A nice oasis in Phnom Penh”

Great service, nice pool

Stayed here for two nights as a bit of treat on our backpacking holiday. We were really impressed with this place from the beginning, especially the service. The staff could not do enough to help you and everything was done promptly and with no hesitation. They can organise everything from visas to bus tickets and they don't charge anything extra. The rooms are very clean and include a TV, safe and air con. The bed was so comfortable and the sheets looked as if they were brand new. The bathroom may be a little small for some people's taste but it was kept clean and had a shower with good water pressure. The pool area was a fantastic place to cool down after a big day in Phnom Penh and the restaurant surrounding the pool had excellent food at really low prices. The location is about a five minute walk from the river front area and restaurants but if you're feeling lazy a tuk tuk could get you there in a minute. It's also possible to walk to S-21 from there if you're energetic, it only takes about 20 minutes. The Billabong was excellent value for money and I'll be staying again if I'm in Phnom Penh!

Comfy place, clean and friendly staff.”

The swimming pool is a must in Phnom Penh, and they have it! Also with towels. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Billabong is one of the cleanest hostel I've ever been. I stayed in a 8bed room with bathroom ensuite and it was clean all the time. The sheets smell really good. It worth the price. The only thing I missed is the breakfast, or at least other prices. But if I go back to Phnom Penh any time, I will choose this hostel again.

An oasis in the city, fantastic hotel”

Great pool, friendly staff, good variety at breakfast

Having stayed at several different hotels during our trips to Phnom Penh, Billabong surely was the best yet. For a very reasonable amount of money you get to stay in a hotel that makes you feel as if your in a whole different place. As soon as you come into the lobby, you escape the rush, heat and filth that sometimes strikes you in the streets of Phnom Penh. The staff is very friendly as you would expect and the rooms are great. Overlooking the pool, spacious and with good air-conditioning, the rooms are equal to the rest of the standard of the hotel. Lots of different choices on the breakfast menu, and breakfast being served the whole day means you dont have to worry about missing out and feeling the need to wake up early.

Little Oasis in the heart of Phnom Penh”

Great service by hotel staff, nice swimming pool.

I stayed at Billabong Hotel in Phnom Penh over Valentine's Day weekend (12-14 Feb 2011) with my girlfriend. Location of the hotel is fantastic, just a short 5mins walk to Monivong Boulevard which is one of the main busy roads in the heart of Phnom Penh. Billabong Hotel is also just 5mins walk from Sorya Shopping Mall, one of the biggest malls in Phnom Penh. The hotel staff were fantastic, they were friendly and attentive always. I made my booking via Agoda and when I arrived at the hotel, the reception staff already had all my details ready. Hence checking-in was a breeze. My girlfriend and I loved the swimming pool. Overall, Hotel Billabong was well worth its price. The room I stayed in was not the newest, but it was well maintained. I did notice that renovation works are currently ongoing in part of the hotel, so I'm sure it will look fantastic once it's fully refurbished.

Great Hotel in great location with lovely pool”

Quiet location, great pool, solid restaurant

We loved this hotel in Phnom Penh! We were so happy to be away from the chaos of the girlie bars and backpacker hostels of the riverfront. This hotel is in a great location. Close to all of the craziness of the riverfront, but far enough away that you have a respite from the insanity. Our room was really nice with a big comfortable bed and modern bathroom. The pool was great, a really nice way to cool off after a long afternoon of walking the dusty streets of Phnom Penh. Breakfast was really good and the staff were delightful and friendly and very helpful. If we go through Phnom Penh again during our travels in Cambodia, we will certainly stay here again.

Incredible ambiance”

lovely pool, great decor, very comfortable rooms

we were quite dusty and tired after our "local" bus ride from battambang and the billabong hotel was the perfect escape for us once we had reached phnom penh! it is this lovely little oasis where you almost forget you are in a city! the pool is very scenic with lots of really comfortable chairs and lounges placed around. the little dining area beside the pool was also perfectly located and we enjoyed a late afternoon lunch of nice food. the room had great decor and the bed was comfortable as well there were great towels and linens! beautiful rain showerhead, but we did manage to run out of hot water. fantastic hotel, would definitely stay there again.

Central with nice swimming pool, lovely service”

Wonderful swimming pool and family room

I guess the thing i enjoy the most about Billabong is its lovely swimming pool and the green surrounding of tropical plants which gave me a sense of calmness. The thatch-roof restaurant by the pool is airy and serves delicious food & drinks. The hotel's staff provided pleasant service, even the tuk tuk drivers outside of the hotels were friendly and polite. We got the biggest family room and it was new, clean and spacious. Billabong is near Phnom Penh central market and supermarket (Sorya) so it's easy to get anything we want from fresh fruits to snacks, beers, water, etc. When we thought our nephew's mobile phone went missing, the manager met us and really tried to help, turned out it was in the luggage and i was sorry for that but overall they left such a nice impression

Another Fantastic Stay In Phnom Penh ”

peaceful location yet centrally located by central market, the refurbishment and new buildings are in keeping with the old and the fantastc owners and staff.

