Absolutely Amazing!”
I could not use words to describe how appreciative I am to be staying at Bessho Sasa this time with my family including a 15-yo teenage son. We came here last year for the main hotel but not the Bessho floor and we fell in love with the whole hotel and their service already so we decided to come again this year for the executive floors called Bessho Sasa. The service is impeccable as always and the private in-room hotspring gives us a great joy. Super clean and tidy room and we enjoyed every single bit of it. Yeah it's not cheap but it worths every single penny that you spent! Highly recommended!!!
Beautiful ”
Room was very clean, spacious, and has beautiful view of mount fuji from the outdoor bath. It included breakfast and dinner. Dinner was spectacular and special but the breakfast was old school buffet style with not many special varieties. Staff was very friendly, and we were provided with english menus which was very helpful. While the room itself is spectacular, what was not mentioned is that bessho sasa is part of a bigger hotel and is “special” only on the 4th and 5th floor. We got private outdoor onsen which made it super special! however because the hotel is big there were a lot of other guests (high season) so its not so quite (unless you stay in the room / in the 4th floor lounge). The hotel actively involve guests in the taiko drum show everyday with bingo which was definitely something different, fun and very engaging. The hotel location: personally its better to have a car to get around, they do park the car for you (no parking fee) which is good.
Great View, Great Service and Great Location”
There is nothing bad to say about Bessho Sasa Hotel. Everything here is great, from the view, the service given to us and its close proximity to everything happening near Mount Fuji. My wife and I were welcomed from the moment we parked our car, and the close attention by the hotel staff was really very much appreciated. The view of Mount Fuji from the room was great, greeting us every morning when we woke. And the short travels to two of the five Fuji lakes, as well as Oshino Hakkai was definitely a plus for travelers like us.
The Best Ryokan we have ever stayed at”
To be rather frank, I had high expectations for Bessho Sasa, given the price we paid for the room. But the staff at this ryokan went above and beyond, and smashed through all our expectations of this accommodation. The service was top notch. The staff were so enthusiastic and welcoming. The rooms were amazingly comfortable and large. The in room bath was not too small and had a beautiful view of Mt Fuji. The public baths were all very well maintained and large. The rooftop bath was particularly exceptional. The food was amazing. The drum show and Bingo game every evening was also very fun. On exploring the expansive grounds, we came across a small cabin where we were served some hot, homemade drink. That staff's welcoming demeanour was the icing on top of the cake. All in all, this was hands down the best ryokan we have ever been to. We would love to come back again one day!
A little expensive but amazing”
We had an amazing stay here. The view of Mount Fuji was amazing and the food was delicious. It was definitely out of our price range, however we splurged since we wanted to spend a night somewhere with an onsen. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat if I had the budget. The Bessho Sasa is actually only 2 floors out of another hotel, so would also consider staying in the regular hotel rooms as it is probably cheaper.
I will remember this trip for the rest of my life.”
The hospitality at Bessho Sasa was next level out of this world. I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff went above and beyond to help us in every way so we did not have to lift a finger. The seven course meals were unbelievable. The baths were beautiful and relaxing. I can’t say enough good about the experience we had. We wanted to have an otherworldly experience and we were transported the second we landed at the hotel. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed. We will not forget this experience - 10/10. Thank you for everything!
great staff”
Gorgeous garden. Amazing dinner and breakfast. Fun evening show. Stayed one night in a Bessho Sasa room for three (highly recommend) and one night in the Presidential Suite (our daughter got married in the garden that day so it was a special family splurge) Assigned us wonderful staff, Yuki and Misaki, who spoke excellent English. The dinner and breakfast was extra fancy in the suite. Only complaint is that the breakfast rice was not freshly made (yes, I noticed). Yes the room is expensive but the quality and quantity of the included meals must be worth $200/person. Well worth it.
Completely Impressed”
From the dedicated service staff to the Bessho Sasa floors (located on specific floors of the main tower of Hotel Kaneyamaen) to the breath-taking view of our lanai and open-air bath...this is where I would return for my honeymoon. Service is impeccable, our suite was amazing and very comfortable, the grounds are so beautiful is leaves you speechless. During our stay there weren’t any clouds so we had an unobstructed view of Mt Fuji from our back lanai and open-air bath...incredible!
Amazing experience ”
The hotel is beautiful! We chose a room with a private onsen and a view of Mount Fuji. They served a dinner inside the room, food simply amazing. I asked the hotel before my arrival to support me on a surprise for my husband birthday, they not just did it perfectly but also gave him a special gift.! Bessho Sasa was a perfect experience in Japan!
Great birthday celebration for my mother with a group of family”
We drove to Bessho Sasa hotel and had a warm welcoming by staff and easy check-in experience. Room was spacious and very clean with great view (unfortunately it was foggy during our stay, otherwise it would be perfect!). Rooftop hotspring was absolutely something you CANNOT MISS. Food was very nice and staff was very friendly (though it took us a while to figure how to get to our designated dinning room). Highly recommended to travelers who want an mt. fuji hotspring experience!
Perfect experience. Wonderful food, location, and facilities. ”
My husband and I enjoyed every moment of our time at the hotel. The hotel was clean, beautiful, had private rentable baths, and so many other incredible amenities. We debated over which hotel to visit and are so glad we chose Bessho Sasa.
