Great for a backpacker accommodation”
I stayed in a private room with ensuite with a friend. I loved that there was a communal kitchen for use, and having a bar fridge in the room was handy and sufficient for us. It very close to everything, very central. The staff were helpful. The rooms were air-conditioned. The only negative was the tap in our room which was continuously running. I did not report this during my stay.
On arrival all as should be. ”
No problems what so ever. Check in went properly, kitchen area is comfortable to use. Bathroom in the room. Parking area even for motorbikes. So close to city park can be felt as you almost live in it. Liked it so can recommend.
Very rude and unprofessional staff...”
The rude and sarcastic person on check-in could not be of less help if he had tried [I asked where the closest place to buy fuel was, and he just laughed and told me "a service station"]. He also told me, before the 2 pm check-in, where the 6 parking bays were [which I walked around and investigated at noon and again at 1 pm] but the same cars were there each time when I tried to park there at 2 pm. When I drove back from free 3 hour parking a few streets away at 5.26 pm and asked the grumpy old woman on reception if I needed to stay with my car outside the front of the building until after 5.30 pm, she just grunted "how do I know !!!" [if she works there, she should have known if the parking inspectors are likely to swoop before the 5.30 pm free parking starts]... I could not, with a clear conscience, recommend the hotel to anyone...
If you are after a CBD location for value then this is the place. Nothing is flash but the king rooms are large and clean. bathroom is adequate. Beds are very comfortable.Free wifi. Rooms do not have black out curtains so take eye goggles.
Cheap but nothing special”
The worst thing in this stay was check in. We were travelling quite late And get the hotel at 21.30- hotel was locked And there was noone inside. We get very stressed- where we would get the hotel at night? When we connected to the wifi (still beung outside) I read the message sent 20.35 (!!!) that late arrival needs to be reporter in advance...
Location is central so it's very convenient to go anywhere, eg grocery shopping, exploring central Launceston, etc. Though there is no lift to the rooms, there is a "lift" to transport luggage from the reception to the next level and vice versa, which is a relief for travelers with big or heavy luggage. There's a kitchen plus lounge area so it's convenient for travelers who would like to prepare their own food. For those who prefer to dine out, "The Eatery" is located next door. It provides affordable dining options with generous servings. Laundry and dryer are also available, and these are coin-operated. I stayed in a double room, which was clean and comfortable. Overall this is a good location for travelers who like convenience and comfort at an affordable price.
Glad to have a comfortable stay in this historical building. All good except the kitchen was a bit unclean, and I could not locate the dishwashing liquid ever.
Stay for one night. Nice building. Staffs are friendly. Rooms are a bit old but clean. It is a bit tight for 4 of our family. Shared kitchen with fully accessories. Dust bins are full filled and over night.
Hotel is located in center of town, rooms are very comfortable and clean. Staff are very friendly and always happy to help. Restaurants, Cafes , Shops, Mall are all about 5 minutes walk. Great place to stay.
Excellent place ”
Excellent place, Always stay hear in a 4 Bedroom family room. Stayed hear about 5 times now. And also book in again in a few months time :) A1 service, excellent rooms, close to town, park straight up the road.
Good price with high quality”
I stay for 2 nights. The hostel is very clean and unique, I booked a dorm-bed but it was a 2-bed shared-room which is absolutely convenient. The kitcheen and common areas are fully-equipped and large which is always availalbe for you. The design of hotel is a plus also.
Great Lounge but stairs all the way”
The room has a lot of room for a 4 person dorm. They separated the rooom into 2 halves so we felt very comfortable since the 2 beds were sort of all to ourselves. However, there were no lifts, so we had to lug our luggages all the way up the stairs. Loved the lounge, and it was easy to cook our own meals there and relax.
We stayed at family room for 2 adults and 2 toodler, it's comfortable for us. The room is clean too. There were elevator to bring up the luggage (not people). And things that really help especially you travelling with young children were 2 washing machine (each cycle around 40-60 minutes) and 2 dryer (each cycle 60 minutes), each load cost AUS $4. There were cafe adjecent. Supermarket and convinience store a bit far (around 800m walk) The minus is, noisy at night, There were young people drinking, laughing, talking and have fun downstairs, We can see the from our room. And their cigarette smoke is smelled from our bathroom, it's annoying and unhealthy when you stay with young children. But overall, nice to stay at this hotel
Nice place, too facilities ”
Laundry facilities was great. My only suggestion is for management to provide new scourer pads, dishwashing brushes and more teatowels... There are not enough. Otherwise the place couldn't be better... Also music from night club was noisy.
The Batman Inn is close to a supermarket, we came late in the night but the manager was still awake and helped us in and with our rooms. The rooms dont have any toothbrushes or sopa so bring your own. Very nice service and rooms nice too. Quite big room for the price! Also quiet and the kitchen is easy and nice to make some own food in. I would consider coming here again! Thanks for the great stay.
Excellent value in a quiet location”
A single en-suite room for only 30 Australian Dollars is excellent value in a place with a lot of character and very friendly and helpful staff. The kitchen and dining areas are kept clean, though they are a little small and I wouldn't want to having to rely on being able to use the single cooker if the place was really busy. The shower worked perfectly as did the wi-fi. The street is fairly quiet and yet only 2 minutes away from Charles Street and all the restaurants etc.
Great location, but you get what you pay for.”
I've stayed at the BF Inn before, and find the steel, bouncy shower bases somewhat odd & unpleasant. The fact that the bathroom was internal in this room (ie no window to outside), made it dark, so the shower bay was particularly claustrophobic. But the reality is that you get what you pay for, and prices are certainly cheap here for what was a clean room with ensuite, right in Launceston CBD.
Great stay, if only for a night. Everything so fresh and clean. White linen... really wonderful.”
We would most definitely suggest our friends stay there whilst in Launceston. Only trouble we had was getting to Agfest...the reason we stayed the night was to be close in the morning. What a laugh, the traffic was solid from the Perth turnoff... almost two miles of bumper to bumper, so we turned around and went back to Hobart... What a waste...... Never mind.