I have been staying at the Billabong for 6 years now whenever I fly into Phnom Penh. Tucked down a quiet side street, you would never know that you were a stone's throw away fron the Central Market. The small pool is a god send in a country that remains hot all year round irrespetive seasons. The staff are absolutely spot on as are the owners whom I've gotten to know better in recent years. A real city oasis in Phnom Penh.

Lovely hotel with good pool~”

Nice, relaxing pool / Good location ~ close to the Central Market

We had a lovely stay at the Billabong Hotel in Phnom Penh. The location was good, only a 5 minute walk away to the Central Market, and the many tuk-tuks that waited outside the hotel entrance made it easy to get anywhere in the city. The pool was really nice to come back to in the hot afternoons...a luxury that a lot of other Phnom Penh hotels didn't have when we were looking for a hotel. Also, price is good, although the hotel isn't too fancy or unique. Breakfast was simple but good, too!

Great service, comfy rooms and fab cocktails!”

Large pool area, comfy beds, great shower!

We only stayed the one night at the Billabong hotel as we were flying to Bangkok the next day. We wished we had chosen to stay a this hotel on our first stay in Phnom Penh. He room was spacious and had a nice comfy bed. The shower was great and everything was spotlessly clean. It was also nice to have a large balcony overlooking the pool. We also ate dinner here which was pretty good, although a bit more pricey than other places we'd been in PP. Their cocktails are spot on :-) We enjoyed our stay!

I have been to Phnom Penh several times, and very much enjoy this vibrant city. I have a lots of friends close by,so the location of The Billabong Hotel was perfect. A good sized pool, with plenty of loungers and chairs to use, with long hours of sun, make it a great oasis away from the hussle and bustle if you would just like to relax. Friendly, and security conscious staff, decent rooms, and nice balconies means i will definitely stay here again, and again.

Fantastic location

Great place to stay. We booked a double standard pool view room which we upgraded on arrival. Pool view room was on second level and very tiny. no problems to upgrade and we were given a cheaper rate for the upgraded room. Location was fantastic, hotel was spotless and staff very helpful. We would definately reccomend The Billabong Hotel and will also stay there on our return to Phnom Penh next year.

Oasis!”

peaceful, lovely and helpful staff, great food options, good pool-side room

The Billabong was a great choice because it was so peaceful - amazing that the bustling city is just outside. We loved our pool-side room, and the pool itself - so refreshing after sojourns into the city. The staff were helpful, friendly and delivered a great service. The breakfasts were delicious. We would certainly recommend the hotel as a great place to stay in Phnom Penh.

Nice stay”

Billabong was one of the first hotels I stayed at when I first visited Cambodia over 10 years ago and they've done a great job at maintaining the premise and keeping things updated. The staff are friendly and helpful and the pool is nice and clean. It's more geared towards backpackers and singles but it's also nice for couples and families. Good location and easy to get to all the attractions Phnom Penh has to offer.

Billabong great for our short stay ”

Pool, comfort and cleanliness of rooms, helpfull staff
A bit off the beaten path

We arrived in Phnom Penh very late and needed to stay only one night until we left for Siem Reap the next morning. The hotel was welcoming and staff were ready for us even at midnight. The staff at the reception/pool were available well into the night when we had luggage issues and needed phone numbers and other assistance to resolve. The wifi worked great. We loved our third floor balcony overlooking the pool, and a morning swim was just the right way to start our first day. Overall, we found the hotel to be a good value and we will certainly stay again the next time we're in Phnom Penh, which will be a longer visit.

Love this hotel and stayed here many times on uor trips to Phnom Penh.Location is fantastic, close to main shopping centre and central market and other major tourist attractions like Royal Palace,Silver Pagoda etc.Only short tuk-tuk ride to riverfront with main restaurants and many eating places and bars to choose from. The rooms are a good size, clean and tidy and the bed and pillows very comfortable.A/C works well and also has overhead fans which we appreciated. Wi Fi worked well in the room and surrounding grounds. The swimming pool is a good size and surrounding areas are beautiful and very much appreciated after the days activities are finished. Staff and in particular Gaga at reception were extremely friendly, polite and helpful with a very good attitude.Food was good and breakfast was good with many options.Would highly recommend this hotel to any travelling to Phnom Penh. Peaceful place to stay”

I've been coming to The Billabong for 10 years now. The rooms have improved and the ambience pleasant. I had no time to use the pool this visit; but the garden is a refuge from the busy city nearby The change of name to "Billabong Hotel and Hostel" implies a change of ownership since I last stayed there a year ago. It seems cheaper in price too. The food and drink prices have dropped; but the food choice and taste was disappointing in many ways. The Buffet Breakfast was OK, the Asian food was tastier than the Western offerings. I've had better F+B in other Hotels in the City but provided the room prices stay the same I'll stay here again.

All round great hotel”

I felt so relaxed and comfortable. The pool was very comfy and the DVD player in room a bonus especially for a longer stay or when jet-lagged.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and was disappointed that I had booked elsewhere (for a change of scenery) on my return trip. Will return to stay at the Billabong whenever my travel takes me back to Phnom-Penh(which may be soon if I decide to apply for a job.)
