raining on toilette! Stinky on toilet from water train.
I booked a room with twin beds to stay at the end of a business trip. They would not honour the twin beds despite the booking and I stayed with my mother in a queen bed. The bell boys were fabulous The check-in staff were rude, unhelpful and disengaged. There were broken cupboards, dangerously sharp sliding door to the balcony, tiles missing in the bathroom. Would not recommend.
Best days are gone!”
In spite of good staff, the facilities show need of a good renovation.
outdated, unnecessarily complicated payment system, and boring”
Pool was lovely, as was proximity to the sea. They had so few sunloungers on the beach though that you had to be there by 8am to get one. Plenty of sun loungers by the pool. Hotel itself was very outdated and disappointing. Breakfast was overpriced and a bit gross, their free breakfast of pastries (6-8am) was actually better. Our door was missing its outer-rim lining so light just flooded in and we’d booked a room with two beds but when we arrived they said they didn’t have any so my friend had to sleep on a sofa bed they pulled out. There was also some entertainments guy trying to get people to play pool games etc by talking obnoxiously all day into a microphone around the poolside (spoiling about the only good thing in the hotel). There also lacked any good places to eat within walking distance (we did not like the hotel restaurant - weird vibe) - we ended up eating nachos in a sweltering roadside place for dinner for lack of any other option.
Good Value. Clean Facilities. Great Restaurant Options”
We were very happy with our booking at Bel Air. It was a relaxing, beautiful location. Although the hotel is obviously old, it is not run down. It might be aged, but it has been cared for, and our experience was a pleasant one. The lobby, the little bar, and the room was clean. The staff was polite. A big plus is that many spoke English. The restaurant has MANY dining options. For those choosing all inclusive type stays, you won't get bored with the menu. The pool was clean, and very pretty. The loungers were comfortable. The beach access is super easy. Final thoughts: It is a small, pretty location at the south end of Zona Hotelera. Perfect for a 3 or 4 night getaway.
DON'T STAY HERE”
I booked the nicest room at this hotel and it was still terrible. Moved as toilet was leaking to a standard room. This room was also very dingy. Wouldn't waste my time or money on this place. Location is close to the airport, but not to anything else. They gave us complimentary massages to make up for room change, but the staff didn't turn up and they spent about 45 mins trying to find the staff at the spa. Breakfast is also pretty bad. Would avoid this place, so many other better places to book at
Not good ”
I stayed here for two days to get some rest and relaxation after several nights of a music festival down south of Playa Del Carmen. The reason I chose this hotel is because it had a spa and also beach front. Upon arrival it was clear that the place needs substantial cosmetic improvements. It's not horrible but for the price, I expected a little more in the area of visually pleasing. My room was large but also a bit dirty. The faucet in the bathroom was broken...it still worked but was bent over and flimsy. The bathroom had no towels when I arrived so I had to ask for them. It's extremely apparent that the management could care less about keeping things updated and in working condition. I can easily see this hotel getting demolished in the next fifty years if they keep things going the same way. After checking out the prices of a massage along with the overall feeling of things being "not so clean", I decided it was not worth it. And I am a hippie with long hair and a beard! Lol The food in the restaurant was pretty good though. My only complaint with the restaurant is that I could not take food back to my room. I ordered a bit too much and expected that I could take the test back with me. This was a big NO. I paid for food but was not allowed to leave the restaurant with it. No thanks. Overall I would never go back here. The one and only thing that adds any value to this hotel is the pool and beach front.
Good Place, but so pitty that my girlfriend left me after this travel.. But anyway this hotel is amazing
Very good for the price”
Not very clean
The location was fine”
I liked the hotel, it has a nice pool with a view to the beach! The staff was extremely friendly. The only bad impression I got was when I checked in, the hotel was supposed to deliver the room at 3 sharp, but the room was not ready so I had to wait 45 minutes for it to be cleaned and finally delivered. My room had a jacuzzi (which sounds great), BUT.... when I used it, the water practically got out and spilled the room... shower time!!! Anyway, the staff helped me.
Great view of the beach”
We wanted to stay somewhere away form the bustle of the hotel area. Bel air provided this (though they did blast music at the pool for a good chunk of the day). We were given a great room on the top floor looking out at the ocean. It was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was very easy to hop on a bus and get to restaurants. The room was clean and big enough for our needs. We did order a burger at the pool bar, which we found to be terrible, but oh well... This place was much cheaper than any other hotel we saw on the strip, and while I wouldnt give it a 5 star rating, it was close to the airport, on a nice part of the beach away from the noise, and was very comfortable. We couldn't have asked for more for what we paid.
The staff at the spa where great The pool had a beautiful outlook over the carrebean ocean it good do with a little updating and they could offer a tatie seven though we where in the shoulder season it felt like a low season The restaurant could do with a big overhaul in decor and food infusion of Mexican Italian didn't work t had no feel for either Mexican or Italian But over all the experience of Cancun was fantastic
From One Hassle to Another”
I rather not remember how difficult they made it. Luckily, I was able to step out of the "situation" and book a room at a much better hotel.
Lovely staff , relaxing hotel”
Great stop over”
We only stayed at bel air for one night on the way through to Tulum. We ate at the restaurant which was fantastic, the rooms were beautiful and the staff very helpful. It is far enough away from the intensity of Cancun so we really enjoyed a quiet and relaxing night. We will stay there again.
Nice rooms, great staff, slightly run down hotel”
The Bel Air was a little run down, the room itself was great, with excellent amenities but I do feel that it is overrated. We ordered room service that was so bad it was inedible. We asked for assistance from staff about getting to some ruin sites and booking drivers etc and they didn't seem to want us to go! They offered excellent service regarding everything else though.
nice beach stay.”
An older resort but very pleasant with great location. Restaurant on lake across road is nice dinner setting. Great staff.
It was an average hotel, the room was small, a bit rusty and with old furniture. We stayed in a room with Lagoon view, the view wasn't bad but the ocean view would be the best. They have a nice swimming pool that ends right at the beach. So you can just relax in the pool while enjoying the beach view and sun. We didn't like the food in the restaurant much, so we preferred to eat outside. You have to travel for around 20-30 mins for the food but the public transport is easily accessible and cheap as well.
