TRANQUILITY SEEKERS.....”

This is a great location for people who love quite and tranquility..... We arrive in San Vicente Airport never realize that this place is a boat ride away... if you call the Blue Cove staff.. (you can ask around and have them call them)… people on this little town are very kind and friendly … they pick us up for P1200 each way... so if you are budget conscious... try to stay in the San Vicente proper... boat ride get pricey because this place is new... but if you go to Port Barton... is more a happening place and more hotel to go beach to swim and restaurants.... but be cautious.... there are people out there money hungry... so ask around and try to do your research before you come to this place.... But there are honest people too... if you leave from San Vicente to El Nido..... from the airport.. is only P400.00 but if you leave from Port Barton which is farther from El Nido is P600.00 (which we were told its only P400 before we took the boat ride for another P1000 … it adds up

Perfect for relaxing! ”

We (3 Person) stayed in the blue cove for 5 nights, because the Place is beautiful and the people who are working there are really lovely! If you want to go there you've to take a boat from Port Barton (max.1200p.B 30min). When you arrived they'll give you a coconut as a welcome drink. :) The manager ist well organised and helps you to make your stay unforgettable-just ask! You can rent a Kajak or snorkelling equipment for free! The island offers a lot of activities. For example: Snorkelling, fishing, hiking, volleyball, billiard and if you want to go somewhere else they can bring you to different islands. The bungalows are clean, beds are comfortable and with mosquito net. The food was good and if you want something special they are going to buy it from the town for you! Highly recommended!

Your own tropical island”

Location, friendly staff, restaurant

We spend three nights at Blue Cove Tropical Island and had a nice time. The rooms are very basic (could maybe use some extra storage space), the temperature of the shower is one temperature fits all which is ok during warm days but can be a bit chilly on colder days. The food they offer is good, it's a great place for snorkelling and we can recommend the island hopping tour. Beware of the currents when you want to go paddling with the small kayak.

Amazing location, peaceful and relaxing”

We loved our stay here it was an amazing experience staying on this remote island. The huts were average size, comfortable beds and private bathroom. Same standards as elsewhere in Philippines really. Cold water as expected, one night it was actually warm. To the people saying the food was expensive - maybe by one dollar / 50p? So not sure the concern about this. Plus the food portions were very large, 2 huge pancakes for breakfast and also big plate for mains. All were nice. I would say this place could be a lot better if maybe the owner invested more into it, as lovely as our host was I felt like no one had actually taken the time to train him - he has huge potential! I wish we could have organised island hopping trips from the island direct too, as for us to do it from port Barton to the island was to expensive (6000 pso), this was a shame. Overall value for money this place is excellent I would definetly recommend staying here for a couple nights if coming to port Barton.

The resort is tranquil quiet relaxing an very quiet. Not so easy to swim as very rocky .”

Only place to swim properly is were the boat is moored. Only place to eat an drink is at this resort an it’s very limited an pricey. Stays of couple of nights no problem but we stayed 14 nights an the menu was very limited an very often your choice was not available. Electricity was only on between 6/11 pm so impossible to sleep properly as so hot. Silly as fans were useless. WiFi was awful as no electricity an only limited use at reception area as mostly it wasn’t connected up. Small beer 80/85 chicken fried rice 290 an at 66 pesos to the £ was expensive. Would still say fantastic holiday but needs wake up call or think it willclose down like all the others on this island. We were the only guests for 10/14 nights. Great for us but not for business. Think more choice in food / fish / electricity on all night from 6 an prices more reasonable an could do well. At present won’t attract the young backpackers as to expensive for them an most people want fan on at night

Beautiful Spot - Could have more sources of entertainment.”

We stayed at Blue Cove for 3 nights. We had a great time and the location is beautiful! We found, however, by the last day that we had sort of exhausted all of the things to do. The food is a little pricier because everything has to be boated in and the boat ride to and from the island does add some cost. David and Angel, the managers, were great and very attentive, however the rooms were not cleaned or restocked during our stay. Food was delicious.

Blue Cove May 2015”

Ideally situated, nice staff, good food

We had a great stay, the beach is quiet and beautiful, the staff very nice and helpful, they took us on a hike through the island and organised boat and fishing trips, and even a goodbye bonfire the night before we left! Angel cooked us very appetizing meals with vegan options. The archipelago is paradise: desert islands, clear green waters, silence... Ideal place to rest and live a wonderful experience in close contact with nature. Plenty of time for books and snorkeling.

Beautiful, peaceful, simple ”

The location is great, and the accommodations are basic and cheap. Electricity only runs in the evening for a few hours, so it gets hot in the rooms at night after the power goes out, but otherwise we had a great experience. Helpful staff and relaxing stay on a secluded part of a beautiful island. This is great for budget travelers.

Beautiful if basic beach huts on a beautiful beach with great Philippino food (cooked as spicy as you like which was great). This place has a two edged sword.”

Food was expensive an often very little choice. Chicken fried rice cup full 295 pesos, small plate french fries 200. Most other meals 360 / 340. Surrounded by seas full of fish but only got fish 5 days out of 14. Even though asked every day. No electricity except between 6pm an 11pm, so impossible to sleep in the heat. Fridges don’t work without electricity so chicken an pork not an option as I was I’ll with it. Having said all that it was a gem in other ways. Quiet, peaceful, unspoilt , lots wildlife, good staff , 3/4 hour from main land. No roads to go fisherman’s village a hike up to top of the island through the jungle an climb over rocks an through other bays. Come back on a fishing boat. Enjoyable for few days but not up to long stays as nowhere else to drink or eat. It’s the only place to stay on the island so they have the monopoly.

Secluded ”

If you want to be away from crowds of Port Barton, this place will be ideal since it's in Albaguen Island, about 45mins by boat from Port Barton. Electricity is 6hrs/day but I heard you can pay for extra if you wish. Not much food choices here, you will be stuck with the food in the resort restaurant, though I can't say it was bad. Exploring the village is quite a challenge as we trekked the mountain. Staff was very accommodating and I guess we came at a bad time when there were many seaweeds in the shore. It was just disappointing to see so much garbage in the beach area which I'm sure were left by other guests (bottle containers, plastic etc).

Great views, beautiful cove, could be amazing but needs a lot of work to be up to standard.”

The location is breathtaking, the cove is stunning and waking each morning to the sun rise is amazing! However, when we arrived there was no food, no beers and no water - the man who was running the Blue Cove asked us for money so he could go an buy in supplies for our 3 day stay. Unfortunately, this happened again 1 day later! We stayed in a beach hut, with no running water, electricity for only 3 hours a day, no wifi and really the hut was completely run down. Which was not made clear when we booked. It's such a pity, because this cove is stunning and the staff are friendly- I think with a bit of love and care this could become a stunning resort, but at the moment it's more of a run down cheap end beach stay.

Quiet Location, Beautiful Scenery

The location of this resort is beautiful. The cabins are very basic with old deocor and hard, less than comfortable bed and pillows. Though we paid for an a/c hut the electricity only stays on for a few hours at night, so it's not really worth it. For a quiet few days away this is a very nice resort, take a few books as there's not much to do here. The staff were very helpful and took us on a little hike of the island.

Pros: staff was friendly, the island is beautiful and food was good. Cons: we had a cockroach in our bed on arrival, food available was only chicken and vegetables (no fish, no pork: half of the menu), bungalow wasnt great as it was leaking in our room and in our bed one evening! Finally, our shower was not working so we had to use the bungalow nearby. The management really need to do something with this place as it is falling apart! Fortunately, staff was great and friendly!
