Lovely hotel, amazing staff”
Loved the staff at this hotel -- the man at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful. He was kind enough to upgrade us to a suite for our honeymoon. The suite is well-designed, spacious, and clean. One thing to note is that a fair amount of noise does come through both from the outside street and the bar on the rooftop. At times the music was loud enough to vibrate through our suite. Overall though, this doesn't detract from our very positive experience at this hotel.

Funky, fun interior - spacious rooms”
We enjoyed three nights at this Dupont Circle-area hotel. An older building, the lobby and rooms have been recently renovated with fun, vibrant furniture. (While not currently open, the dining area looks great also!). We booked 2 rooms for our extended family - a double and a single. We encountered a problem when the air conditioning stopped working in the single. It is instructive to see how a hotel handles a problem when it crops up - the Beacon was great. They immediately sent a facilities person to fix the problem. When unable to do so, within an hour they moved my mother into a different room with working air conditioning. In fact, they moved her into a lovely suite with a kitchenette). Both rooms were spacious and well appointed with mini fridge and an espresso machine! A microwave was available on our floor near the ice machine. All the staff (front desk, porters, cleaning) were friendly and helpful, answering questions and problem-solving for us. We had a great time. Highly recommend.

It was a great location for sight seeing. Room was spacious & very nicely decorated. Bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet-slept like a log. Tea making facilities on the room would be appreciated by those who dont drink coffee.

A good first stay”
I booked a room without breakfast but on both mornings, I had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. I found the Maryland crab cakes a bit salty but the avocado toasts was quite good. On my second morning, they replaced the drip coffee maker in our rooms with Lavazza pod coffee makers. What a treat! Spacious room, nice view and very kind staff. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to DC.

Beacon Hotel”
Location wise this is a very good hotel. It is a 10 minute walk to the White House and a further 10 minutes to the Washington memorial. The neighbourhood and hotel is reasonably noisy in comparison to others that I have stayed at. Valet parking is available, just arrive and drop off the keys, at the time of writing (Feb 20), this was 60 dollars for a 24hr period. We arrived at 10am, but they allowed parking until 3pm the following day for 60 dollars. There was an early arrival charge of 30 dollars if we wanted to access the room before 3pm, which we declined. Rooms are of a good standard, bathrooms are compact. Overall, from a location and value for money perspective, I recommend this hotel.

The water was dripping from the central air unit on the ceiling. But the staff was helpful and waived our resort fee. The facility is rather old and smell so. But we got a good discount and the staff was wonderful. Great location. Will stay again.

Good value and location ”
Beacon is a good value in a good location. Not the most comfortable stay. The bed and pillows are in need of replacement and upgrade. Our particular room was a bit small. No frig or floor ice machine. Good for a quick stay and place to "hang your hat."

Convenient location, modern, bright”
Great location near Dupont Circle. We had a corner room, and it had a lot of natural light. Room was perfectly fine for a couple. Modern floor to ceiling glass windows were nice. Big bed, walk-in closet, iron, ironing board, dresser for clothes, desk. Room had no mini-fridge. I’d much rather have a fridge than a huge dresser to fold clothes and put away. Front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. This is a decent hotel for staying. Everything is fine. It’s not a stylish hotel though - not charming in a classic way or hip in a contemporary way. View is of corporate offices across the street and you look in on the offices clearly, so I felt like we were staying in an office park while we were in the room. But other than the corporate feel, it was convenient, clean, nice.
