“Could have been great, but ended on a low note”
We stayed here for 5 nights + 2 nights (our flight got cancelled so we opted to stay 2 more nights) We requested for a room with window where there is sunlight (note that their rooms have windows facing the corridor, not outside, so some rooms can be dim lit. They only have 1 room that has a window facing sunlight. If you are particular with this, call them). Our check in date is Aug 31, I called June 28/29 to make sure we secure a room with sunlight. They guaranteed that we will have this room. I also noted this in my Agoda booking. I also called them a day before just to confirm again my request for the room. But then when we arrived, the room shown to us was different. I told them that I requested this. I was please how they handled this situation. They apologized, told us that they were not able to note the request and the only room with sunlight as given to another guest who's not checking out anytime soon. COMMENDABLE To remedy this, they upgrade our room. Although it still doesn't have window with sunlight, they moved us to a bigger room with one more extra bed, and with tables and chairs. The window was facing the corridor but it has another window in the said corridor so there's still sunlight that can enter. We accepted this. They handled this situation very well and I expressed our appreciation and thanks to this. THINGS TO NOTE • Their rooms do not have a window facing sunlight - there windows are facing the corridor, then there's another window on the said corridor. (They only have 1 room where there's a window facing sunlight) Therefore not all rooms will have good sunlight, some will really be dim. I noticed that 4th floor rooms have the best chance at this. If you are particular with this, you need to call and tell them in advance and have it written in your booking via Agoda. There is a possibility that they might miss this if the agreement is only done via call. • They have Wifi but we always have a hard time connecting to it, so we just opted to use our data. If you need to still work, your data can be used. However, for zoom meetings, you may have connection issues because of the signal even when using your own data. I just turned off my cam so my workmates can still hear me without breaking. • They have a really nice working area on the top floor (4th floor) overlooking the sea and mountains. We really liked this area. Cleanliness of this can be improved since it smelled like there's dust accumulated on the decorations on the ceiling. THE FLOP PART On our last night, around 12am - 1am, our room started smelling like sewage (imburnal), therefore we can't sleep. We checked the toilet, our things, and we can't find where it's coming from. We went to the reception area (there are no receptionists, only a guard) and reported it. He said that there's a maintenance happening with the sewage, so he just gave us a lemon room spray. The smell still won't go away and we can't sleep so we kindly requested if there are other rooms we can sleep on that doesn't have the sewage smell. The guard called 1 receptionist (since there's no receptionist on duty. I am assuming she may be the head). It was on loud speaker and her response was where we got really disappointed. She said "hanggang bukas nalang naman sila" (they will checkout tomorrow anyway). And there's no one to assist us with the transfer even though there are still available rooms we can sleep on. We understand that it was in the middle of the night so she may have been a bit unsettled, but we were upset with the response that since we are checking out tomorrow (thus we are only staying for "a couple more hours"), we felt like our concern was disregarded. If the sewage smell doesn't go away, we will then have to endure that for the next 8 hours. And if we were not able to sleep well, then we will be very groggy and tired traveling back. So for us, it's not really something that can simply be tolerated because we are checking out anyway. Luckily, the s
