This was a real surprise caught a tram from the station hopped of and walked to the hotel, the freindliest staff you could ask for, this was a great stay nice big modern rooms, excellent value. Great breakfast too just catch the 211 tram.
Quiet neighborhood close to subway”
Close to subway and supermarkets, extra charge Euro 12,50 for parking not included. Finally I needed to walk to three subway stations to find one with a counter accepting cash payment, international credit barefoot well accepted in this area of the town.
Good location, and good customer service”
When we arrived, the front desk staff gave us a very detailed map of the hotel and nearby facilities and transport which we thought it's really useful! Hotel to the tram station was nearby, about 5-10 mins walk. the 3 days that we stayed here the weather were pretty warm, since there's no air-conditioning/fan, we find it pretty hot at night. We had some food that needed to be kept in the fridge before we fly back to our home country, when we arrived the front desk staff did not allow us to keep the food in their fridge because their fridge is used for their restaurant's kitchen. But we tried talking to another kinder staff and we also spoke to the manager, and he allowed us to store our food in their fridge. We are truely grateful for that.
Enjoyable experience ”
My mom, grandmother and I stayed at west side inn for the spring holiday. Although it was away from the city, we were happy to save money and stay in a safe part of town. The walk to the tram was easy and from there you can get anywhere within 15-20 minutes. We were also very impressed with the breakfast and the helpful reception desk!
Simple but convenient”
Short sightseeing trip to Amsterdam. Approx. 30 min from main station (via tramline 2) and 7 min walking from tram station. (negative) Beds were extremely soft and not adjusted to each other - this aspect we sincerely disliked. Internet connection was excellent. It is a simple hotel but (positive) very well adjusted to the needs of touristic travelers. The connection to down town was acceptable. The hotel offered 24 hrs food service.
Modern budget hotel”
i stayed 1 night at this hotel. it's located quite far from the old center but public transport is readily available. my room was probably the largest they had (345). it had a double bed, small flat screen tv, large bathroom with free clean linen, a hall, free wifi, a large working desk and wardrobe. the room had large windows with only net curtains. overall i would recommend this hotel for budget travelers.
southern Amsterdam yet convenient”
the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I love the bar and restaurant. I love the big bathroom. and I love the neighborhood; even though it's quite a distance to the city center, it's accessible with tram and price-wise it's worthy. The hotel's airport shuttle connexion was very easy, hop on right in front of the hotel and took me to the airport in less than 20 minutes.
Really nothing to complain about. Was woken up by construction noises (around 9:00am) a few times, but when you're on holiday there's no point in oversleeping anyways. Staff was nice, and the hotel is conveniently close to the #2 tram station (Westlandgracht) that will connect you to city center (and pretty much anywhere else you'd need to go). Yes, it is under renovation, and isn't much to look at from the outside– as many low reviewers like to point out– but why be concerned with that? It's just the rooms that really matter, and ours were well maintained and provided a nice home base for us during our 5-day trip. All in all a good experience, I will probably return next time I visit.
Hotel is under renovation”
Hotel is under renovation and thus we have to take staircase at times. It's not very far from the tram stop, with 2 supermarkets nearby. A good suggestion for travellers who want to explore local life.
It’s under construction but did not effect our stay at all. It’s a 20min tram ride from central. Super easy to get around. The staff were lovely. Amsterdam’s accomodation was expensive but this was the best deal. Thanks
First time visitor to your hotel visited over 6 time to Amsterdam ”

Value for Mo ney”
After booking this hotel i began reading negative reviews ,i was afraid that i made a srong choice. When i checkex in and went in my room i found a very nice room newlt refurbished and very comfy beds.I would recommend this hotel.
Too far and too much work going on ”
The hotel is too basic and far from the city Accessible by tram but takes too long so you spend too much time in the tram. Plus no hot water so difficult to take shower in winter there is no tea or coffee in the room not even a telephone
not worth 85 euros a night”
40 minutes out of the city. no facilities whatsoever. ongoing refurbishment. Amsterdam is expensive but put some more money in a better hotel and stay closer to the center and with more class. Would not choose it again. like a bad american motel...
A hotel out of nowhere. Very easy to get to anywhere. Tram station is about 5 minutes walk. Direct bus "no. 2" takes you to places of interests and Dam Square. Also direct tram to the central train station. Nothing to shop around the hotel area. Prepare small notes or coins when you take the tram - €2.90 each trip. Good and safe overall :)
bad location, bad service”
bad experience: i stayed for five nights, but it is not valuable. firstly, we were arranged to a very small size room. i requested to change my room but they rejected. and i discovered that the size and style of every room is different. also, there is a big wall in front of my window and the television is in front of the mirror. therefore, i can't use the mirror for makeup or do anything. secondly, the near metro is far away from the inn that we must take 15 minutes walk as well as the location is far away from the shopping center. further, some strangers can enter easy and can use the facility in the lobby. i'll never ever visit it again.
Given slight hitches, still a good place to stay i”
Great: front desk was very attentive and gave very accurate information as to transportation and places of interest, their Cucina Italiana restaurant served flavorful food, and the location itself was near Schiphol. Areas for improvement: when I booked the hotel (at least), I understood that it had air-conditioning. As it turned out, there was none, and the room location was such that the sun shone strongly early in the morning. There was no fan to alleviate matters. As for the restaurant, staff at the bar and in the kitchen did not seem to agree as to whether the kitcen was still open or not.
Slowest elevators ever”
Before arriving at the Hotel, the staff was very cooperative and issued a letter for visa arrangements - it was highly appreciated. The hotel itself is very spacious. It can be a bit tricky to get there in the first time if you go by tram, but once you find the directions, then it is fine as the tram station is some 5 minutes away. A taxi ride from Amsterdam Centraal station can cost you some EUR 25. The hotel is huge but a bit run down in some areas. The exclusive elevator to the 4th floor was too slow, so we ended always taking the other one to the third floor and going on floor by the stairs. The room was quite spacious, clean and with basic amenities in the bathroom. The hairblower in the room was broken and the reception would lend one for half an hour when needed - this is not convenient at all. The hotel has several vending machines, a basic snack bar and a large restaurant. There should be some security for the luggage room. This facility is quite necessary in Amsterdam.
