Excellent Service, Mediocore Location”
Extremely helpful staff, very nice, comfortable room, great shower
I like to travel alone, but as a foreigner with a limited ability to communicate in Korean, this sometimes presents challenges. Not at the Benikea Hotel! I was greeted by very friendly and English-fluent staff, who really hit a home run in the service department. The gentleman working the evening shift made recommendations and printed directions in English and Korean (complete with handwritten notes with details such as bus times and schedule notes), making it really easy to navigate and experience all the fun and natural beauty that Geoje has to offer. The morning shift staff also included a friendly English speaker who was happy to help with calling cabs, etc. The location of this hotel is a bit far from most tourist attractions (the hotspot is in the southeast) but it has a nice view overlooking Okpo. Its location makes this hotel a great choice for people traveling with a car, and an outdoor bbq/picnic area makes if very family friendly. My room was very comfortable and peaceful, and well equipped with amenities. A nice place to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing, hiking and swimming! Just remember to bring anything you need from town because the nearest convenience store is a bit of a walk downhill. Ultimately, I traveled around using a combination of public busses and taxi. Personally, I enjoy traveling by public transportation, because I can see and experience more, getting a feel for the real pulse of a place, rather than simply hopping between hotspots. That being said, the bus system is limited (many bus lines run approximately one per hour) and even if you can read Korean, navigating the bus system may be a little challenging. I definitely recommend this hotel to travelers with their own transportation, and to those who don't mind using bus and taxi a lot. Would I stay here next time? Honestly, I would probably look for a different location, but when I remember this trip to Geoje, the exceptional service at the Benikea will stand out.

Friendly staff but unreliable food at restaurant”
Attentiveness, friendliness and value for money
Wish there were better direction signs for the hotel as its address registered on its homepage was actually invalid. I had to call the hotel a few times on my way and it took us (myself and a local driver) over an hour to find it within the proximity :(

Peaceful place with good view”
Quietness, location, staff
Enjoyed my two nights in a room with a balcony facing Okpo. Easy access to the nearby hills for walking and running.

pleasant. it could have been better for the minor ”
location. price easy to book.
Room staff very noisy as we're other guests on the same floor early in the morning. Breakfast was poor for a big hotel like this and no cereal. Breakfast times changed but I wasn't notified until I turned up one morning to find the times had been shifted to half hour earlier where the board clearly said the breakfast was at the original time.

far away and no ammenitites”
helpful and friendly staff
I was very underwhelmed by the hotel. The rooms are like a truck stop budget motel. there is a restaurant with limited hours and you are a taxi ride to anywhere. It says there is a spa but there was none available when I stayed. This hotel is only recommended if you only want a cheap bed and will be out of the hotel for the whole day.

Quite comfortable with reasonable price.”
Quiet location, clean room / facilities and excellent view.
Although the facility is very clean, well-equipped and scenic - in short is much better than other hotels near-by, the hotel was not very crowded. I suppose it is because the hotel is a little bit far from the downtown. I would suggest to organize a free shuttle bus to late night to the center of Okpo then many people should stay there with even higher price.

old fashioned bland, ”
location shows the lovely town of okpo
the hotel is newly opened so we thought it would be contemporary instead it was old fashioned and the ron smelled of damp. there was no provision for tourists, no coffee service with the ron one sachet of coffe having the action of milk powder and the tea was green. we did not go to breakfast as the hotel looked as if it would have nothing to our likening so we went down town to black gold where breakfast service and welcome was exceptional. we will not go back to this hotel as it is so disappointing, and the hotel was almost empty so we cannot be the only persons who feel this way. a big disappointment as we will be turning to okpo a lot to visit our friends and it is a town we are very very fond of it is wonderful fun good food and full of great bars. good hash centre too for hill walkers.
