Beyond Amazing”
Every 5 star review you have read doesn't even touch on the hospitality, friendliness and pure enjoyment we experienced at Batik Boutique. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming, & genuine. It was like walking into a friends place and having a chat. The rooms are great: spacious, clean as can be and stocked with great coffee, tea and all amenities you would need. The bath tub even had bath salts, however we didn't have time to experience those. Food around town is good but if you have any specific needs the staff tell you where to find it, what is good and draw it out on their own Batik Boutique map. We stayed 1 night, followed by another night in Mulu. After this experience we came back to Kuching after Mulu and stayed another night as the service was beyond any review or normal hotel experience. I have never stayed in a hotel that offers the use of their shower post check-out! After checking out we visited Bako National Park before our 9pm flight. Understandably we were a bit sweaty, and the fine folk at Batik Boutique offered (we didn't even ask!) us the use of a spare room to have a quick shower before our flight. As I said, I have never ever heard of a hotel treating anyone this way post check-out. Worth going back to Kuching from Sydney simply to experience the hotel again! Thank you so much.
The Best Hotel in Malaysia”
The Batik Boutique Hotel is one of those hard to find hotels, where there are plenty of pros and no cons. Summarizing is a fantastic hotel, worth 5 stars, with outstanding service that make you feel at home, with spacious, comfortable and clean rooms with all kinds of accessories that make your stay even better. Going into detail, each and every one of the crew members who form the Batik, are excellent professionals while developing their tasks to perfection, overflowing education and sympathy. Its manager, reception guys, the girl attending the bar, housekeeping staff, chef, etc ... All of them get a family environment in Batik where one can breathe harmony and good vibrations. Being a small hotel allows that the guests attention be much more direct and personal and Jackie, the Manager of the Hotel, puts the rest. With her devotion and sympathy makes that your stay in her Hotel and city are something special. Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
My family and I stayed at Batik Boutique for 3 nights. We were served the famous kuih lapis and rice wine upon check in. The room we had was spacious however the extra bed was a bit small for an adult. We were invited to a durian party organised by the hotel on the first night and it was fun! We didn't have many choices for breakfast but I have to say the Hor Fun was delicious! The hotel is located in a strategic location: - 5 min walk to the TopSpot (famous and reasonably priced local seafood restaurants) - 10 min walk to waterfront - many local restaurants nearby The hotel also offered complimentary drop-off service to the airport. Overall, we were impressed with the service provided and would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Kuching.
They really exceeded our expectations in every way”
We made a two day trip to Kuching last week. We froze our program just two days prior to our departure. I wanted to economize on this trip, so I chose Batk Butique, a relatively inexpensive hotel among those with good reviews. I requested for complimentary airport pickup, a spacious room with a large bed, just to check how far the hotel would strive to meet the high expectations set by the reviews. We did not receive any confirmation from the hotel prior to our departure, but to our utter surprise, we were picked up at the airport, initially provided a deluxe room consistent with our order, but later the same evening moved to a very spacious room with a nice large king size bed and nice bath. The hotel staff were extraordinarily friendly and always more than happy to guide us and assist in arranging our local sightseeing trips. We visited the Orangutan reserve, Bako national park, waterfront and river cruise, Sarawak cultural village all with their guidance and assistance. We were dropped back at the airport by the hotel staff. Honestly, this was the first time ever that I actually felt deeply obliged to a hotel for the services provided. The treatment was truly touching, indeed a treat to see youngsters have a great sense of joy in service. May their passion, teamwork and customer focus take Batik Butique to greater heights of success, and with it each of the staff.
Great place to stay with staff that really care. Amazing rooms and really lovely ”
Batik Boutique hotel was just a lovely place to stay. The rooms were huge and clean. The staff,in particular Jackie, were super helpful with best ways to do trips also. Great location also. Just a suggestion, it would be great if rooms were cleaned a little earlier in the day when people are at breakfast or whilst people were out on trips. I came back a couple of times from trips and was in need of a shower but the room was being cleaned at 2 or 3pm. Just a small thing but would definitely stay again and recommend to others staying in Kuching.
