Located in the vibrant and culturally diverse suburb of Bayswater, this hotel offers good value in a notoriously expensive city. While London isn't the cheapest place to visit, Blakemore Hyde Park Hotel is proof that a good deal can still be found in a nice neighborhood with a unique urban vibe of its own. A 10-minute walk from Paddington Station and only five minutes from Bayswater tube, the hotel is well connected by train and bus with both the main shopping of Oxford Street and Heathrow Airport around 15 minutes away. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are within walking distance as is a swathe of interesting restaurants and pubs. The hotel's own bar and lobby are also popular places of commune, offering a cozy space in which to congregate for afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks.
The property has just completed a full renovation to the restaurant and main reception/lobby area. This newly refurbished hotel now resembles a more luxurious 4-star property with all the 5-star trimmings including gold tinted marble flown in from Italy and all furniture hand-crafted to create a unique space to relax and unwind. The check-in process is made easy as guests are welcomed in with the fragrant scent of fresh Jasmine then shown to the seated check-in desk where porters are on hand to assist with luggage. The Terrace Restaurant houses a stunning conservatory style seating area with floor to ceiling windows, a creative cocktail bar and a beautiful terrace to enjoy some al fresco dining in the summer months.

Loved staying at the Blakemore. Right across from Hyde Park and a short walk to the tube. Very easy to get around. Wasnt able to eat at the hotel but there was plenty enough around and all within walking distance. We had left something behind in the room which couldnt be located after checking out which was a shame but would definitely stay again.
This was a great hotel just enough distance on foot away from the hustle and bustle of Paddington Station. The Blakemore is located on a quieter road opposite a small garden and 5 minutes walk from Kensington Gardens. I would have liked to give the hotel 5 out of 5 however we both found the room uncomfortably warm despite the thermostat stating 18 degrees, cool air was not coming out! The contents of my makeup bag do not melt at 18 degrees!...they were struggling in the heat. Some one from reception came to have a look but was unable to assist stating that this was the winter setting for the floor and it could not be adjusted. A selection of restaurants were within walking distance of the hotel or the hotel restaurant served pleasant food. Buffet breakfast was pleasant.
Lovely find and good value”
This was a great find at a very good price - as building work is going on. It didn't affect us at all. The staff are lovely and very helpful. I love the location. It's in a very upmarket area and was fantastic for the tube and for walking in Hyde Park. Great breakfast too. Recommended
The Staff were helpful & friendly, Hotel is in an amazing area close to Hyde Park and we felt very safe in the area. Rooms are amazing and breakfast has a wide selection of quality foods.
Thought it was absolutely perfect for mine and my boyfriends night away for his birthday! I was a bit weary about London prices but it was such a nice hotel and room! We had the club room which was better than I imagined. Lovely location as well! Will defo be going back if I need somewhere nice to stay in London for a celebration etc.
It all depends on the staff! ”
We travelled overnight to London from Qatar and were exhausted when we dropped our bags. A rather officious receptionist told us to return to check in after 3. We returned at 12:30 - too tired and cold to do anything but sit in the lobby and wait. She did nothing to try and accommodate us early and only checked us in at 2:30 because I went to her and asked if our room was ready. The only other problem with this hotel is the lift - there is only one and it's slow. You feel like you spend so much time standing waiting for it to either arrive or depart. The free internet is also rather dodgy - intermittent at best. Other than this we had a very comfortable stay with wonderful food and a good location.
Honey Mooners from China”
As an Aussie now living in Beijing China, my new wife & I had spent a week with my family in Wales for Christmas, NY with friends in Yorkshire. So to Finalise a great trip the Hotel was a prefect choice. Usually my trips back home to Wales are business rather than pleasure so to spend quality time with family at a special time of year and to have our marriage blessed at Llandaff Cathedral was perfect. But would like to thank the Blakemore and there staff for making our honeymoon complete
Great location and super clean”
A lovely stay at the Blakemore Hotel, spacious room, clean and the staff were very helpful.
