I booked this hotel only a few weeks before arriving for the marathon weekend, it is perfectly located, right next to the metro, a nice walk to the beach and perfect location for the marathon start. The hotel was perfect, staff very friendly and the breakfast was incredible. The cleaners especially massively impressed me, on two occasions we were still In our room when they came by, without even having to ask them to come back we just assumed they would leave our rooms for those days but both we came back to perfectly made beds and clean rooms. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. If we come to Barcelona again this is 100% where we're staying. Fantastic

Great Hotel in Great Location”
Stayed here for 2 nights in Early October. Very friendly staff, clean rooms, well maintained. Nice rooftop bar. I didn't eat breakfast here as I booked RO. Only downside was the early check out of 11am but hotel was very accommodating in storing luggage. Would highly recommend for a short stay in Barcelona.

Near Port Vell and Beach”
Located near attractions esp Port Vell and Barcelona Beach. Can walk to La Rambla and Plaza Catalunya. A lot of eateries. Strongly recommended-- El Capricho BCN--- roast chicken only 9 euro and very well-marinated and Asian Ways – big bowl of ramen and soup, staff were friendly and chatty.

Overall a very nice place to stay. Good location, clean and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. A couple of issues with room - some power sockets were inoperative and shower temperature a little hit and miss. This did not mar the overall experience and we would definitely return.

Exceptional”
The place is next to the metro station and convenient to almost anywhere. It is walking distance to the pedestrian street (lively and bustling) that has lots of restaurants serving pinchos and tapas. Several members of the staff went out of their way to help us especially Christian. He spent valuable time to do something for us in the internet for there was NO english version. Marcelo also provided valuable information during our stay there as well as Ophelia. The rest of the staff are friendly and professional. It is very clean and comfortable.

Hotel Barcelona Universal was a very good value; great location, close to the beach, la rambla, and metro, within the theatre district. Staff was very helpful and rigorous with cleaning both the room and common facilities. Truly incredible rooftop deck and solarium; panoramic views of the city and a great place to read and relax. Strongly recommended.