Special hotel but a little bit far for center”
Batik Boutique hotel always be my choice everytime I went to kuching for these 2 years. When I first time went to the hotel, it was just opened and very good. The staff was attentive and all facilities was new. During my last stay, I can feel the hotel getting older and not well maintained. The air-conditioning start making noises and the room start showing sign of aging. However, the staff are still very attentive and good.
friendly staffs welcome u with a smile ”
Was disappointed when first reached as what I booked was City Facing Suites and when I open the curtain, it was showing low shophouses building. So my hubby told me it is what I booked. Maybe I have too high expectation! Anyway, Batik Boutique Hotel has a good location although it is not easy to be spotted. Good location in the sense as it is near Shopping Malls (EG: Centrepoint Shopping Centre, Sarawak Plaza Shopping Complex, Tun Jugah Shopping Centre, Parkson..) and there is a Ramly Burger stall at night just outside the hotel. Behind Batik Boutique Hotel will be the hilltop seafood restaurant and massage area. Airport transfer is subject to car availability.
Artistic, Great location, friendly service”
they offer a free airport transfer (both ways), the hotel is a personal passion of the owner so that means i got a welcome sake drink with chocolates while in the check-in queue. feng shui is the order of this boutique all-batik lodge in central kuching. beautiful work in the room decor. located in the historical parts of kuching. humility and beauty is personified in this hotel.
Budget worthy hotel”
A boutique hotel built to support the local economy personalising the type of trip desired into reality. By that I mean the wonderful staff at Batik Boutique were able to assist with a foodies travel plan, the adventurer, culture, art etc. We honestly (despite trying to research) had no plan upon arrival and then any plans we did have, the long weekend and string of public holidays ruined them. Luckily enough, the friendly and approachable staff at Batik were able to assist. To say this is where the hospitality and service stopped would be satisfactory, but surprised as we were the hospitality kept coming. It was however (the titleless) Jo-Lynn, her intelligent witty and comedic conversations kept us spending The room itself, clean and spacious room with large and comfortable bed. Plenty of desk space to work, and lay out luggage. Lots of powerpoints next to the bed. Closet room was abundant and the shower was spacious and showerhead powerful. Free wifi was fast. Breakfast was good.
Exceptional staff”
Batik Boutique is the perfect place for a solo traveller who enjoys the luxuries of a spacious and clean room with the added bonus of plunger coffee and boutique teas in your room. As it is a small hotel there are plenty of options to meet fellow travellers either in the dining area or in the lively outdoor courtyard. The staff are what make this hotel so unique. They are all exceptional. Always happy for a chat and to offer advice or assistance on where to go next. A special thanks to Jo-Lynn who knows so much about the area and beyond. You have made my journey so much richer. And thanks to Jackie for your hospitality. Batik Boutique is definitely a hotel I will return to thanks to all of the staff.
Lovely Boutique hotel”
my short visit to kuching is coloured by the helping staff from batik boutique hotel, the room it self is very nice and spacious. i will surely come back to batik hotel in my next visit to kuching.
best hotel in borneo”
after our dreadful stay at one hotel santubong, we checked into batik boutique hotel, we were greeted by the owner (jackie)who made us feel welcome straight away, we were given tuak (local rice wine) and cake which was superb. the room was modern, spacious and spotlessly clean. all the staff was excellent and always went that extra mile to help you with anything. we even stayed an extra 4 nights because we did not want to leave. jolyn who worked there also took us to the bus depot for our day trip to bako national park and also took us to our next hotel. in our opinion this hotel has it all, friendly staff who provide a quality service, good rooms which are very comfy and an execellent bar
Pleasant stay at CBD Kuching”
Batik is the 3rd hotel in Kuching I picked. I have been in 2 other [very] nice hotels before viz in 2013 and 2010. Again my stay was for at least 6 nights so I wanted a comfortable stay with all amenities you may expect, pleasant atmosphere and staff. Obviously a good meal is important. You can find it all at Batik. Point of improvement is the a la carte bfst menu. At least some more fresh fruit should be on the table. We only got some small pieces of watermelon. Also I missed fresh yogurt ansd freshly squeezed juice. You may expect this at a hotel that ranks itself as a 4*. Sorry to add that the coffee also needs extra attention. It is basic and not freshly brewed. Batik should poor fresh coffee. Since I do have 2 [very] good accommodations in CBD Kuching to compare it with, I suppose management will consider some changes for near future.
