The room was very neat and clean with a window opening towards the street. The bathroom was clean and hot water available 24/7. The lift was not working though and I advise you to ask about the floor you are given the room on because it can be a bit of a hassle with luggage to go on the fifth floor via stairs. Otherwise our stay was pleasant as it is centrally located and just a 3 to 5 min walk from tube station and street full of cafes and restaurants.

Most positive experience with a hotel in my life! Seriously. Yes, the rooms and the bathroom are small, but it’s warm and cozy, the beds are comfortable, the tv is good and it’s cute and clean. The location is top, 2 min from Hyde park, tube and bus stops. You didn’t travel to spend days in your room anyway, did you? And the people there, I’ve been travelling quite a lot and we’ve never met somebody like our favourite receptionist ever, here in this hotel! My child was excited every time we would be going back to the hotel, asking if he’s gonna be there! We couldn’t ask for a better accommodation :) they will be seeing us again

Although I didn't have the pleasure of meeting him during check-in, he made a point to greet me the following day and inquire if I had any concerns or requests. I had a great stay at the Berjaya: my room on the top floor was great, the hotel was relatively quiet (or it was in the room) and the bed was comfy and the room was very clean. The aircon didn't work and the room was very hot on arrival, but honestly I can't complain about that for the price and being on the top floor meant I was able to open the windows. Obviously this isn't the Ritz, but (again) for the price, I'm really happy: the staff were great, the room was clean and comfortable, the linen and towels were clean and fresh and the water was hot. Ok, the lift is rickety, the wallpaper is peeling off in places and the rooms don't quite look like the pictures, but again, these felt like cosmetic issues, given the price I paid for the room and floor I was given, I'm very happy and will stay again. It was an easy and pleasant experience and the hotel is in a great location next to the Hyde Park, near to Notting Hill and close to Marble Arch with easy tube access on the central line. Full disclosure, I did stay previously and was given two basement rooms (I had to move once) which were absolutely awful. I had to stay again this time due to work in the area and this second stay was a totally different experience. This hotel has some rooms that perhaps should be fixed or taken out of service, but I would say that the bad reviews the hotel gets are based on those rooms, not the others on offer. It's a lottery I guess as to what you might be allocated... I will see when i stay again!
