The hotel is located approximately ~3kms from the town center. There are a lot of stairs and in our case very steep and narrow staircase in our room. The kitchenette does have a microwave and a few utensils. However, the knife provided was unable to cut meat. The breakfast was very basic. Oatmeal, corn flakes or suger-coated flakes. Fruit was a chopped affair with cherries on offer. Lots of pastries. Scrambled eggs, sliced meat and a cheese. I didn't see any ramps for anyone with a mobility issue. The only bright spot is Ezekiel who was quite responsive to our needs, but other staff were not so customer centered (eg we asked the night before for a to-go breakfast, fruit a Croissant but were met with a couple of cakes from the day before. And this 15 minutes before breakfast was to be served) . The grounds are nicely kept with lavender in bloom.. Our last night there the heat was unavailable. The window props didn't function, so we had to use a spoon to keep the window propped open. I could go on but I think you get the picture. Lively view, 1 good staffer and a building that needs an update

The hotel is beautiful. It has a picturesque view of the lake as it is situated on a hill. Staff is amazing and helpful especially Exequiel at the front desk. The kitchen staff accomodated us even if it was very early. The cleaning staff replaces our towels and organizes our bed daily. It did not matter to us that it is quite far from the center as all the tours we booked picked and dropped us off at the hotel. El Calafate is a dream come true. We truly enjoyed our stay and the weather cooperated and were able to experience the gorgeous lakes, glaciers and the mountain. Thanks.
Hotel is pretty far away from the city centre and it is not so possible to walk. Instead, a one way trip taxi down to the city will cost you ARS100 (USD 7). Another ARS100 to come back. Rooms are also pretty old but I think there are some refurbished rooms. But we especially like the high ceiling lobby overlooking the lake, extremely nice during sunset.

Great hotel. Amazing views and solid rooms. We had a car so drive to restaurants in the town. A good 40min walk if not. Amazing reception and free hot tub overlooking the lakes.
