Over priced for a good location”
Room is big and location is good. Staffs are friendly and room is clean. Total cost for this room is over priced considering it's just a simple room with bigger bed. The bathroom glass door was broken on one side, the sink has slow leaking problem, the lights weren't light enough for anyone to put makeup on, the blow dryer was broken even after I asked for another one. There were lots loud noises in the hall way that affected our resting badly. I will only recommend this place if it's for the sake of the location.
great place to be if you want the authantic chinese experience”
Stayed 3 night. rooms are delightful. staff very nice but with limited English. right next to walking street and in quant area if you are after the Chinese experience this is far better than the modern hotels.
Dear customers, thank you very much for choosing Guyunfang Hotel. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the staff's English. Now we have a very professional English reception.Thank you very much for your valuable comments.Sincerely look forward to your visit again!
Decent room, great location, helpful front counter”
The hotel located in Hutong District and near to subway station, within 15 minutes walking distance. There were many small shops, street food and restaurants. The bed is comfartable but bathroom not so clean and the hotel wifi is terrible. Although it is traditional view but enjoy to stay in the hotel.
Lovely Hotel in a traditional neighborhood ”
The room is nicely decorated, and it is located in a lovely neighborhood. A corner away is where shops, restaurants, bars are located, and also where a lot of hutongs (traditional houses) are located. It is hard to find at first but once you find it everything is fine!
Great location and wonderful service!”
James at the night desk was patient and persistent in helping me book my airline reservations to Qingdao. Other staffers said they only make RR reservations, but James didn't bat an eye when I asked. Everyone is polite, friendly and helpful. The 20RMB breakfast buffet is not to be missed. Lots of choices between western and Chinese food. I didn't realize how cheap it was until I missed the breakfast one morning (it ends at 9 a.m. sharp), and had to fend for myself out in the hutong. The prices outside were astronomical for only a fraction of the food, and not as good. My room was small, but I had requested only a single, and very clean. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or to recommend it to friends. Very central (behind the Forbidden City) and accessible to other parts of the city. Ask the front desk where to catch a cab -- there's a nearby corner where it's easy to catch one, and many other spots where it's not. Enjoy the hutong -- it's lively all day and night (shops close at 1 a.m.), but there is no hutong noise at this hotel. Very quiet and peaceful. You'll love it!
Clean boutique hotel but rooms are small”
we stayed only one night due to our short transit. we reached the hotel at around 11.00 p.m. but all shops were closed except kfc. the lcct-hotel taxi (coupon charged rm68.00)for a premium car which was unnecessary. we felt we were ripped 'cos upon arriving at the hotel, we found we could easily find a taxi service that charged only rm35.00 either way. take note of that for those planning to stay in this hotel. the rooms are comfortable for a small cheap hotel. location wise it is said to be one of the nearest to lcct / klia terminal as journey takes about 25-30 minutes one way.
good hotel with an excellent staff”
the hotel is quite small but is really pretty, it is clean and well decorated. we got a standard room so there is no frills like other hotel rooms. the courtyard is very cute, it feels like as if you are really in china. the staff is also very hardworking, he also helped us by being the contact person of our tour guides. the buffet breakfast has only few selections but the food taste great, so no worries about it. but if the breakfast is not a complimentary one, i suggest going out and eat somewhere else to get more value of your money. the only problem of this hotel is the location, though it may be said that it is in the center of beijing, the location can be a hassle especially if it is your first time going to the hotel and you doesn't speak mandarin since it is hard to find it (and you need to ask the local people about the location of this place). it is quite in the center of the hutongs (like alleys) so you need to walk at least 7-10 minutes from the hotel to the main road. i saw a sign that says that no cars are allowed in the area but it seems that it was not particularly followed since a lot of cars are parked in the area. overall, the hotel is nice, with a friendly and hardworking staff, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. it is okay as long as you don't mind walking for another 10 minutes or so after a day of walking in beijing. i recommend this hotel to anyone.
good place value for money”
i will come back to this place if i travelling to Beijing
Much is promised, little is delivered”
Pros: staff is trying their best. Rooms have heating and warm water, nice Asian breakfast, with small bites for Europeans. Cons: English is spoken through an app, comprehension of spoken english is minimal. Through my 4 day stay there I met one staff who spoke it fluently, and did not need the app. Ticket service: I inquired about tickets for the Beijing Opera, but I was politely explained on the phone (after the staff called somebody on the phone)that they donot offer the service. Internet: most of the time too slow to be used. All in one, a bit disappointing for a foreigner. Thank God for the internet.
