    Nice hotel with friendly staffs”

different room themes, spacious room, affordable rates

Before my hubby and I went to tagaytay, we searched first for the different hotels in the city and read the reviews about them. We got interested when we learned that Theodore hotel has different room themes and that their rates are affordable. And so we booked this hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, we were received by their friendly staffs. We were informed that we were to stay in the modern Filipino room. The room was nice and spacious. We felt at home upon seeing it. However, that night, I got curious on how the other rooms looked like. And so the following morning we asked the receptionist if it would be okay to transfer to another room for our second day. I was really happy when we were informed that we can transfer to another room. That room was the Whimsical Garden. This room was also good though I find our first room nicer. But the idea of having different themes for the rooms is really cool. Another good thing about our stay in Theodore is that they have delicious breakfast. For day 1, I got bacon + hashbrown and hubby got their tapa. For day 2, I got tuna and cheese omelette + hashbrown + pandesal while hubby got their hungarian sausage. All of these foods come with coffee + juice + fruits...so yummy! For sure, we will go back to Theodore hotel soon.

Overpriced hotel but with friendly staff”

great breakfast, big bed, friendly and knowledgable staff

My first impression of the room is that is was for a low budget hotel. The aircon is noisy and there was no window. It smelled like an old rag. I immediately requested for a change of room but the staff told me there was no smell and all the aircons at the hotel were that noisy. To think it was on 17 degrees High but it was not really cold. There is also no soundproofing in the rooms that I could actually hear the people walking at the hallway. Anyway, we had to live with it since we already paid for it online. The staff is friendly and knowledgable of the places around Tagaytay. Parking was convenient. The breakfast selection is good and the serving is great. There is a nice view of the mountains by their garden. Overall, hotel was overpriced for the size and ambience of the room.

Relaxing short stay, clean and comfortable”

Location near the way to Taal, cleanliness, nice design

Overall, enjoyed the stay there for one night. I couldn't enjoy everything there which they offer due to short time though. Pros: - good location, if you are for Taal in Tagaytay, this hotel is the best. You just walk out of hotel and turn right going a few meters to 7/11 where is the jeepney station for going down to taal boat station. also if you take your left from the hotel you can walk up for about 15 minutes (or by jeepney/tricycle) to the famous restaurant "josephine" which I recommend. -nice outside terrace with a very beautiful view and a small cottage. -inside the hotel very nice interior, interesting design -hotel is new -clean rooms Cons: -view from my room was none. I could see the wall only. -soundproof is not so good.

    No hot shower.”

Good hotel rooms but who would imagine being in a place as cold as tagaytay without hot shower? Even if they have nice rooms and relatively affordable rates, I will never return to a hotel (in a COLD place such as tagaytay) w/o hot shower.

Enchanting botique hotel but needs improvement”

The bed was so relaxing, it was perfect for a stress-relieving break.

We were looking forward to a stress-free break that's why we chose Tagaytay and Theodore. The rooms were great - the beds were perfect, we overslept because of its comfort. There were enough pillows for sleeping, we didn't have to request for more. Their soap was addicting, too. They had board games available, a complimentary sweet dessert at night, and a spa, too. The food quality and service, though, needs improvement. It was the first time I encountered a cockroach in my coffee; the items in the menu weren't all there, and the steak I ordered was tough. We should've just eaten outside since this hotel's strength is in its ambience, interior and design. Perfect for rest, not for good dining.

    New, Clean, Cozy

After reading the reviews about The Theodore Hotel, we were convinced to check out the place and was truly delighted. We booked the room via Agoda and got a good rate. Upon check in, we are greeted by friendly staff and they were nice to offer us a free breakfast! Each room have a different theme, we stayed at the Modern Filipino room complete with amenities and hot shower. The hotel is new and clean, i especially like the decor and furniture pieces which adds overall cozy feel. Free WIFI service but only in the Lobby area which is fine with us since we are there to unwind. The garden offer a fantastic view of Taal Volcano and the lake, would also recommend to have the breakfast there. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will come back. Definitely recommend this place to friends!

    Great Location and Excellent Service”

Nice View of Taal, Excellent Staff Service, Comfortable Stay

The Theodore Hotel is definitely a wonderful botique hotel! My wife and I loved our stay during a holiday weekend, surprisingly the hotel is really quiet even if they are fully booked. Their staff are attentive and friendly. The room is big and the bed is comfortable. We left the hotel to have dinner and when we came back, The room was cleaned and they even gave a cake as a midnight treat compliments of the hotel. Breakfast was good also. Even if it is only a set meal and not a breakfast buffet, they give big servings. They also offer you juice, coffee, and fruits. We will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone, especially couples or family on a short vacation.

