DON'T GO THERE!!!!!”
Checked out within 40 minutes (Thats how long it took to find a new hotel) after checking in. Went to my room and wanted to use the bathroom, but the toilet seat was covered with pee from previous guests. My mom stayed in a twin room and there was snot in one of the "clean" towels. Beddings weren't changed in any of the 3 beds as there was black hair in all beds. Took a long time for agoda customer service to deal with the hotel and get me a full refund. Hotel was offering only half money back (booked the stay for 5 days), because I already checked in. Without checking in I wouldn't know how "clean" the rooms are... Im glad I could find a different hotel. And its not so close to metro as they say.

Acceptable”
On arrival was made to check into the wrong room, no apology given. Was told the next morning we could check into the correct room. Morning comes and we move rooms after having to wait till 10am (asked at 8.30) and we were moved into a room im assuming a staff member lived in. There were 3 suitcases, small portable cupboards full of clothes, toiletries in the toilet, a missing window in the bathroom door and electronics everywhere. Confused we asked reception who had no clue, told us they would look into it. We never heard anything back but after our day out the window in the bathroom was fixed but all the belongings were still there. The staff overall were pretty rude - on most occasions. And you'd be better off somewhere more centrally located. Not a great hostel in my opinion.

A Good Place for Young Travellers”
Overall I quite like the place and the location is excellent indeed. The room was quite clean and comfy for a youth hostel but the ensuite bathroom in my room needs to be taken care of, the pipes under the sink was useless as water seem to just ignore it altogether and go straight to the floor and there was always a certain smell drifting out of it. My biggest concern was the door of the room, the cleaning staff seemed to abandon checking whether or not the door was closed after they took out the garbage. I stayed there for a week and found my door opened at least three times when I got back in the evening. My advice would be to make sure the cleaning staff at least make an effort in securing the basic safety of making sure the doors were firmly closed after they opened it. The reception staff were good and friendly, I forgot to ask for my deposit money and we manage to communicate and settle it without much hassle.

Get what you pay for”
-The location of the hostel is amazing if you desire a more "Western" area of Beijing. There are a lot of expat restaurants and bars. The hostel is close enough to the sites but I do think if you remain right around the hostel than you will not have the true Beijing experience. -The bar/pool table area seemed lively which is a nice aspect of any hostel -We paid for a king sized room only to be told on arrival that there are only twin bed rooms left and we could maybe change the following evening. Being that we got such a good deal through Agoda, I wasn't going to make an issue of it but if I had paid full price than I would have been disappointed. - No wifi in the rooms which is fully disclosed on the website but the wifi downstairs didn't work either. That was bothersome especially being that I need wifi for directions, research and so on. - In the middle of the night there was a girl screaming for about 30 minutes which was a shocking way to wake up and very disturbing. This isn't necessarily the fault of the hostel but it was definitely annoying. Having stayed in quite a few hostels in Beijing, this was by far the worst. For the same price you can even find a decent hotel in the area.

Great value”
Very conveniently located, walking distance to Dongzhimen transit hub also close to financial district. Staff spoke good english and was super easy to deal with, room was ok too, very warm thus had to sleep with the window open which is wasteful but unfortunately very common in China.

Satisfactory”
Cheap place for backpackers, other than that, the room cleanliness depends on your other roommates.