Nice rooms and facilities ”
We stopped here as we wanted to go to Hyde park winter wonderland. Great location, clean and modern rooms. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly
Building Site not Hotel”
Horrified to see that this previously fine hotel has now been reduced to B & B status with very limited facilities due to a major refurbishment which has seriously over-run & probably won't be complete before Xmas although the hotel staff suggested 6 weeks. Currently old reception area lobby & bar stripped out and rubbish and fittings piled outside - now no dining or room service facilities, temporary bar in side room with very limited selection and some lifts out of service. Met other equally disappointed residents who like us had no idea the Hotel was continuing to operate under such conditions. Why was nothing advised on your website - I would certainly have not booked this Hotel had I known and I consider that I paid good money for inferior accommodation. Having said that we were only booked in for two nights & the room provided was clean & spacious and the staff were doing their best and kept apologising for the mess the Blakemore (signage currently removed) was in.
Good hotel in quiet Hyde Park Neighborhood”
The hotel is clean, good size rooms, and in a quiet neighborhood about 10 to 12 minutes walk from the nearest subway station (Underground/Metro) as well as restaurants, shops, bars, cafes and so on. The hotel staff is friendly, but most do not speak proper English so communicating at times, esp over the phone can be challenging. The price is also rather high for what you get, and there are many, more inexpensive hotels in the area. Overall a good stay. One tip, if your looking to take a taxi to the airport or anywhere really, I strongly suggest just going out onto the street and taking a standard London taxi. If you ask the hotel to call you a taxi, it will be with one of their contacts, which is an independent driver and not a taxi. I'm sure the hotel concierge gets a cut of this drivers fair. Take the Underground subway as much as you can if possible. Its great, somewhat cheap and easy to navigate.
Very nice hotel in a good location!”
The room was a good size for London central and very modern. Nice big comfortable bed. Amazing shower! The reception area was impressive and the gym had everything you needed for a quick work out. Did feel a bit "caught out" when we learned that our breakfast was continental only and there would be an extra charge to consume any of the hot food. I do think the receptionists could have shown more of an interest and offered more help. As we were visiting nobody asked us if we needed directions or recommendations etc. Nobody wished us fair well when we left. But in saying that I would definitely recommend this hotel. We had a lovely stay.
Honestly it was great”
After reading reviews I was definitely put off and kept thinking it’s going to be horrible, but as soon as I got there, the entrance was lovely and it didn’t take too long to check in, room was clean and building was very peaceful! No nuisance whatsoever. Lots of delivery food options in the area too! And friendly staff members❣️ I would recommend this place for couples
Blakemore - Good hotel”
Whilst it is undergoing some major renovation work to ground floor and basement the hotel is doing a good job at ensuring the inconvenience to guests is kept to a minimum. Staff are helpful courteous and friendly. When finished there will be a hotel of high quality. Our room was very comfortable, beds comfortable and no noise.
Could have been a “5/5””
Great location and helpful staff. Rooms were generous size (large for London) and the bed was really comfortable Only negatives were some additional noise due to renovations and issues regarding the lift function
Nice Hotel and Lovely stuff with barely no WiFi in the room”
We had the executive room, nice size huge bad (a little bit too soft) The stuff are lovely and helpful. The WiFi is horrible, assume that there is no WiFi in the room. But since we had a phone with a local plan, we didn't use the hotel WiFi. The location is in nice neighborhood it's quiet. There is 3 tube options all are about 10 min walk, it's perfect for most seasons except winter. The breakfast is continental and extra 5.5 pounds for full english breakfast (eggs, beans and bacon) Over all this is really a nice option and good value for money
Quieter location in London”
Well located near parks, bus and tube and shops and cafes. Quieter location that means a bit more tube travel but overall great location.
Nice hotel but out of the way location. Yes it’s on Hyde Park but the far north west corner away from everything. Very tiny rooms and many quirks for an upscale hotel such as hangars that cannot be removed from rod, hairdryer permanently attached to desk so it can’t be used in bathroom, Hvac which could not be controlled within the room. Maintenance marginal. Could be good with better management. Concierge was amazing but all his hard work couldn’t overcome this hotel’s shortcomings
Very clean and well designed.”
excellent! very well placed at north of St James park and wonderful building architecture.
good breakfast ”
pros: -breakfast with a lot of choices, but starting time is 7am. would be better if it started earlier to accommodate those who need to get out early. -clean room -attentive staff cons -late check in time of 3PM (even if we asked at 1:30pm, the room wasn't ready yet) -no elevator on the lobby floor, so if you have big luggage, you have to carry them up/down the stairs (although u could ask the staff to help u) -no toothbrush/toothpaste set, the staff asked me to buy it myself down the street (still can't believe why a 4 star hotel don't have these in each room!