Thank you for choosing Beijing Traditional View Hotel and sharing your comments .We are sorry for the staff's poor English issue during your recent stay with us and would like to apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused while staying with us. We will strengthen our staff's English training.I am confident that such will not re-occur in future. Please give us another opportunity to show you the true Traditional View Hotel hospitality. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Never stay with young children”
The place located hidden alley, DiDi and taxi refused to go into the place and will stop you at main road and have to walk 5-10 mins. Entering the walkway compound, there was heavy stinky smell. I booked family room, only when checkin I’m being told there is no window in the room, I have to top up to get room with window. I believe most rooms are without window as it built in a very compact area. The bed mattress were curve bend in middle and you will never want to sleep there. They don’t exactly clean hidden spot, you surprise to see how dirty below the bed, dusty when you move out the table. This is cheap motel that packaged into expensive hotel and given you offer discount
Dear customers, thank you very much for choosing Guyunfang Hotel. The family room you booked is partially windowed, which brings you many inconveniences. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. In addition, the hotel is located in Nanluogu Lane, a famous characteristic block in Beijing, adjacent to Shichahai Bar Street, Cigarette Bag Slant Street, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Gongwangfu and other places of interest and cultural attractions, shopping, sightseeing and travel are very convenient, while the main theme is Hutong courtyard, with a stroll through small streets and alleys to appreciate the old Beijing scenery as a feature, sincerely look forward to your visit again!
Location not bad”
+ able to go around nearby attractions by bus / train station. Just a walking distance to nanluoguxiang and hutongs. 30mins walking distance to train station from hotel. The hotel staff willing to change another room for what I requested. - time to renovate and make sound proof. Housekeeping should improve. Never really clean the room and did not replace the item that used.
Great location, good service”
3min walk to Nan luo gu xiang (南锣鼓巷), and 15min walk to Houhai (后海) bar street. A lot of restaurant and several bars/live houses around, night life is very convenient. It's near to the heart of Beijing, and the subway is only 10min walk when the ally is crowded (on the other end of nan luo gu xiang), bus stops and cabs are even closer, made it easy to get to anywhere (not considering traffic in Beijing if you're taking a bus/cab). GREAT location, service and facilities are above average at this price. Would stay there again.
The location was amaZing, walk down the road to a little laneway of restaurants and shops and it was such a nice area to start our trip in China at. The taxi drivers were a nightmare in Beijing though. When 5 taxis drivers turned us down the receptionist just told us to take a subway, which was not helpful as no one spoke English and it was our first day in China! After about 2 hours a receptionist finally came outside and helped us get a taxi! The rooms are a bit tired but I still loved the traditional feel and would stay here again just simply because of the location.
Great Authentic Chinese hotel experience ”
Great experience with this hotel, was in the 'good' room , which was very good, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The location really sold it for me, hidden amongst the hutongs you are really immersed in real Beijing!
Enjoyable, affordable stay amid Beijing streetlife”
The hotel was everything we wanted it to be , located in the hutongs but not noisy or hectic; rooms reasonably comfortable; helpful staff; pretty decor; affordably priced. Minuses: there was some building going on which caused disturbance but nothing serious; some features in rooms were faulty (eg toilet seat, drainage in shower) but again not a serious problem.
Cheap and in a good location ”
The hotel was fine didn't have any problems with the room or with staff. the hotel is located next to a very popular street with lots of nice shops, restaurants, bars and other things. its about a 15min walk to the subway where you can reach any major attraction. not a bad place for the price.
Well located hotel with poor breakfast”
We had a hard time finding this hotel as it is located in a narrow and dark street (Ju er hutong) which even the taxi refuses to go in when we arrived at 2am. Had to walk down a stretch of about 800m to "accidentally" find the red lantern which bears the hotel's name. Green eerie lights along the entrance await us and we were surprised to find a 6 storey high hotel in a hutong where most of the building are low. However, it is located within walking distance to the most happening area in beijing (nanluoguxiang and houhai), which made up for the strange location that the hotel is located. We booked the hotel with the breakfast because the breakfast was only 30 yuan, but it was TERRIBLE. The food is cold while the orange juice is warm. The food should be kept warm while the drinks kept cold. A basic sense of common sense seems to be missing to the people preparing the food about the eating experience. Checking out was a chore as the counter was unable to confirm if we had paid through agoda and almost refused to return us our deposit. This should have been done earlier to reduce the hassle, especially when we are rushing to the airport to catch our flight.
Less services, poor breakfast only from 7 to 9”
We check in 7th of may when they gave us a non comfortable room which was different of our expectation ,, i thought if cancelling the rest of the 10 days and transfere to another hotel ,, then they transfere me to a different bigger room ,, breakfast time is not comfortable and the food was poor , the external of the hotel is not ready and a lot of construction
I really enjoyed my stay there. It was too short however, the location is outstanding! You get out from this hotel and have current access to the old Beijing street. A great beauty. I will come back for sure! No matter what.
