garden, to awake in the woods and hear birds singing in the morning is relaxing. Dont have hot water to shower. The swiming pool is fabulous! The food is good but much more expensive and service is slow.
The hotel is not near the Raya Island port ”
We had a great stay at this hotel, however, if you arrive at the Raya Island port you will need to take a car (actually it is a tractor) to the hotel it will take about 10 minutes, but do not worry because when you just arrive at the hotel you will love it. The hotel has a good place for snorkeling.
A quiet resort along the coast”
Along the coast, easier to get to the snorkeling point, though there was no private beach to walk on barefoot. A range of outdoor activities can be chose, horse riding~ snorkeling~scuba diving. We had tranquil time there while in raya island~
Great location but small rooms”
great location but small rooms and have insects.if you wanna eat outside, you gotta walk 10mins to racha father or racha hotels, the road have no light, but the experience is really funny.they got a swimming pool which can see ocean forward.
Ban Raya an average hotel on Raya Island”
Unlike The Raya and Bangalow Raya Hostel, Ban Raya is more like a village and has many space for you to explore. I climb down the cliff near The God of Raya and found the best spot to enjoy the sun rise in Raya Island. 180 degree sea view facing East allow you to enjoy the whole sun rise. Moreover, the swimming pool also has a great view. It's a very nice place for you to relax after spending whole day in the sea.
The Banraya Resort was a real surprise, the rooms were large, roomy and comfortable. I had the standard fan room and I thought I was going to have to endure hot, humid and mosquitoes infested nights – but I was wrong! The room was cool and mosquito netting protected us from the mossies! The resort has it own little ‘private beach’ which was a treat and a good alternative when the main beach (Patok Bay) got a little too crowded. The pool was fabulous and the food served at the restaurant was great.
