Center of Town and Great Service”

There's a Macdonalds and petrol station just next to the motel and a KFC opposite. A number of other eateries can also be found near the vincity of the motel. Room was just nice for 2 pax with heated blankets for winter!!! The motel staff was all smile despite us checking in at 8pm. The only down side was that it was really difficult to the entrance of the motel. We made a few rounds around the motel before realising that we could just drive straight up the curb at the road side into the hotel. It's a pity my friend and I didn't manage to dine at Fat's Sally as the place was really crowded on the Wednesday night when we visited (Wednesday is their quiz night).The motel staff was very friendly and showed us direction to Fat's Sally. Oamaru town center is rather small and vibrant even at night but the outskirt areas (where the viewing of the blue penguins are) can be quiet at night.

good central location on Oamaru with a number of restaurant and pubs within walking distance. Room was clean and had everything expected of a good motel. Staff were happy to offer advice as to what to see and where to eat.

The best motel I ever stayed at the moment. Although the room is a bit small but I could tolerate with it. The toilet is clean and the water pressure is amazing. I have a good shower. Most of the accommodation in New Zealand won't supply you a high pressure waTer at the bathroom but I would rate this motel serve the best. Another draw back is this motel only supplying 50MB internet data

Great location”

Very good location and the service was great. A spacious room with good facilities. It was close to restaurants and fast food outlets. Motel was very quiet. We would recommend this motel to other travelers.

pretty functional motel in the centre of Oamaru, very old but functional for our one night stay before heading back to Christchurch.

Nice location, but not the best motel”

This is probably the closest motel to the Oamaru city center, but there are probably better motel a bit further out. The front office staff was not very knowledgeable and was not able to advise us on some of the local attractions. The room was dark, noisy heater and refrigerator. A bit uncomfortable, but not so bad as we travel during the daytime.

Convenient location”

Motel was conveniently located near some fast food restaurants. We were greeted by a very friendly staff who offered us milk and tea upon our arrival. Check in was fuss free and room was very clean. Bath tub came with spa features and is a nice touch to end the day after driving for hours.

Great location but small room”

These motels are conveniently positioned on the main road and within walking distance of the shopping area. Also close to a number of dining establishments. We had a back unit and did not notice any road noise. The compact studio units are exactly as described, but are adequate for a short stay and were very cosy on the two very cold nights when we stayed. We really enjoyed the time and would have no hesitation in returning.

usual tidy motel”

The motel is easy to find, and although along the road, it's very quite at night. This small town isn't that attractive, but it do have a supermarket within walking distance. I have to say that you cannot cook raw food in the room. Just a small microwave for heating takeaway food. Oh yes, it does have a KFC&MD around.

Centrally located motel”

Comfortable night in a clean motel, centrally located and convenient to visit the lookout to watch the yellow penguins and also visit the blue penguin colony. Good heating and electric blanket for the cool weather. Not able to rate the food as I did not eat there.

Everything you would expect from a Motel.”

Nice easy check-in, and everything you need in the rooms. Our room was a 'compact' but there was plenty of space for us to put our stuff and spread out. A small fridge and crockery, cutlery means you can bring in a takeaway from the main street. Spacious shower-room, with a nice hot powerful shower. Convenient to all the shops and services on the main street. We enjoyed breakfast at Vinnie's along the road.

Hotel with lovely staff”

The one thing that I remember clearly was the warm welcome by the staff. This hotel is run by a couple and I believe it is their own property. Room in general is clean and neat. However cooking can only be done outside the room. They have a portable BBQ pit for usage but it is too cold at night for cooking. The good thing is that food is available within 2mins walking distance. Location is near to the Victorian Street too.

Late night visitor noise”

Our stay for two nights here was spoiled on the first night by whoever arrived back to their unit next door shortly after midnight had a male visitor follow her up there. They proceeded to talk on the balcony which woke us and for about half an hour kept us awake. Hotel policy was no visitors after 10pm. Never-the less we were disturbed. Other than that is was a clean, presentable unit.

Clean and Convenient”

A pleasant night's stay. Some other guests were rather noisy, especially a large group of Thai young people talking loudly to those in other units from outside their rooms. This was not the motel's fault though. The review needs to give a NA (Not Applicable) option for Food/Dining as it does not have a restaurant. Breakfast can be ordered but we brought our own.

Small Hotel but the Landlady was very friendly”

The motel's room was a bit small but it was clean and the Landlady was very nice and jolly. The free Internet /wifi offered is a joke -- very difficult to get through especially to Skype . It is ideal for a short stop. It is centrally situated and walking distance to restaurants and the main shopping area.