The best modern ryokan/traditional resort with amazing Fuji view!”
Definitely will recommend people to spend their leisure time at Bessho Sasa! Top notch quality of service and hospitality, with lots of resort's attractions for guests such as traditional music performance. Will be back here again!
Memorable and enjoyable visit”
One of the best rooms with private open air onsen we have stayed in. Dinners were served in the room and they were very delicious. Breakfasts were buffet style and served in a large dining room shared by guests of both hotels, Bessho Sasa and Kaneyamaen. We plan to come back to this hotel.
See Fujisan from in-room onsen”
Bessho is 4th and 5th floor of Kaneyamaen Hotel. Decoration is kind of modern. Open-air bath is a bit difficult to see Fujisan. You have sit on the exact corner and have to be tall enough to see. However, from the dining table, you can see Fujisan beautifully as long as you want. Not so sure if it worth extra price for sort of club floor like this because all other facilities are shared with Kaneyamen. 3 public onsen. One is dated. Another one is nice. The third one is on the rooftop and separated men and ladies by time i.e. morning is for men and afternoon is for ladies. Hotel, means Kaneyamen, has a huge area, big garden, nice tea room, karaoke, drum show. Dinner is exquisite. Breakfast is in a large room with lot of selections. Again, breakfast is the same for both customers of Bessho and Kaneyamen. In summary, it is a nic place to stay but not so sure to go extra for Bessho, instead of just Kaneyamaen.
One of my best stay ever”
Most of the time, you what you see on the photos posted, you might give a pinch of salt, not forBessho Sasa. Truly a high quality hotel room. Wanted to book the Fukuchi Type A room, however it's fully book on that day. So I've booked the Mizuho room instead. The room is just slightly smaller but still extremely clean, with coffee machine, food served in the room's dining table and etc, the experience has been one of the best I've had. On top of which, the highlight must be the Onsen at you balcony. What else can one ask for? It's awesome! Pricey but worth it if you have the budget. They even prepared a small gift for my girlfriend because it's her birthday. The thing I didn't like was that they are extremely strict on checkout time, which is annoying.
Great View of Mt. Fuji”
Great view of Mt. Fuji from the romms and hotel. Attactive small Japanese garden. Variety of public hot spring rooms. Enjoy the hot spring bathtube and dining experience in our special room, BESSHO SASA. However, the room located on the lower floor, feel like people and cars drove by can really see very clear of inside the room at night~ Rush in the breakfast and not things around may be some drawbacks...
Ok, but it’s only ok”
This is actually Hotel Kaneyamaen. If u booked bessho-sasa, it just like booked the executive floor room of hotel Kaneyamaen. The differences are open air bath in each room, access to the floor lounge which has some free drinks and a massage chair, in-room dinner, and about double of the room rate. The hotel has some pretty good facilities. I like the onsen on rooftop and the beautiful garden. But again, u can still enjoy all these if you stay at Kaneyamaen at about 1/2 of the price of bessho-sasa. I honestly had set my expectation wrong (i thought bessho sasa is an luxury ryokan), so i was disappointed. Dinner was ok but nothing memorable. Breakfast was buffet style (don’t expect the japanese style breakfast as in a ryokan). If u are looking for a luxury ryokan, i would not recommend bessho-sasa. If u are looking for a good hotel with onsens, i will not recommend bessho-sasa either, book Kaneyamaen. If u want to upgrade your room at Kaneyamaen, then book Bessho-sasa.
Awesome accommodation and Food menu but staff are clinical. ”
Accommodation was more spacious than most ryokans. Facilities & food menus Were excellent. Sadly staff were totally clinical, low energy & dis-engaged. I hurt my back & called from my room asking for assistance. My call was passed over at least 3-4 different people. I walked down with much pain to reception & kindly requested for assistance / call for an in-house doctor or location to nearest hospital. They asked me to come back in 1 hour when their only English staff starts his rotation. ! A stand by man helped to translate & got the address to the nearest hospital for me. When I got there, it was for internal organs & surgery only, not for sprain or muscle cramps or pull. At least the hospital attempted to use Google translate. Took pain killers & checked out one day earlier forgoing my full payment. Jst don’t want to stay there longer than necessary. Shame TOP notched rated hotel like Bessho Sasa just can’t be bothered about their guests. Esp in times of need.
Loved it”
1 night at Bessho was very lovely!! First sense of arrival was a great touch from staff, checking in process waa quick and perfectly smooth. Our carry-on was fast delivered to our room before we arrival there. The room is huge enough for us to relax and importantly clean. A free voucher was given to visit tea-room, nice touch of green tea and snack! The dinner was awesome but one thing we don't eat Beef and normally we get used to when chef would have asked us what to eat and not to, this time no and the staff said the Japanese Way the guest is required to note them which was fine thats okay then. Overall its beyond my expectation.
Stay experience”
Stayed at Bessho Sasa. Everything was great except checking out. I was struggling with a couple of huge luggage at the lobby( especially those steps in the lobby) and I wasn’t offered any assistance despite having so many staff in the lobby. Some of them just stood there and watched on. I was quite surprised with such poor hospitality at a well known hotel
