            Best Value for Budget Money”

Good Value, Accessible Location, Friendly staff

As a budget traveler, I feel very happy that I found Berlay that is sooo affordable and located beside the road. I also walk to Abreeza Mall and very safe at night. Two of us stayed at P500 per room, so for P250 a day per person, own bathroom, and airconditioned plus Free Breakfast, just a best deal for me.

We reserved the room for 4 days months ahead but when we went there they were fully booked. I talked to the staff that our reservation was paid through credit card and that was month before. I even showed them the receipt sent to me through email. Right before I get supper disappointed they transferred us to their branch which is a bit farther from our seminar venue. Nonetheless, the place where they transferred us to was good.

            Wouldn't recommend.”

We booked this Inn since it's one of the well known in the internet. When we arrived and the receptionist doesnt seemed trained to accomodate visitors. It took us quite long before we can check in (it was way past 2pm already). She can't find their list/log whatsoever so she had a hardship assigning us a room. When we got into the room we asked the other lady, (the one that guided us on our room) what type of room was this, she said SMALL. While we booked MEDIUM. She went downstairs and when she got back she just told us that its a MEDIUM room, we might as well just booked the small room then. We do not have the towels ready as well. We just claimed it when we got back from the tour. The room is super small. Just enough for the bed and a little space to walk though the door. The stairs are narrow. You should be very careful, especially when you have a bulky bag. I have 2 bags. 1 duffel and 1 backpack, for safety, I brought down 1 bag first after another. The stairs is accident prone. The bathroom was so small. I am a 5ft petite girl and cant even move properly inside. The faucet is weird,  the water flows in the the edge of the sink. You have to put your hands or a cup directly underneath the faucet in able to get water from it. Overall. The facility seems to be just for profit and doesnt care for the wellfare and safety of their customers.

            Good stay.”

Good thing is you can leave your things here when you'll be out in the city and no one will ever disturb you. However having a room in the 4th floor using only the stairs because building dont have elevators is exhausting. Small rooms are literally small room enough space for a bed. Too small space for CR. You can't move around when taking shower not good for claustrophobic people. Good for 1 night stay for quick stop.

            Good Location”

Hotel location is good. However, here are some of my comments regarding our stay: - I paid for 4 persons in Agoda. Staff said there was a discrepancy on their website and since we booked the LARGE Room, we only supposedly paid for 3 persons. Since we were a group of 5, I paid for another 2 persons. This is disappointing because if we're dealing with payments, we need to be very clear on how we advertise online. - Free breakfast was not consistent. 1st day was bread + coffee. 2nd day there's just bread + hot water (no coffee). 3rd day there's no bread anymore. This is one of the amenities every traveler hopes to be very good. - No staff cleaning on corridors. No trash can provided. Have to go down on 2nd floor just to access free wifi. Aircon fan was not working hence the top bunk bed don't have enough air. Staff were accommodating though.

If youre just looking for a place to sleep this is great but if you want a cozy clean not stressful place to stay book in other hotels since this is just for people who wants to save money on accomodation as the price here per night is cheap. Good for groups

It seems so hard to deal with them. The language is the major problem. Other problems encountered are the facilities, the location is not that clear so I guess they can provide better landmark.

Did not let us check in on time”

Wasted over 3 hours waiting instead of enjoying davao. Staff informed me that they are fully booked. How could that happen when I booked in advance. And they were demanding for a receipt when i keep showing them the booking voucher they don't acknowledge it because as per the staff it does not show the amount paid. like? who cares i already paid for it.

            👌🏼”

Well, you get what you paid for. The place is super cheap so don’t expect anything fancy. Even if the room was so small at least there is a private bathroom. Only 1 towel is given and no complimentary soap, toothpaste and shampoo so make sure to bring your own.

            Worst hotel I’ve been to”

To start with I always book the cheapest hotel I can get. I’m not picky when it comes to hotel, something to stay in for the night would be fine until I experienced staying a night at this hotel. The size of the room was fine. But the bathroom.. the bathroom was the worst. There was no water at our room. The staff told us to use one bathroom at 3rd floor instead (we stayed in 4th floor) - and that was the most hassle thing. There are no elevators. Don’t ever try to book at this hotel, you’ll regret it bigtime.

            Medium room ad is fake”

The ad for a medium room that should have 2 beds is actually just one single bed. They asked me for additional payment even after i showed them that the ad specifically states 2 beds. They claim that they have a smoking area, since davao is very strict with it, but they will only ask you to smoke at the front of the lobby and hide if there are enforcers passing by. Total waste of money.

The area is a bit old, not too clean and warm. The signal is too weak. They have no wifi. Cheap but not too worth it.

Don't be fooled by the price”

I booked a room good for two for one night here it was very cheap but upon arrival, I realized that the savings are so not worth it. Expect next-to-zero customer service. A grumpy receptionist will greet you. Dirty laundry and garbage bins are scattered along the hallway the building leaks. Literally, there was water on the floor from the first floor to the third floor even inside our room when we came back. The room was tiny and the aircon was so loud you'll have difficulty sleeping. No garbage can and faucet in the CR doesn't work at all.

The room smells bad inside and on the lobby near the kitchen it smells a rotten food with clogged sink, and I really hate the smell and dirty stairs on the second floor. the following day early in the morning we checked out. It was a bad pension house, i will never recommend it to anybody.

Bedbugs present, no trashbin inside, no floormat near toilet, dark hallways ”

Although it has aircon and toilet inside the room,I think it was the worst! First night, I had bites in my arms from bugs. I hate that there was no floormat inside the room making it wet and slippery since toilet was just located one foot away from the end of the bed. The guy who was incharge in the counter during my last day didn’t even care to help me bring down the things I have. I even asked him to help me bring the boxes of fruits outside but he waited for me to call him for the second time since he was so busy watching tv series or teleserye at noon time.
