Difficult location”
Place is about to shut down and very difficult to reach without a 4*4.

Ok if you like the sea”
Sea food, pool, tractor ride
We were informed that the place is secluded and is not 5 star. Cant complain. Staff tried their best I guess. We liked the basic meals we got. Its best if a group could travel and have a BBQ so that you dont get bored. Bathroom was leaking (dont know from where). Be prepared to carry your own luggage. Limited options available unless you just want to see Kalpitiya and a tip of the country. Local do NOT opt for the Wilpattu safari or the Dolphin watching tours from the hotel. You can get them both done for half the cost quoted by the hotel. Foreigners may seek the hotel's assistance for dolphin watching. Safari would still be cheaper outside. Overall can't complain. Enjoy what you get :o)

An experience like no other”
Travelling to the resort via a dingy and tractor, the food and the proximity to the beach
Customer service - fantastic, but make sure your driver calls the hotel before you arrive to ensure a dingy is available to take you to the island (the last boat across is at 6pm). Food - prepared fresh daily, and be sure to try the chilli crab and congee. Room - Has all the essentials but water pressure isn't great. Location - a great spot, away from the hustle and bustle. Kite surfing was also available though we didn't try it.

Biggest disappointment of our Sri Lanka trip”
close to the beach, nothing else
Really don´t know where to begin but was a big disaster from the beginning; had to wait 45 min in the sweltering heat for pick up from the boat (and 5 phone calls), room was double booked (as we arrived first, we got it though), room was however not ready till 5.30pm having arrived at 3.30pm, 33 degrees celsius in the room at check in, in an airco room (could check the tempearature courtesy of a fan in the room, the airco is a joke), toilet leaked and mixed with shower basin water (really nice..); snorkelling at Bar reef was a fiasco, we arrived at super low tide, so reef was only half a meter below the surface, we could not snorkel, however did not stop one of the boatsmen of this socalled ECO resort to jump in with flippers (!!) and do some serious damage to the coral; we had to get angry before he stopped; we still had to pay in excess of USD 100 for this trip though; any way, you probably get the picture; we had booked 2 nights but wanted to leave after the first; the manager agreed (as the room was also double booked the second night); promised then in writing we would get our money back, we have all the emails, but, yes, you guessed it, many excuses later and never got this back; we spent a fabulous time all over Sri Lanka, but this hotel was by far the low point - avoid..

lovely beach and unusual but delightful hotel”
procimity to sea for swimming and beach watching, lovely staff and complete peace and tranquility
It was wonderful - we had booked a tent but were upgraded to superb accommodation with sea views, we were the only guests during our 3 day stay so were very well looked after by the friendly staff. It suited us well to have peace for total relaxation with great beach walks, observing the nearby fishermen at work, and we loved the unusual journey to the hotel involving tuk tuk, ferry and tractor ride .... but this hotel would not suit people who were looking for social contact with other guests and also as guests you do depend on the hotel for all meals - but there is a great chef and it was all just what we wanted - it was like nowhere else we have stayed!

Emjoyable and relaxing”
Dolphin watching, Sri Lankan food, relaxing
We enjoyed our two day stay. I was now aware that we had to go by boat and tractor to get to the hotel when I booked the hotel but everything went well and was well organised ,so it didn't matter too much and we enjoyed the adventure ! The local food was very tasty and staff were friendly and attentive. The dolphin watching trip was fantastic and was well organised by the hotel management. Although the hotel does not serve alcohol the staff offered bring drinks form the town if w2e needed.

Isolated, but not boring”
difficult access to the resort, therefor a lot of space and nature
The room matched our requirements of booking, but the resort still has to develop a good standard of the facility, the bathroom was to be repaired. The staff and the manager of the resort were friendly and also capable of helping soon, when there were some needs. A problem was the difficult arrival, because agoda did not give information about the only transport by boat, and only during daylight. But the manager really made a good job organizing help. A pity was the lack of possibilities to get a car for one day to get around.
