Exceptional”
Yangon travelers will know that having a nice hotel at acceptable prices is a luxury in Yangon. Best Western has just that! Room interior, beds and finishing was of high standards by Yangon's standards. The only setback was its room size, which is abit small for a 4 star hotel. Location is prime within the heart of Downtown and the staff service was excellent. Nearby there is this highly recommended Sapel Burmese Traditional Foot Spa just one street away at 16th Street close to Mahabandoola main road. I returned to it many times during my stay for the ambience and 5 star service standards inside the massage place. It is truly something extraordinary from Yangon's unkept and dirty streets, especially a haven compared to the busy Chinatown streets outside. I think all tourists should go try out the place, especially relaxing after a day's tour and walk around downtown Yangon. It was the staff at Best Western Hotel who recommended me there - i think they really know the good places. You can ask them for other food recommendations as well, their service is superb.
Decor aside, a fantastic hotel”
I've stayed at many hotels in Yangon over the past few years, but have now settled on Best Western Chinatown for my regular visits. The location is perfect, the staff are absolutely faultless, the breakfast is great, the internet is stable, and the rooms are clean and comfortable with the better ones offering fantastic sweeping views towards midtown and the Shwedagon pagoda. The location is perfect for me, within easy reach of all destinations other than uptown. Sitting on the corner of two major roads, any fool can readily explain the location to a taxi driver. I visit on business and so spend about half my evenings in the hotel, and there are a wealth of street food places within a few minutes walk for a tasty quick dinner. Downtown Yangon is really quite small, and you can walk most of it's width from here in very little time. Some tourists may feel they want to be nearer to the Sule Pagoda area, but honestly it's about 10-15 mins walk max from here. You can even walk all the way to the old Secretariat on the other side of downtown in less than 30 mins. The staff are really quite excellent. Friendly and trained perfectly. On my last visit I happened to go out once leaving my safe open. The housekeeping team immediately reported it to their manager on entering the room, who took a photograph and log of time etc. On returning the manager came immediately to my room to check all was well. Laundry is often returned just a few hours after submitting, and room service or other requests are dealt with promptly and efficiently. Honestly, over a number of stays here I've never found anything to fault with the manner in which they conduct themselves. I only ever eat breakfast here as there is fantastic food available outside in the immediate area for lunch and dinner, but for a hotel in this price category the breakfast really is excellent. Lots of choice, with the one caveat that they never seem to do mangoes when in season. I've only ever stayed in Executive or Prem
A Fabulous Stay!”
In a sea of people and traffic in downtown Yangon, the Best Western was a wonderful oasis. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the room was nicely decorated, I had a great view from my room, you can adjust the temperature in your room, & there were ample toiletries. The breakfast was delicious with a good selection of Western & Asian fare. All of the staff were friendly & helpful. The concierge gave me a map on the night I arrived & some suggestions of what to see, and the next day another concierge got a taxi for me. There is a lot to see in downtown Yangon within walking distance of the hotel.

Great Location and Fantastic services”
Hotel is located next to Chinatown, downtown Yangon city. A lot of eateries, stalls and wet market selling fruits, vegetables, meat and etc. It is walking distance to Bogyoke Aung San Market (15mins) Sule Pagoda (20 mins) and Yangon Central Train Station (30mins). Hotel serves international breakfast (Burmese,Asian,Japanese sushi and western. Hotel stuff is friendly and willing to help.Hotel Rooms are clean and well maintained. Value for money!
Best value for money”
I stayed for 3 nights. Day one began badly due to bad odor in the room, and a problem with the toilet. The staff switched me to a room that was really nice, so day one experience became a distant memory. The staff is very courteous and perform their work with great pride, no matter if it is the front lobby, bell boy, or in the restaurant. The hotel is centrally located close to many historical attractions. I was able to absorb the sights, sounds, smells and cultural diversity of this busy city. Due to a very late evening return flight, I was allowed to extend the checkout for a small fee. All in all, my trip to Yangon was a wonderful experience, and I give full credit to the friendly staff at the Best Western Chinatown who made it a memorable one.
Excellent choice with great great service”
It was very pleasant stay. Great location downtown close to most sight of Yangon, hotel was smack in Chinatown with market stalls around the corner-lots to see and buy. Of particular mention is the staff and service..... Of all the hotels I have visited (including world class 5 star hotels), this ranks as one of the best service I have ever experienced. From the check in staff, to the concierge, to the housekeeping staff, to the waiters at the lounge.... Every single one of them demonstrated exemplary service levels. An excellent choice for accommodation in Yangon. Highly recommended
Narrow downtown hotel with small room with all amenities”
If you don't need a pool or a gym, but a functional small well-equipped room with a rather big bathroom and good internet access in downtown Yangon, the Best Western Chinatown Hotel is a good option. Breakfast buffet is nice. Good value for money.

