Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort is the only hotel on beautiful Sumilon Island and is ideal for an undisturbed and relaxing getaway. Spread over 24 hectares, the hotel is surrounded by clear blue waters and has direct access to a white sand beach as well as an adjoining coral reef beach. The on-site restaurant is great for a full four-course dinner or just a quick meal while the hotel also features a library for a leisurely afternoon reading. There are a host of fun activities for guests including picnics on the beach or aboard boats, fishing, hiking, and snorkeling. The resort also arranges for island hopping and cave tours on request.
"Staff very good."

Love, secluded, friendly staff, a bit expensive”
We had a great stay for our 5th anniversary on Sumilon Island. For a day trip, I'm not convinced that it is worth the effort, but if you stay at least one night, you'll have enough time to do all the island activities and you will experience the island free from boatloads of day visitors. Book well in advance though. The dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent, and it is clear that they make a ton of money from the drinks. You are not allowed to bring any drinks/food onto the island (we had a special bottle of champagne (for our anniversary) that I dragged around for two weeks that we had to leave behind at the port). Expect to pay about 3 to 4 times the normal amount for any drinks (local beers, cocktails etc) on the island. Apart from that, everything was great. Pros: Great staff, big rooms, gorgeous infinity pool, good food, good massages Cons: Day visitors, expensive drinks
Happy first time glamper”
I had never been in a glamorous tent before and was a bit hesitant about the shared bathroom but we were lucky and had the whole camping site to ourselves. It was still a bit weird to get out of the tent and walk across the camping ground whenever we had to brush our teeth or go to the bathroom. But it is as worth it. The glamping area is actually the most secluded area of the resort which is on an exclusive part of the island. We saw the sunrise from our tent and had a very nice romantic dinner under the stars. The staff went above and beyond: very nice honeymoon setup in the tent and very attentive to our dietary requests. Simulon island is one of the places we chose to splurge on in the Philippines and despite (or maybe because of) the daytours on both sides of the island staying overnight makes a huge difference. Most importantly you have the sandbar to yourself after 5pm to take really nice sunset pics. Snorkeling was exceptional in the marine sanctuary and the baby shark feeding was a nice surprise. The view from the infinity pool was also a plus. All in all a really wonderful stay even if it’s a bit far from Cebu city and Moalboal Ps: don’t be put off by the number of people on the boat ride to the island. The tourists aren’t as invasive as you’d think, as long as you avoid the sandbar during peak hours.
Amazing secluded resort experience, felt like I was in Maldives”
Pros: Amazing private resort, great for couples and families Infinity pool is picture perfect 3 jacuzzis with seaview are bonus Spacious and clean rooms Crystal clear blue water all around Decent amount of resort activities (biking, trekking, lagoon, scuba diving, shark feeding, snorkeling, massage, etc) Amazing food at the restaurant Amazing staff, my friend was proposing on New Year’s Eve and all staff and the band went extra miles to help my friend to make it the best memory ever (check the video on their facebook!) Cons: Location is a bit far, about 3-4 hours from Cebu City plus 15mins boat ride (with fixed schedule) There are day tour people coming onto the island, so they will use some of the beach area and facilities, some trash were left on the sandbar and surrounding water Maybe better with one extra bar/lounge option instead of just one
Everything is perfect, the staff are so helpful, polite, kind, friendly , We would like to come back soon. We are so satisfied
Perfect honeymoon night”
We booked a room for the honeymoon night and absolutely felt great here. Sumilon has made me feel like Cebu more than ever. The service staff is very enthusiastic and hardworking. I experience a lot of services here such as feeding fish, kayaking, swimming, ... however, because of the weather, I cannot watch the coral and the staff promised to check the massage service package. But no employee responded. All services on the island are great and I hope to come back here soon. Thank you!
Pros - Spacious clean room - Stay included all activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boating, trail cycling, trail trekking. - All food and beverages in the mini bar was included in the stay - Staff were accommodating and helpful Cons - Almost missed the boat transfer to the island because we were not informed earlier that it might be affected due to weather. The front desk lady told us that notifications were sent out but we did not receive anything. Nonetheless, we managed to catch a transfer into the island. - Buffet dinner spread can be improved, some of the appetizers were a tad cold right from the start of the buffet
Great resort...staff exceptional 👍👍👍”
Cons...you have to sail to and from the island. A bit scary if the weather is bad. Price is stiff. Pros...staff very good. Can’t do enough for their guest. They are the reason why Sumilon resort is a success!
