Our best stay in Mudgee - so far”
Can't wait to come back
Thanks Kristina, since this was your 6th visit to Mudgee, we are thrilled Bandalong ticked all the boxes. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Cheers Diana
The cottage was very clean, well equipped and presented. The bed was comfortable. We stayed in Stringybark which was far enough away from anything else on the property to feel private and had a pleasant outlook into the surrounding trees and cleared areas. Cosy in the evening with a fire going in the fireplace. The cottages are just few minutes drive from Mudgee. The location is ideal if you want to be away from the town but plan to go into Mudgee for meals or shopping. We tried to play one of the selection of DVDs in the cottage (The Reader with Kate Winslett) which wouldn't play as the DVD machine said it was the wrong region. I then set up to play a movie from my laptop onto the TV. This was a bit fiddly as the TV and DVD player were quite old with no USB on the TV and just 1 HDMI input. The DVD player had a USB input but couldn't read my USB stick. I finally used the HDMI from the DVD player to get the movie from my laptop to show on the TV screen.
Hi Alan, thanks so much for taking the time to post your review. It was lovely to meet you both and glad you got to enjoy the quietness of country but the closeness of Mudgee town some 6 minutes drive from your cottage. Thanks also for the heads up on the DVD The Reader. We were gifted a load of DVDs from friends (including our mates that lived some time overseas) and we checked them to see that they 'still worked'. Your DVD must have slipped through the cracks so we will check them again. Seems like you and technology are well acquainted... glad you got to settle in for the night with a movie and a gorgeous Mudgee port. We look forward to welcoming you back to Bandalong sometime soon. Cheers to that
Cannot Fault the Place”
It really is like a home away from home. Everything has been considered when fitting out the kitchen and the other rooms. Made use of the WeberQ on the patio one night. Hosts gave us a pleasant welcome too. Highly recommend this place. It is so peaceful.
Hi Andrew, thank you so much for your review... and thanks for your support. Love that you got to use all the homely touches that we've added to the cottage, and yes, being 5 mins drive to town, the peace and quiet is welcomed by guests. Did you notice that Mudgee has no traffic lights? You gotta love that. See you here soon so you can crank up the fire and nestle in for the cool nights. Cheers
An Eco friendly home away from home. ”
So very nice to stay in your own separate house away from neighbours. There was nothing missing and the landlord was available but in obtrusive. Don't tell too many people or we won't be able to stay next time!!!
Hi Chris, thanks for your review. We are the new owners of Kirima Cottage and have recently renovated the cottages to a 4 1/2 star specification. The clean country air, stars and 6 minutes to town remain the same, but the cottage facilities and inclusions have helped make the Mudgee experience that little bit more enjoyable (we like to think). Would love to see you back our way soon. Cheers Diana
We stayed at Stringybark cottage for the ANZAC long weekend. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. Slightly out of town but not a long drive and close to Burnbrae vineyard and cellar door which is excellent. Had a great weekend!
Enjoyed the stay”
Really comfortable cabin in the bush land yet close to town. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and our puppy had loads of fun.
Cool place to stay”
Fantastic wonderful quiet
Stay was excellent and would recommend to anyone
quiet bush getaway”
wonderful just what we were after. a quiet self contained cabin with a fire.
I honestly could not fault these cottages. My fiancé and I stayed in the Cypress cottage and were blown away by the cleanliness and overall feel of the cottage - very homely and cosy. Our dealings with Diana were a breeze and she was so helpful in giving us tips for places to eat and see during our stay. We can't wait to come back! Luke & Jess
Thanks Luke and Jess for your fab review. What a terrific weekend you had in Mudgee, and glad we (and Bandalong) played a positive role... despite the chilly nights, the cottages have great insulation, so they really are cosy and homely. The electric blankets, wood burning fire and a nice glass of Mudgee Shiraz also adds to the cosy experience. We look forward to welcoming you back to Bandalong sometime soon, as there is much more to explore. Thanks for taking the time to write... Cheers Diana