    Room Comfort, Location, Staff Performance

This is a modest but elegant boutique hotel. The spacious rooms are brilliantly designed and very comfortable. I loved the complimentary massage. The included breakfast was delicious. And I love the fact that though it is right smack in the middle of the busy city, it still provides the feeling of coziness and relaxation. I will definitely come back in the future.

    Good”

The hotel is clean and rooms are nice. However they do not have mini refs inside their rooms. The garden was very nice as well. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. I've been here a few times and this is one of my go to hotels in tagaytay. It is also right in front of the mall so location is quite convenient. It is pricy though if you don't get it at a discount. Never had much of a problem. Except when I was staying here last time one of their staff entered inside another guest room w/out permission while the guest where asleep inside! There was a commotion and police got involved. Don't know what happened after as we already checked-out.

Interesting decor and a great view”

Close proximity to restaurants and shopping, great view, clean and modern rooms

the theodore hotel has nice rooms with modern and artistic decor. at the back of the hotel, the gazebo is a great place to relax and take in the wonderful view of the lake and taal volcano. i was surprised to have multiple options for the breakfast, and the public areas were great places to lounge around and relax. i had actually booked the hotel in august of 2012, but since a typhoon put everything on hold, they were kind enough to rebook me for when i came back to the philippines in december. i think it is worth a stay. they only areas of improvement could be widening the signal of the wifi and fixing the broken safe in the room.

    Stylish design and amazing view”

    View, friendly staff, nice ambiance

The hotel has an amazing view. We took the room without the lake view, but it had a nice internal yard. The staff was very professional and accommodating. You can have some privacy and at the same time you feel taken care of. Unlike some of the other hotels in the same area, it is very new, so it is very clean inside. The only strange thing was electronic lounge music during breakfast; it was good, but just did not fit the peaceful landscape. Otherwise, excellent stay and I can recommend this comfortable and stylish hotel to anyone.

    Staff, hotel design, breakfast

We went to for Valentine get-away, and I must say it turned to be one of the best Valentines. Check-in was prompt, and the staff was super friendly and attentive from the first till the last moment of our stay. Every request was answered "yes" and delivered quickly. Things to like about hotel: unique design that makes the experience special; great staff; 30 min massage we got for free; large and tasty breakfast; WiFi in the rooms and the lobby; relaxing atmosphere. If you are looking for a nice weekend with your significant other, choose Theodore - you won't regret! A tip: if you want to have a nice dinner, I'd suggest to go 50m down the road to Pamana - that's a great Filipino restaurant, nicely designed and with tasty food

    Comfortable stay, wonderful view

The hotel is close by the main hwy intersection, easy to find. You are very surprised when you enter the double doors. The rooms are very nice. They have a restaurant, it serves filipino food--and its really nicely prepared. While tempting to eat outside, remember, the mosquitos enjoy a nice meal outside as well. Everything we expected.”

Personalised service, great views, sumptious breakfasts, excellent facilities, well appointed rooms, service with a smile

We had a very relaxing and untroubled stay for two nights at this boutique hotel. It definately met our expectations and we would recommend this hotel to anyone requiring the intimate personalised service that a smaller hotel such as this offers. We were lucky to have the Theodore room which offered wonderful views of Taal lake. I celebrated my birthday here and was greeted with lovely fondue and fruits and birthday wishes. The staff never failed to offer friendly smiles and advice and we were even offered a complimentary massage which my wife adored. Highly recommended hotel as I travel to the Philippines regularly and have sampled many establishments.

    Very satisfied and highly-recommended!”

Spacious and comfortable rooms, relaxing garden with great over-looking view of Taal, great snacks/breakfast

Tried this botique hotel last V-day. The staff were nice and attentive. They even glazed our room with rose-petals while we were out and it totally surprised me & my wife when we got back. Menu is just a small selection but it's good. Try the tinapa with kesong-puti sandwhich. They also have another good variant which is the omelette. Will definitely go back to this hotel.

I am a native English speaker, but I do not know what the words "you review title mean" so I can not respond to this section. ”

While this hotel was very good, it had one very major deficiency. There was no hot water. They stated that there was hot water but there was none. I do not understand this. I could refer other friends to this location, but will not do so because there is no hot water. So the lack of hot water has cost the hotel more money than it would take to fix the problem. A very poor business decision. On the positive side, the staff was excellent. Very very helpful. Paul was especially helpful. The lady at the front desk spoke excellent English as was also very helpful. Thank you for your service.