Staffs is friendly, clean everywhere, great place to relax
Amazing and Perfect Staycation at Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort”
My family stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. Everything was perfect right from checkin til' checkout. The room was very clean and spacious and it was a short walking distance from the restaurant which offered the most delicious buffet. The boat ride was short and hassle-free. The beachfront was just like what I expected. The sandbar was divine. The waters are crystal clear and the scenery is exquisite. The place is really magical. This is really heaven on Earth! I would highly recommend this resort to my friends. Thank you much. We will definitely be coming back.
Money Well Spent at this Cebu Island Parandise”
Very attentive staff, large spacious rooms, well equipped facilities for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay on the island. The food has significantly improved since my last visit so many years back
Perfect island, beaches and rooms”
Wonderful beaches. Great breakfast. Very big new rooms and big bathroom. A staff on his way to work (still off duty) helped us with our luggage, as we got off the same bus from the main road, and carried it down the slope and all the way to the island. Tho slightly pricy given its so remote from Cebu city and airport (around 3hrs drive..), but definitely worthy experience.
I enjoyed my stay at the resort. It was very beautiful! The staff were extremely helpful even giving me medicine since I came with a bad allergy. Might be useful to have some food with you as the food can get pricey and theres no access to food outside the resort. The rooms were spacious and modern. Picture perfect at every point! I would definitely go back if given the chance!
Improved Champing Adventure”
We enjoyed for two nights the large tent - glamping - at the beach. Our two children had the greatest fun there. To our surprise the price included three meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner - per day, and the chef always prepared for lunch and dinner a three course menu. We hardly could eat all. It was a great adventure on the island beside swimming and snorkeling in the clear water.
A too short holiday in a wonderful location”
We enjoyed, unfortunately for only 3 days, the very nice resort and its amenities. We where two families with three children and booked the family villa. To our surprise the two villas, side by side with spacious rooms in individual houses, had their own little pool. Our kids had the greatest fun there. The island resort was not overcrowded and so we could enjoy the peace and quietness of the beached. We as well enjoyed the beaches with the crystal clear waters, great for snorcheling. The food served was sufficient and excellently presented. Especially with our children the staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful. We certainly will return again.
the location and the accomodation are great, too bad that the food is not up to par. Too expensive and not according to the menu that they provide, ingredients are lacking, fruits are missing from breakfast ... if they would improve the kitchen, it would be really great
Sumilon is heaven on earth. We really enjoyed our stay in one of their villas. Very nice and quiet surroundings. There'a a lot of activities you can do. It's near the oslob whale shark watching site and tumalog falls. We'll sure come back. Daghang salamat sumilon :)
very beautiful island resort”
We had a wonderfull room with a superb design with a view direct to the cristal clear water. Snorcheling is excellent and walking around the quite large island is easy on the well maintained paths. The restaurand is only middle class and is lacking in many details. Breakfast buffet was not very delightfull, coffee lousy, no butter available and a very few unripe fruits only. Drinks are overpriced, a beer PP 145 is too expensive in a restaurant of this class. Group travellers may disturb. A La Carte food is ok.
relaxing but unexpected”
Sumilon is known as one of the top destination in Cebu and the price says it all. However when we came there we were dismayed that it was not well kept most especially the rooms. Although its spacious, the room smelled like it was not occupied for months and the toilet bowls of the two rooms we stayed in were not functional. Its sad because the island spelled relaxation and beauty and the Management could have well maintained the rooms as it is considered as the most important area for the guests
It is at the south of Cebu, 2 hours away from Cebu City (by bus). But when you get to Sumilon pier, it's all worth the travel :) The port itself, has a nice, clean and white beach. With your welcome drink, sit, relax while enjoying the view and the breeze. You can swim or take pictures while waiting for the boat to arrive to pick you up (since they have schedule of picking and sending guests to/from Sumilon Island). It's only 15 minutes away from the pier. Then when we finally got to the island, I had an orgasm :D The sandbank... OMG!!! The gorgeous fine white sand, the color of the water from turquoise to dark blue... I thought I was in heaven for a second :P Anyway, I give this resort 5 stars overall :) It was all worth the money, effort and sunblock!!!
Beautiful Blue Waters”
The massage parlor perched on the cliff is fantastic. Enjoyed the cool breeze, therapeutic sounds of waves and the relaxing touches of the masseur. Food was decent, and the cocktails were yummy! Room was very spacious and the verandah was very useful to hang out our diving stuff. Diving around the island was awesome. Saw a whale shark swim past! Too bad the BCD look rather tattered, but otherwise it served its function
