    Great and quiet location ”
Our Didi driver had trouble finding it because Agoda places the hotel in the wrong spot. Eventually we found it. It was interesting to stay in the hutong neighborhood. It felt more like staying in a remote village not the capital of China. The room was big, the mattresses were hard but fine. The breakfast was sad, you got white bread and jam, cereal and porridge on a daily basis.

Quaint Hutong inn but nothing else”
It’s a 5 min walk out to the main road and 10 minutes to the closest subway station. The road in is very narrow and taxis will not want to drive in so be prepared to drag your suitcases. The hotel is quaint in design but nothing else. Staff are neutral so don’t expect the best customer service. Room safe doesn’t work. Heater in bathrooms don’t work. Water pressure is low in showers. But room heater is warm enough and can be supplemented by the aircon. Only has tea beverage, no coffee and no complimentary water. The tap water has to be boiled first before drinking but has sentiments. Overall I will not stay here again nor give it any recommendations

Regretted staying more than 1 night ”
It’s a traditional place and i think of you want to stay there do so for 1 night only. Beds were extremely uncomfortable, just as hard as the floor. The heating worked on and off which resulted in me and my partner catching a cold. Water in the shower takes 10 min to warm up to hot temperature. The street it’s in is quiet and local, with most taxis refusing to get in as it is too narrow. There is no western restaurants in close proximity and no entertainment. Staff members were helpful and spoke some English. Beware when you arrive - the address in google maps is not correct and will send you to the wrong place. Make sure you enter the actual address instead of entering the name of the hotel if you use google maps.

If you want to stay at local living environments ... BJ Sihe Courtyard ”
My colleagues travelled to BJ for pleasure and we booked a normal hotel but changed to BJ Sihe Courtyard once we saw a couple of pictures of the hotel. All of us want to see and enjoy the local living town(so called 'hutong') and we all agreed that BJ Sihe courtyard was pretty enough to satisfy these requirements. First of all, location is quite good. Around 1.3 km away from Wangjujing and 2.5 km away from the forbidden city. We used to walk to Wangfujing to grasp the dinner and backed to the hotel by walk from forbidden city which takes 30min. only.

If you have the money and are not afraid to walk through one of Beijing's long Hutongs then this is the right place for you. Very close to the city center and to the subway. It captures the old charm of the Beijing Hutong.

Good Value for your money, located in a Hutong”
If you are looking for a cultural experience on a low budget this is perfect. You are staying in a Hutong which is an actual neighborhood/side street so it is residential, tucked away and no taxi's go up and down the street so you will need to walk to either end of the street to get a cab or walk to the near by subway (dongsi stop). The bedroom is traditional chinese style, I would recommend to pay a little extra for the executive Queen room or King room. I stayed in the Queen room and it was great. Nice bathroom, canopy bed, and pajamas and slippers provided. The breakfast is a nice selection that changes every day. Hard boiled eggs, toast with jelly, coffee, tea, milk, a breakfast meat, dumplings, and a few more local options that differ daily. The staff does not speak english well so have a translation app available on your phone. It is a good value for the price.

    Unexpected and a cultural experience”
As a world traveller, it's fun to discover culture through a simple hotel. You'll not be disappointed here. The VIP room was amazingly Chinese, as are the standard guest rooms, but for different reasons. If you can afford to grade up to VIP, do it! Close to the forbidden city, super friendly staff that are so helpful, I liked this place very much.

Lovely Hotung courtyard with clean rooms”
In total, we stayed at the Sihe courtyard hotel for 4 nights. The rooms are clean and wonderfully decorated. The king size bed - nice and soft but the extra beds are very hard, we opted to squeeze in the kind size bed to get some sleep. The staff did not smile much, but were actually very helpful, providing valuable travel info and recommendations, and eventually arranging a free drop off at the airport (instead of the free pick-up which we did not use). Great breakfast - both western and Chinese. The courtyard is lovely - bring your snack and make some tea and enjoy the peace.

    National character. Convenient location.”
Advantages. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. You can leave your luggage after storage. Rooms are cleaned every day. Beautiful garden and dining room. Disadvantages. Wi-fi is excellent in the garden, but worse in the rooms. Taxis rarely visit the hutongs. 150 meters from the road you have to walk.

    Authentic stay in Beijing”
I currently live in Shanghai, so wanted to take my parents to Beijing & experience a more "authentic" China, which this hotel definitely provided! The rooms were clean but basic, and breakfast was an interesting selection but there was nice outside space to eat (the inside was canteen like). The reception desk have limited English so put my Chinese to the test, but for the basics of checking in / out etc were fine. They also helped arrange a car & driver out to the Great Wall last minute on the day. The location is also traditional side streets of Beijing about 40-50 minute walk through the city to Forbidden City. Overall a fun authentic experience!

A place that really give me peacefulness. Located quite close to Forbidden City, a place must go if you are visiting Beijing. Very unique Hutong environment, just cannot resist every time when i'm walking on the hutong's street, feeling so good. Thumbs up.

friendly staffs, close to city center
We like the antique atmosphere of this Shiho courtyard. The staffs are all very friendly as well. However, some of the facility in room need maintenance such as the basin in the bathroom. Other than that, we find it an interesting experience to stay there.

    Beijing Sihe not recommended”
All of the rooms are on the ground floor. The first night I stayed in an extremely small room where there was only enough room for the bed and nowhere I could put down my suitcase to open it except on the bed. There was no shower cubicle. So the water from the shower went straight onto the floor and the toilet. If I had understood Chinese I would have understood every word said in the room next door, as the insulation is very bad. There was no bedside lamp, and you had to pull a string at the door to turn off the light in the ceiling. The second night the room cost me more than €100 and it was certainly not worth it. The room was spacious, but there were no curtains in the bathroom and there was a glass door between the bathroom and the bedroom, so the light poured into the room at sunrise, which is early in Beijing. Other things were OK, except for a rude receptionist who said she didn't have time to tell me how to turn on the light in the room, worked by pulling a hidden string.

Great central location and friendly staff would definitely be the keys for my recommendation, however, that room I stayed in was in fact smaller than shown in the photos, and the water pressure in the shower was a true test for patience.

Went to google and saw location is diffcult even taxi driver does not know. So you can book their inhouse driver to pick you from the airport. Not Worth the Cost - Bad location & terrible service attitude”
Rude staff who hurled vulgarities at me over an airport transfer misunderstanding. They claimed they did not receive emails from Agoda. I did not use vulgarities throughout the conversation and did not retaliate. Did not receive any form of apology from Sihe too. Terrible service attitude. Location is out of reach, and hard to find. Most taxi drivers will only drop you at the main road and it is eerie to walk back at night through are barely lighted small street. The place looks like of run down too.

    Nice room and lovely courtyard”
The hotel is located in a hutong next to Dongsi subway station, location is really convenient. The room was small, but enough for one person, decorated in a really chinese style, nice. The courtyard, is or resembles a Siheyuan, one of the traditional houses in Beijing. Breakfast is ok, nothing spectacular, though. The down part of my stay is that I felt sick the last day, I asked the staff if I could check out later and they weren’t really understanding, I speak Chinese, so language was not the problem, but they just refused to let me stay for a couple of hours if I didn’t pay the whole night fare... Which at that time I found a bit excessive. Nice stay, somehow ruined by their unwillingness to help when I was sick.
