Was there to celebrate my husband birthday, get a complimentary cake for him , staff are helpful and polite . Thai restaurant inside the resort is super nice, recommended . Having a good time there , definitely will come back again

the overall experience feel a bit dissapointed. the front desk, reservation and house keeping staff are amazing. kudos to them. the bar staff, hrmm where to begin. the band at bar is amazing, and the bar itself beautiful and at great location. but it never packed to brim. after twice there, we understand why. the staff are not friendly and always zone out on the side of the bar. its so hard to call them to place order or to pay bill. unless we have to walk to bar. and bear in mind that its no packed and they are doing nothing and just chit chat. the bar person is the heart and soul of the bar. it makes a lot of differences. change the bar person or ask them to change the attitude. my biggest complaint would be the food. our package include dinner and breakfast. for such a hyped resort, its so dissapointing. the breakfast is 95% repetetive. the dinner choice is not much and its taste terrible. how could someone messed with mash potato recipy? thats mind boggling. its feel like the food is not tasted by the chef before sent out for the buffet spread. the moment i struggle to scoop up the panna cotta, i anticipate the quality of the overall spread to be bad. specifically the western food spread attempt on 30/09 sunday. oh my, oh my. please please improve the food quality. tips for traveller, if you walk to the main entrance, there is 2 restaurant that sell cheap and amazing food and cheap beer. the main beach near pool and buffet is not that nice. walk toward beach bar and just keep walking toward dive centre near marine park. the beach and water is amazing.

Friendly and good service”
Location is beautiful and the place is properly maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful to accommodate my special request such as adding an extra bed at a moments notice and allowed me some flexibility with the check-out arrangements. I was even upgraded to a junior suite! For me, I only wish for 2 aspects to be better. 1. I was told that the free shuttle service is only meant for transportation between jetty and lobby. Lucky for me, the drivers were willing to accommodate my request for drop off between the 2 locations. Given the size of the resort, getting to the entrance itself is already quite a walk. Hence, I think it is only reasonable that this service be communicated as part of standard procedure. 2. Though the breakfast spread is quite wide, i think the quality could substantially improve.

Really pleasant stay”
We had a really pleasant stay at Berjaya Resort. The room was clean and had all the amenities, the breakfast buffet was perfectly decent too. They have an activities desk in the main lobby where you can book snorkelling / diving tours, which was very useful. Staff were generally really nice too. The free shuttle to and from the jetty was much appreciated. Would recommend to anyone visiting Tioman Island.
Our annual trip to Tioman Island and will never missed out this hotel. This is one of the best place to be in Tioman Island. Restaurant staff are very attentive and they clean the table all the time and good service. Huge compound and perhaps need motorbike or bicycle to move around within the resort lol. Golf course, dive center and other resort facilities... Good for corporate retreat too.

The location is near to the town of Kampung Tekek, in which you can walk (15 min) or take a taxi (RM40 for return). They do offer in-house snorkeling package which is cheaper and easier, e.g. RM90 for 4-hour snorkeling package to 3 locations. They do provide shutter pick-up for check in and check out. Just look for their bus outside the jetty. However, the rooms need to refurbish as they look old and dark inside, as well as the furnitures.
Short break over the weeekend”
The place is truly a slice of paradise. Everything is exactly as advertised. Convenient pick up from the ferry terminal, smooth check-in process, prompt escort to the room and we were set. The room was just as I expected. Cozy and reasonably well appointed. The beach is less than 50 meters away, while the bar, restaurant, pool, spa, gym, games room etc are all within a 3-5 min walk. Getting to the main town is a bit of a pain, and I do recommend that the hotel maintain some sort of shuttle into town and back on a regular basis. It is just 2km or so but due to the terrain it becomes a bit of a bother to walk it up and down. The food at the Matahari restaurant is great while the main restaurant Sri Nelayan is just about satisfactory on the breakfast and lunch buffets. The highlight of this property, I think, is the friendly staff. They are truly outstanding in their service attitude. Always smiling and ever ready to help. I will be back!!!!

