We have stayed in many of the themed hotels during the 17 visits we have had to Vegas. We wish we had found best western sooner. It’s small enough that you can find your room easily and each other! Which, if you have stayed in the bigger hotels you will really appreciate. Location is brilliant as are the staff. You can get a drink very easily in the casino unlike the bigger hotels where you never see a cocktail waitress. No resort fees, free wifi and parking and free coffee in the room. Maybe you have to stay in one of the big hotels first to really appreciate the benefits of best western. Just wished we had found it earlier. The staff are great.
The place does not charge resort fees- because it is not a resort. It offers basic accommodation at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. It is conveniently located across the Mirage, beside Harrah's and accessible to Walgreens, Denny's, Panda Express and McDonald's. It's not a 5 star hotel with amenities but it is clean, has a fridge, cable tv, hot and cold shower and airconditioning. The place could use an upgrade of furniture but otherwise, I would definitely recommend this for backpackers or anyone on a budget looking to see Las Vegas for a short period.
Location is very accessible with free parking and no membership or resort fee. Room is clean and basic amenities were provided. Rooms and facilities are dated. But overall, we had a greay stay.
I am in my early 50s, and my wife is in her late 40s. We stayed in a king bedroom. The location is excellent; it is easily accessible to everywhere. There is a bus stop in front of and across from the hotel. First, about parking... If you look at the hotel casino building from the main road, on the left end of the hotel casino, there is a Walgreens, and if you turn into the road next to it, you'll find the parking lot behind the building. If you're visiting for the first time, you might wonder, "Where is the hotel entrance?" It can be difficult to find, but if you go all the way into the casino on the first floor (the casino entrance has automatic glass doors that open sideways, and there seem to be 3 to 4 of them...), you will see Hotel Registration, and after checking in, to get to your room, you stand with your back to Registration facing the main road and walk straight to the left until you reach a glass door at the end. If you put a key in and take it out on the wall across from the glass door, it will open. The elevator is located in the middle of the corridor at the EXIT section and is hard to see. We stayed on the 4th floor, but using the stairs was more convenient than the elevator. After being assigned the room, when I tried to take a shower in the shower booth attached to the wall with the bathtub, the floor drain was not draining properly, and remnants were backing up from the drain, which was quite alarming. (The water was indeed draining, but it seemed to take at least 20 minutes for water that was about 10cm high in the bathtub to drain.) When I talked to the check-in counter about it (around a little past 00:00 on a Sunday morning), they said I could either wait for staff to come and fix it in the morning or just sleep. When I asked if they could change my room, they said there were no available rooms. (Coincidentally, it was the eve of Mexican Independence Day that day.) A little later, they said they could switch us to a 2-bedroom, so we changed rooms, washed up, and slept. I guess things like this happen since the hotel is a bit old, so just be aware of that. On the 1st floor inside the casino, there is a Subway, Pizza Hut, and hotdog shop that operate 24 hours. They are more useful than expected. Since it's next to the road and the first floor is a casino, I thought it would be noisy, but surprisingly, it is very quiet. If you're looking for a cost-effective hotel, I highly recommend it.