Awesome Hotel with Awesome Staff of Great Hearts ”
It was a wonderful stay definitely thruout our holiday. Actually it began quite early as through the weeks prior to our departure. She planned on the suggested places of interests there and asked for the recommended transport company to bring us for tour and shopping throughout our stay in Sarawak. She not only gave a list of places to go and what to do but she also went all out to do the transportation booking for us and gave us a summarise total for the cost of each trip (transport, entrance fees)! That definitely put my wife at ease! also helped to order a cake as a surprise for my birthday...that came indeed as a surprise! a wonderful guy who helped us to check in, arrange the surprise birthday cake, provide the videos for us so indeed a great guy. Not only that, the rest of the staff especially also left a deep impression on us. Thank you Team Batik Boutique Hotel for your warmth hospitality towards us. Will definitely come back!!
Fantastic Stay with Friendly Staff”
Highly recommended boutique hotel for those looking for something different from the typical hotels. The room was spacious and clean; the staff were friendly and attentive. Apart from the complementary airport transfer and helping us to plan our trip, they also lent us some movies to watch at night. Also, loved the tuak they served so much that we even got a bottle for ourselves (and the Gryphon tea packets too!). The hotel is located at a very convenient location where food & attractions are easily accessible. Public transportation in Kuching may be a pain, so it's better to book with the hotel if you do not wish to be late for your sight-seeing.
beautiful hotel, amazing people!!”
We stayed in Kuching for 6 nights. 3 at the Batik and 3 at the Merdeka Palace. We REGRET not spending all 6 at the Batik. The staff there was so friendly, helpful and great to talk to. The location is perfect for strolling around Kuching. The building and room were beautiful and well kept up. We would definitely recommend it to anyone and will miss our time there.
lovely hotel with great location”
i will definitely go back to stay in batik if i go to kuching again... it was such a good experience there...n i love the comfortable room n the warm service there... every morning i will b greeted but a happy n warm face n when i come back from my sightseeing i will again greeted by happy n warm face... this is my first time experience staying in a boutique hotel but will definitely recommend to my friends.
Great staff, great, room, great value.”
Definitely planning on making this hotel our base next time we are in Borneo for a longer visit. Rooms are sophisticated in design, spacious, clean, and comfortable. They provide an excellent variety of coffee and tea for free with the room. Not the Nescafé and cheap sabah brand tea I'm used to seeing at hotels. Even the 4 star, $300 a night resort we stayed in didn't provide as good quality coffee and tea with the room. That extra bit of effort and care by Batik was not taken for granted. Even the little welcoming/information booklet they provide along with the room key when you first check in was a welcome breath of fresh air. Free Breakfast is delicious! Especially the banjo breakfast sandwich. They also let you try a variety of local rice wines brewed by one of the staffs aunties. So nice and so delicious. Had I been confident we could get it back home through customs I'd have purchased some. Lastly, I cannot stress enough how lovely and welcoming the staff is at this establishment. We really felt at home and everyone was above and beyond accommodating with our requests. I feel a lot of other hotels could learn soon much from Batik. Not that we had bad experiences with hotels In Malaysia, quite the opposite. Everywhere we stayed was great. It's just that Batik takes it to a whole other level of greatness. Greatness 2.0!
Nice Hotel, Great Location and friendly staff”
Batik Hotel is a modern hotel with very Special Batik design. The room was decent, clean and comfortable. It is situated in the heart of Kuching which is within walking distance to the shopping malls. The reception staff is very helpful and accommodating. Spent there just one night, Certainly we would return again.