Excellent Location, Friendly Staff”
If you are looking to be in the downtown area of Yangon then this is an excellent hotel for you. It is only a 5 minute walk to Chinatown, 10 minute walk to Sule Pagoda, and within a 10-15 minute walk of many other places to see while in Yangon. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Food for both breakfast and dinner at the hotel was excellent, room service available 24 hours a day. Our corner room on the 9th floor was spacious, very clean and quiet. Bathroom included both shower and tub. Excellent value for the money. I recommend you book a room on 8th floor or higher.
Exceptional”
Best Western Chinatown is a great hotel to stay, and it is located in one of the most convenient locations - surrounded by lots of food places. The staffs are very helpful and accommodating. They were willing to provide breakfast at 5 am for us because we had an early flight. This is by far one of the best hotels we experience in Yangon, and we have been to Myanmar more than four times. I am definitely coming back and I highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent Hotel but.....”
The hotel is located in the downtown of Yangon. It is very convenient as you can use Grab Taxi or Uber apps to get Taxi to move around Yangon. Everything is really great from entering the room to checking out except for only 1 lift (elevator) serves all the floors in the hotel, which sometimes require long waiting time and the noise from the cars along the road (which is beyond hotel control). Hence, not really recommended for light sleeper. We had a room facing Shwedagon Pagoda and we enjoy the view everyday. There is difference between day and night view of the Pagoda. There is a convenience store just beside the hotel and roadside food nearby too. Room is clean and value for money. We got an executive room which is quite spacious and enjoying the soak in bath tub. There is massage place just a few streets away too.

Good Hotel to stay in Yangon”
The hotel is strategically located in down town Yangon. It is within 10-15 minutes working distance to China town. Even to other places of attractions is within USD 2-4 taxi fares. If you like to experience and see the life of Yangon people and do not mind the noises ,then this is the place. Just walk out the hotel, you can see the street trader doing business from day to night. The hotel lobby and room is small but it is very clean and with comfortable bed and pillow. The hotel staff is very friendly. The hotel breakfast is very good, it have the combination of western and local food. The hotel has take efforts to serve different type of local food each day which give the guest chance to sample different type of Yangon breakfast.

Nice hotel with central location ”
Located in the heart of Yangon Downtown, Best Western Chinatown Hotel is a very good choice allowing to visit the city while having a comfortable basis to relax after meetings.
Great hotel”
This is the best hotel we've stayed in our time in Myanmar. Great location in downtown Yangon, A huge variety of breakfast selections, nice rooms, clean, friendly staff and good price in comparison to the other hotels we've booked. Only downside is there is only one lift which can take sometime to come, but there are stairs! Taxi to the airport cost 7000kyat.
value for money”
Located at chinatown and it's about 10 minutes from famous 19th street(full of stalls foreigners can have local food with locals). You can catch taxis in front my this hotel so it's very convenient location. Staffs are great. When checking in, they are so kind enough to offer me a glass of juice and reception staff was always doing their job with smile. My room was small but it's clean so no problem. Only one negative thing is the smell in the bathroom. I think that smell come out of black water. If they already repaired it, then it would be perfect. By the way, breakfast is very tasty you should try. Myanmar cuisine is commonly oily and hot which I'm not good at, but they offer so many kind food for customers. It was superb. Next time in Yangon someday, I'll absolutely be staying this hotel.
Great breakfast 🍳, splendid service and nice Executive Room”
Check in fast, thoughtful hotel service to give complimentary cake to celebrate me and my Wife 5th year wedding anniversary. Great breakfast spread, many choices from local to international food. Executive room very spacious, big glass panel toilet & bathtub with window facing a beautiful view of Shwedagon Pagoda. Location is well central and situated in the busy streets of Chinatown Yangon. Just within walking distance out of the hotel they are many restaurants and bars especially along 19th street
Great location and friendly staff”
Great location, right in the middle of the action in Chinatown. Very friendly and helpful staff, that speaks enough English to get by. Rooms facing north have a beautiful view of the Pagoda, but are unfortunately very noisy during the day, as there is constant honking and the windows don't seal well. That being said, things quiet way down around 10pm-6am, and I had no problems sleeping during that time. There is a small convenience store next door, which is useful. Breakfast buffet is great, with many options. For dinner, 19th street has many outdoor dining options, with many travelers. For a much bigger locals only scene, head down to Strand Rd. Yangon is a crazy but wonderful city. Embrace it and you will have a great time.
Nice Value”
We were doing voluntary teaching in Myanmar, and one of my friends suggested to go downtown having a nice break. The hotel is inside the China town, it is not very difficult to find. We selected Best Western mainly due to its reasonable price, the facilities and service proved our choice wise. The internet is good, and the staff in the restaurant are very nice. We had the Shwedagon pagoda in the view from our high floor room. Though we had some miscommunication with the front desk, the problem was solved quickly. Overall its a nice hotel to stay in.
One of the best hotels in Yangon”
This hotel was one of the best in Yangon that we stayed in. Although not 5 stars, it doesn't have 5 star price either. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was the best out of all the different hotels we stayed at. We were in Myanmar a month so we stayed at quite a few hotels. Stay at this hotel, you won't be disappointed!
Best hotel in Yangon”
I was really impressed with the overall experience with BestWestern Chinatown Yangon. The staffs were very well trained, and took time to assist us when we made inquiries. They were really friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is another plus point for us to come back and stay at the time in the future. It is located within the city center, shopping areas, and there are also of eateries closed by.

Nice clean hotel in downtown”
Best Western Chinatown is a new hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. The bathroom was functional with a separate shower cubicle. The staff was very friendly and could speak enough of English. The location is central with direct access to the Chinatown and othe sights, but for going to Schwedagon you may need a taxi.