Lost and Found”
Sorry, I can't remember the name of the person on the 28th Oct around 9.00am, he couldnt find my lost item in their house keeping dept, I was checking out that day, could not wait any longer so left for ferry jetty. While waiting at the jetty, this person came all the way to pass me back the lost item at the jetty. Thank you again to this person, you know who you are.

I went to this resort for the diving facilities and its wonderful but the resort room and other facilities is quite old and broken. place is abit further inside but its clean and good enough to stay. quiet environment and a few restaurants around the resort and outside have 2 cheap and delicious resorts

The arrangement of buffet seating”
Overall I think the resort is nice but lots of red ants as few of us got bitten. The beach is nice and swimming pool is very fun for kids. The only thing that I didn't like is the breakfast buffet for the first day. It is do crowded and the management decided to reserved so many tables to the tour and make everyone waiting for table. Almost half of the hall is reserved and waiting for people to come and there is tons of people waiting to get seat. Management should consider first come first serve on the peak season as already know the hall can't even occupy the crowd.

Unreasonable Waiting Time due Check In”
We arrive around 11.30 am and do the check in procedure and was asked to come back at 2pm due to there's still a guest inside. We go for lunch and come back at 2.30pm but the room still not ready. I asked when its can be ready and they said another 1 hour due to they havent do the housekeeping. This also i need to asked, if not we will waited for nothing. My question is since guest is waiting why housekeeping didnt prepare the room that a customer already waited for. But i still waited and around 3.10pm i did asked again and they gave me a keys and said one of the room is still not ready. I take the key and go to the room and yes one of the room, the housekeepong still doing cleaning. They ok and very friendly. But still check in time almost 4 o'clock after our long journey is not acceptable. This is not cheap or budget chalet.

Good and spacious resort but food is overbilled”
The resort was clean enough and provided some of the very good facilities but many of them like sports or other activities came with additional costs which should have been by default facilities. Also, the food at the restaurant was over charged for the quality and quantity that was offered. Since it's too long a walk to go outside the resort and explore places outside, we were stuck to pay hefty bills for simple lunch and dinners.

plates, cups, food during breakfast were not available due to the overwhelming guests. the turn around for those item were managed poorly. No recreation activities such as kayaking and sea sports activities options. the games room is not properly maintained, few mini soccer tables were out of order. the pool tables were dirty, no staff at the counter. I hope this can get improved because i personally love Tioman and Berjaya brands.

The resort is a bit aged, but then again they’re not charging like the other resorts on nearby islands. We were there in the day is just after Christmas and they were a bit understaffed and not many guests also. Admit that some of the secondary restaurants and bars were not open but the value was still very good. And the ferry to Thum’ in has quite a pain and you never really know what time it will leave. The negative thing about Berjaya Resort is they don’t have their own fairy at a private boat because literally 10 times more than the public ferry. Their food is good and drinks are reasonable ($2.50 USD per beer, $5 USD mixed drink). We took in boat from an outside service island hopping the entire day for only 300 - 500 Ringit
Best place to relax”
We have been in Berjaya in mid of November, which means beginning of rain season. In fact there were, because of that, almost no people in the hotel and we had the amazing clear sea almost for ourselve. In the 7 days we stayed, we had just 10 minutes rain :) For us it was perfect, I've never saw a clear sea like that (I'm travelling a lot), if possible do the snorkeling tour offered from the hotel, it was very cheap (around €22.-) for around 7 hours!! I saw a turtle, sharks and soooooo many beautiful fishes :) Snorkeling in front of the hotel is beautiful as well. Sure, the hotel is not the newest anymore, but it is very clean, and it is not moldy. Make sure if you want to have a lot of restaurants,.. in front of you it may be not the right place, the walking way is about 15 min over a small hill, there you have a lot :) I would definitely come back, berjaya and tioman island is wonderfull!!
