Mansard - Double Room
Stayed 1 night in June 2016
Great hotel in an excellent location”
Everything from check in to check out and beyond was great. Upon arrival being greeted by multilingual staff (I heard Portuguese, English, French and German over my stay), and offered a glass of port and pestiche (little egg tarts in a very flaky crust. A more detailed map of the area than I had received at the airport, along with detailed (and accurate) instructions to get to Castelo Da Sao Jorge were made available immediately upon request. I was in a Mansard Room, which was exactly as shown in the pictures on the site, and was perfect for one for a longer stay, or for two for a short stay. (The only down side to it was that the Mansard rooms are a floor above where the elevator stops, so you are hauling luggage up and down the stairs, although the lady from the front desk did help me with that as she guided me to my room.)
The hotel is very close to restaurants and shops, the Castelo and the Baixa-Chiada metro station. If you come from the airport by Metro, be sure to come out at the Rua Vittoria exit - you would be about 5m slow walk away. If you're coming or leaving by train, aim for the Rossio train station.
Value wise, all of the hotels in Lisbon that were left in Baixa-Chiada when I booked were expensive, and this was one of the least expensive. But it was a holiday weekend, so that was a lesson learned for me.
However, if I go back to Lisbon again, Behotelisboa would be top of my list for places to stay.
