Rooms are quite clean but very dated, mainly the bathrooms. You can definitely find better in Manhattan for a similar price. To consider, the subway is 15-20 walk from the hotel
Very helpful staff”
Place is very clean and a great location. There is no restaurant in the hotel. Despite lacking a restaurant and it having a small bathroom, the staff was extremely helpful and welcoming.
The perfect location! ”
The hotel was in the best location with plenty of cafes and supermarkets around. Being out of the main tourist areas was something we enjoyed the most and watching how the locals live. The bed was really comfy. Had an amazing view! Bathroom was standard. Only issue was the air conditioning which was old and made some loud noises especially during the day when it was hot. Other than that we had an amazing time at the Bentley.
Little bit rough round the edges, but overall, pretty good.”
Location is good and price is good. Rooms are a little bit shabby, (cracked and peeling paint, cracked tiles in the bathroom) but towels and bedding were clean. Bed is ultra comfy. Reception staff were great, really helpful. Didn't use the gym or the breakfast buffet (expensive at $18 each). Air con works, views are pretty good if you get the right side of the hotel.
Staff was lovely. They put us in a bigger room when there were issues with the reservation (that weren't their fault). The room was great, a nice view of the Queensboro Bridge. I wish we didn't have to pay for wireless internet and I wish there was a way to get drinking water on every floor.
I notice that the lobby seats were worn and the chair in my room was worn. I could not get my bedside lamp to work. I like to read in bed. I never could locate a tv channel. One night house keeping did not put towels in the bathroom. The front desk crew, bell men and the young lady at the bar in the morning were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay.
Elegáns hely, szép kilátással”
The staff was very helpful at the time of our arrival, our packets you were reprimanded our hand and it was carried up into our room promptly. They accomplished our extra claim asked at the time of a reservation. The room was cleaned up on a daily level, the bed linen was exchanged every day. It was arranged without asking at the time of the leaving the transfer onto the airport, our homeward journey was very comfortable so. We will elect this hotel again if we have been to New York.
Great city view!”
The hotel is in walking distance to Central Park (10-15 min). The room we stayed at was on the 17th floor with a breathtaking view of the river, bridge and the city. I don't think this would be possible in central manhattan where the hotels are pinned to one another. The breakfast was pretty good and the view from the breakfast room on the 22nd floor was inspiring! The receptionists were all really nice and ready to help you in any question. The King size bed was really comfortable and the room itself was quite spacious.
Awesome view, beautiful hotel!”
I was skeptical when booking, but upon arrival we found we were on the 15th floor with a corner room. The view was absolutely amazing, the room was kept in great condition! The decor of the room was beautiful and had all the amenities we needed. The bed linens were clean and so comfortable, the best bed I've slept on in any hotel I've visited. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful - we got to pre-check in and the front desk held our bags both days that we needed them to. The atmosphere was amazing and I would definitely recommend and stay here again!
Bentley Hotel in New York City”
I have stayed at the Bentley Hotel on my last four visits to New York City. The experience of my first stay hooked me on this hotel. It is located right along the East River right next to the Queensborough Bridge. The rooms are nicely appointed and the staff is very courteous. Make sure to visit the top floor where you can have drinks and dinner. The views are phenomenal. The hotel is located in the city's upper east side so the area is very safe and there are many nice eateries scattered about. If you wish to move to midtown, it costs about 10 dollars by cab and takes 15 minutes and you are at Times Square. I plan to use this hotel whenever I am in New York City for either business or pleasure.
The only other downside, but not a huge deal, is that there is a gas station below the hotel. It COULD be loud if you're on the lower levels and there is a lot of activity. We were on the second floor and we read reviews saying that it was loud...but it really wasn't at all.
We were there for an appointment at the Sidney Kimmel Center. The hotel was very convenient in terms of parking and being able to walk to the center. It relieved alot of stress.
Just like described”
Compared to the other hotels I´ve lived in in n.y.c the Bentley didn´t stand out although it was on the higher end side price wise. Maybe Sandy, the storm, had gotten into the personnel, but I didn´t get the kind of service I was expecting. It wasn´t bad but it wasn´t good either. Got a quite cold welcoming at the reception and the cleaning lady just came into the room altough I asked her not to (just from the shower, didn´t want to meet any new people dressed just in a towel :)). And this happened a few hours before our check out time. Really can´t figure out why she couldn´t wait until 12:00 to change the towels.. The room itself was exactly like described what´s always a good thing.
Had a bad experience booking, and The Bentley didn't help. I booked the dates of my trip for the 13th and 14th. However, they messed up by entering my dates for the 14th and 15th. I knew it had to be an error on their end because they also put my first name as my last name and my last name as my first name. Anyway, I called a week before my arrival to confirm my dates, and The Bentley said I was all set. After a long drive we arrived at the hotel and they told me I wasn't booked for that night and they can't give me a room because the hotel was booked. Eventually I found another hotel to crash at for the night. The next night I went back to the Bentley (it was cheaper than the hotel I was at). But I had to cancel the 15th since i wasn't going to be there. I couldn't just call the hotel to cancel, I had to go through online, which was a long and arduous process. Two hours later I was finally able to cancel the 15th and proceed with my vacation. When we finally checked into our room (5pm with a check in time at 3pm) they told me that the room wasn't ready and that they were trying to find a "clean room" for us. After another 10 minute wait they finally gave us a room with a King bed (instead of a queen). Needless to say no one should stay here, or book.
Meh!!!!!! Excepted Better ”
We stayed at the Bently for my 30th Birthday, tied to check an hour early on look massive holding deposite on my card - then after finally haveint to wait to check in they said they hadnt taken a holding depoist on my card and after aguring with them about it - they made me charge my card again for a holding deposit or they would not let us stay in the hotel - not a good start Then when returing from dinner at 9.00pm we where told the rood top bar was closing early Great room - gorgorus views from the roof top but staff where not friendly and evern rude at time - Woudlnt stay here again
Lovely big hotel but a bit far out”
hotel manager was a little grumpy, but all the other staff were very co-operative, friendly and helpful. the rooms in ny are quite small, but our room was probably a bit bigger than the average uk sized room. the bed was amazing and huge. the bathroom was a little dated, as was the hallway decor. i had a comfortable stay
The hotel is very clean. The room was small but manageable. There was a long desk along the window but no outlets which was inconvenient. Staff was friendly although at times there didn't seem to be enough staff which is one reason I didn't like having to request ice .
Bentley Hotel, New York, NY”
The location of Bentley Hotel in New York was great, right on 62nd St., only a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway. The hotel has a fresh and new modern look with very ornate decorations. Staff is great and tries to help in any way possible. However, all you pay for when staying at this hotel, is the room itself. No extra services are available (i.e. internet, ice, coffee, etc.). The walls are also thin... therefore you can hear your neighbor pretty clearly.... Next time I might just stay at a cheaper hotel that is maybe not as nice, but has much more amenities.
Devil is in the details”
Staying in the Bentley Hotel was in general a good experience and value for money was good. Checking in and out was painless and everybody got an upgrade when checking in. Details in the room were not up to the standard and lifts were very slow. Personnel was kind and helpful through out our stay, but some didn’t speak much of English! Rooftop terrace was under renovation, which was a pity.
Avoid this place!”
I can understand why this hotel is rated well- it's a bargain rate for a NYC hotel. However, if something goes wrong- don't expect it fixed. My toilet didn't work for the first 24 hours I was there. YES- this is correct- no working toilet for 24 hours. And I was charged fully for this day.
