Good One
Location of the hotel
Very nice hotel, with good facilities, enjoy the SPA! Good thing also is that in the evening when you come back to the hotel the road goes down

Don't waste your money
In the old part of town, staff were friendly
Terrible stay. The pictures do not tell you the story about the hotel. We paid extra for a bacony view of the Bosporos, and had a view of the apartments across the alley - with a small glimpse of the construction site on the water. The bed was hard, decoration early Ottoman. And i tried to contact to shorten my stay and received a voice mail saying their voice mail box was full! So I stayed the entire week. I visited Istanbul 25 years ago and this time, although the people were nice, was just too dirty, and the line-ups to visit sites were too long. I will not return.

Best western antea is a little gem
Located in a quiet neighbourhood close to sultanahmet square. Good clean rooms and very helpful staff.
An excellent base for a short duration sightseeing trip.

First night not good, but improved considerably.
The family room that they gave us after we complained about the triple. Lady on reception was very helpful and informative.
Was surprised by the surrounding area as it was very run down, and steep hills to get to the sights - but at least down hill at the end of the day. First night we stayed in the triple room and it was very small and dingy, even after they replaced the light bulbs that had blown. However, after we complained they did move us to a room that was spacious and light. The swimming pool was a surprise. The woman in the spa referred to it as a shock pool, but didn't see this in the details. It is very small pool and very, very cold! The gym consisted of a stepper, a bike and a treadmill. No other equipment. The rooftop restaurant didn't seem to be in operation but was still a nice area to sit and watch the boats on the sea - providing you stayed at the front of the building. It sloped down at the back and seemed a bit dangerous to be honest, so just avoided that bit. But there was always the sound of the football pitch on the other side of the road. But that didn't really bother us. Now the wailing at 4:30am outside did surprise me! Nothing to do with the hotel, but wasn't prepared for it at that time of day. The lady on reception presented us with little bags as a leaving present which I thought was a nice touch. Oh and the restaurant - not always the most attentive if you are just there for a drink, but happy to adapt meals if you didn't quite like what was on the menu. Breakfast had a selection, just be careful with the soft boiled eggs. Some aren't done enough and some have gone to hard boiled (there is a separate hard boiled section) and pancakes are cold! Lifts are very tiny too. just enough room for three people - but don't eat too much or you're wedged in!!

Not to a Best Western standard!!!
Arzu, the lady at the reception - made every possible effort to make this a comfortable stay; and secondly the location - 5-10 mins walk from Hagia Sophia.
Great location but the hotel was not upto a Best Western standard... we were offered a twin room inspite of requesting for a room with a double/ king sized bed... But the main issue was the level of cleanliness in the room, below average room service (they just do the beds with your used towels & bed liners all lying scattered on the floor and the worst bit was the A/C - it blew hot air... and when I complained to the manager who was on duty at night, his response was it is still winter in Istanbul and so the A/Cs were programmed to blow hot air!!!... However, we were blessed to have Arzu, the receptionist in the morning, who was very diligent, a good listener & upgraded us to a deluxe room on day 3... which was a lot better & well serviced... the issue that remained was the A/C & it was something Arzu had no control over... she aplogised & it made me feel good that at least she admits that its the hotel's fault rather than arguing (like the manager at night)... overall, I am not sure if I will ever come bk to this hotel but I will always remember & appreciate the efforts made by Arzu to make our stay as comfortable as possible( inspite of the technical limitations like A/C not working).

Lack of Space
1. The roof cafe is very nice and available all day and night long. 2. The design of the hotel is nice. 3. The area of the hotel is quiet.
I liked hotel's hamam, sauna and MASSAGE!!! Massage was great! The very disappointing moment was that the room was very very small, however photos on the web site show different picture. Window was small as well therefore there was lack of the day light. Another thing I did not like is some strange smell in the room and the source of it was not clear. Also, it was hard to find hotel in those narrow labyrinth streets. Other than that everything was good.
