Cozy, quiet hotel near city centre”
Cozy. Old building with character. Friendly staff. Good food. Short walk to shopping and Cathedral area.
service”
No support moving the luggage to room
Nice staffs”
Nice stuffs
Exceptional Staff”
ON arrival at the hotel we were greeted by friendly staff. They were very welcoming and accommodating. Although I was not given my Best Western points the staff offered us an upgrade and also a free drink as a compensation for not having the points. Room was very clean and a quiet hotel. Thank you - walking distance to City Centre
Julia from United Kingdom”
Excellent hotel, rooms very comfortable and clean, plenty of choice for breakfast and all freshly cooked. Staff very friendly and helpful could not find fault with anything we had a very enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend.
Exceptional”
Lovely hotel , very clean ,friendly helpful staff, ideal location close to the town centre
Good value for money ,clean and functional just a little dated ”
My room was lovely and clean with a lovely walk in wardrobe, good tea and coffee making facilities. My only complaint is that the pillows were quite uncomfortable and the bed quite short .
Lovely rooms ”
We got an excellent price on a double room and the rooms are lovely. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. My only con is the breakfast. We hadn’t pre paid for one so paid £13.50 on the day (each). It was a help yourself system, however the hot food was lacking, had to wait a while for eggs in which time the rest of our food had gone cold, there wasn’t any beans and it was just a bit lacking and over priced in our opinion. However, when one of our group looked on line it said there was a menu we could have ordered from? When question they said yes and then we ordered from it and it was much better. However they would have never of told us about it unless we asked. The majority of the restaurant staff were helpful but they was one lady in particular who was very curt and didn’t have a very good manner. Everything asked of her seemed to inconvenience her. But overall, a pleasant stay and suited our needs. Just a few more smiling faces needed in the restaurant.
Charming hotel close enough to town centre”
The hotel has a very nice vintage charm to it. The corridors and staircases are lined with beautiful paintings and the room, though minimalistic is decorated nicely. The facilities such as television and hot showers are functioning well and the staff at the reception are friendly. The hotel is not right in the centre but the town centre and the cathedral are only a short walk away. I'd recommend staying at Best Western Abbotts.
Excellent”
The hotel was central to the event I was attending, clean, tidy and a lovely large room and bathroom. The staff, especially the lady on reception who checked me in was so friendly, helpful and a great ambassador for your hotel.
Bit noisy at night ,but from other people staying so no fault of the hotel”
Breakfast was excellent, large selection of fresh and cooked food. Staff very good
No complaints”
5 minutes walk to centre of Canterbury. No negatives at all regarding hotel. Not sure where Agoda got their “£360” original price from for the night as even the hotel were advertising £120 for walk-ins!
A charming option ”
Intriguing structure, a bit aside from downtown but with the charisma of an old villa into the greenery. Not comfortable if you like to explore the city centre, rather a romantic alternative
Good stay ”
Highly recommend!
Good size room for single person. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Good proximity to town centre.”
Whilst I was unable to check in before 2pm my bag was delivered to my room whilst I went into town which was a nice touch.
Good location”
Good location, staff helpful. We had a room on the top floor and unfortunately we could hear pigeons in the loft coring and walking around. The hotel is being extended but this did not interfere with our stay
Overall enjoyable stay but...”
First of all I'd like to stay how lovely and professional the staff was, providing us with a cot for our baby, sorting out an overpayment straight away and printing off our ferry tickets! The hotel is located within walking distance of shops and the walled city. The room was recently refurbished and very clean, even if the decor feels a little dated (to fit with the "age" of the main building?). It was extremely comfortable and - despite what I read on here - really great value for the money. We had a standard double with a cot and still space to walk around. There was a good selection of teas, chocolate drinks and coffees. Only snag: no fridge! The only issue that we add was with the room service. We had a look at the menu and ordered 2 sandwiches: the salmon/cream cheese/cucumber and the minute steak with horseraddish and caramelised onions. Both were available with a white or wholemeal cob or a baguette. We decided for the wholemeal cob. When it arrived, it turned out as supermarket sliced bread and both our sandwiches had something missing: no cream cheese on the salmon and no horseraddish with the meat. The salad dressing and crips were nice though! But for the most of £20 we felt it was a bit overpriced and decided not to have breakfast the next morning! The restaurant did seem quite busy so that might explain why they were a bit rushed, not sure we actually sampled the actual quality of what's really on offer. So in summary, we'd definetely stay again but wouldn't use room service. Once again the staff was really lovely and helpful!
Stayed one night”
Didn't have any meals here. Comfortable bed and spotlessly clean.
