Great Location
Location, Food and Staff Performance
Third time staying here. This time only One night stay but very pleasant. Best part is the location as it is near train station, subway, buses and easy to hail a taxi when you walk to main road. Airport Bus is only 5 minute walk away, which is a plus when you are either arriving or departing. Room is comfortable and clean and for the price you pay its acceptable.Very good restaurant with menu that easy to on the foreign stomach.

Tidy room, clean bathroom
Close to subway station, clean room with private bathroom, clean sheets
Although my room on the first floor was small and the window was boarded up, the sheets were clean and nice-smelling, the bathroom was clean and room very tidy. It's walking distance from the Beijing Railway Station and subway station yet the neighborhood is not noisy. The narrow road leading to the hotel was under construction during my stay so it was dusty when cars pass. But once road work is done, I'm sure that will no longer be a problem. It's the best value-for-money for a room with private bath. Bring a printout in Chinese of the hotel name and address so you won't have trouble asking locals for directions.

Avoid this hotel
terrible breakfast small room bad location
We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and it was quite unpleasant. The room was face to the railway so it was extremely noisy so we asked for a new room and they offered us a room which toilet and room were divided by a curtain. We asked another room but they were all same. We ended up having smaller room with same rate . breakfast was miserable. The hotel is located in a small lane so we didn't feel safe. Don't book this hotel.

Comfortable
Location , value for money and safety
Very pleasant stay. Room was clean and of reasonable size and staff friendly and helpful. A few of the staff were conversant in english. I originally booked for two nights but decided to stay another four nights because location and room was OK. They promply refunded one night when I decided to cut short one night because of change in return flight. One issue they have to address is their Internet facility which is poor.

US$ 47 is too much for such room
close to main railway station, airport shuttle bus, relatively inexpensive
Some people complani about difficulty to find this hotel. Please read my direction guide: if to stay with your back to the railway station,go right on the same side of the street. You will have to travel about 200 meters passing: (1) airport shuttle bus for 16 yuans, (2) the big bus stop and you will see a blue arrow with "Zhong An Hotel" directed to the right into the houses, go another 100 meters and here it is.

Comfort on a shoestring
subway,railway and airport shuttle
I booked 2 Doubles for hubby and I ,plus hubbys friend. We were in Beijing for 4 days and all days jam packed. *I will post directions to the hotel at the bottom of this post* The rooms were definitely NOT The Ritz, we just needed somewhere to sleep after long days. In terms of comfort, the beds are extremely firm but the rooms are clean and towels are changed daily. The breakfasts are average, don't expect a lot of Western food, you will find boiled eggs, different veges cooked chinese style, bread that you can toast, hot fruit juice, milky coffee. If you are wanting knives, forks, spoons, butter etc you will have to be forthright and firmly ask for them with your hand out otherwise you just won't be given them. They do run out and are rather slow to replenish items like juice, fruit, bread etc so you have to firmly demand them. The Marriot Hotel is located on the main road just a wee bit further along from the traffic lights. They have a great Concierge team there. We obtained all of our maps, directions and info from them.Trust me, they will be only too happy to help you and will NOT know that you are not staying there. We used the Jianguomen station to jump on the subway. We were given the name and number of our local tour guide Tom by a contact in Xian. Tom was invaluable during our time in Beijing, any problems, queries or any need for a translator, we would call him on +86 18740406195. Finding the hotel from the bus stop is easy and only a 5 minute walk. Catch the airport shuttle to BEIJING RAILWAY STATION.[16 yuan] The bus terminates there. Get off and walk ahead of the bus to the first set of traffic lights. Turn left and walk down the alley - at the end is the local police station. Turn right and walk along, Zhong An Hotel is the second hotel on the left.

Okay hotel. Disgusting surroundings
cheap, cheap, cheap
Breakfast was included in our stay. I was the same every single day we were there. It was nasty too, at least for me. I guess chinese food doensn't really have taste. Its not the western type chinese food I am used to. But over all the room as clean and warm (we were there during winter). Bathrooms are decent too. But going to the hotel is a nighmare. You pass by alleys that are gross.
