Best beach, great jungle location, great food”

Quiet location, great beach, fabulous food, friendly owners and staff

Bo Resort is more rustic than most places on Phu Quoc. However, the beach seems to be the best of all three resorts on this location. The owners are friendly, the food is probably the best on the island. The bungalow (it was a standard not a deluxe one) was traditional and rustic, yet comfortable. Bo is supposed to have hot water, though we were not able to experience it. But it was just a detail, as we loved staying at this endearing place, not for luxury lovers, but for those who like being closer to nature, and don't mind a little isolation.

    Originel ”

Number one place in Phu Quoc. Quiet beach near and friedly staff. Little high prices. We spend 7 nights in superior beach house no 5 what was best one. 20 meters from beach. There is some rocks in the beach but you can do snorkkeling there and see fishes and seaweeds. 20 minute walk to little village where is lots of good restaurants and by the main road a ATM. From Bo taxi to Duond Dong costs 160 000 dongs. This place is good for people who enjoy little rustic atmosfere and hate plastic touristic places with swimmingpools by the sea. Janne & Susanne

    Nice hotel with great staff”

Good Service, Restaurant food and Private Beach

What I loved about Bo Resort was the staff, from the Resort Manager to the friendly bar staff they were always happy to help and provide great service - and it didn't feel all about the "dollars" like at other places. The private beach is great and it is even more expansive as there is nothing on the right hand side of the resort so the isolated beach strip stretches for ages.. The food at the restaurant was lovely.. The raw fish rice paper rolls were soo good. The rooms are simple with insect canopy to protect you from the bugs at night. All in all a relaxing stay with delightful people on hand to help you make the most of your Phu Qouc trip..

    wonderful stay and great location”

    great food and peaceful location

we had a wonderful stay in this charming resort which has a great location if you want to get away from the hectic city life style. well hidden in the jungle with a very clean beach which isn't the case if you go to the touristic long beach side of the island. bungalows are basic but very authentic and surrounded by a nice garden. food was excellent and price/quality definetly a good deal. nice bar right on the beach which is great for chilling out and watching the sunset. this resort is well managed and customers are received with a personalised and charming service. worth going back one day!

Simple bungalows in wonderful tropical setting”

Small intimate resort with fantastic food and friendly staff

My wife & I stayed 8 days at Bo resort in December. The staff are very friendly but English is a bit of a problem with some of them. The food was great tasting & fresh, however the servings were a little small. Probably a French thing as the owner is French. Breakfast was included & again the quality was excellent but the servings on the small size. You can hire motor bikes from the resort & they are very fairly priced, so no need to go into town & haggle with the locals. The bungalow (we had a beach front) was close to the beach but not too close to the restaurant etc. so it was private & quiet. The hot water is solar, read the instructions - you have to run it for about 5 minutes for the hot to come on. Sometimes the pressure wasn't very good, just a trickle... The bed was the hardest we've ever slept on, so we asked for two of the beach chair foam covers & they fitted the bed really well & made it comfortable. So if you want a more intimate 3 star resort (I think only about 12 or 14 bungalows) which has good food, is reasonably priced & set in a wonderful tropical forest by a nice beach. Then Bo is highly recommended.

    Wish I could go back!”

I really loved Bo Resort. The staff were so nice, the food was gorgeous, and I loved the opportunity to live a bit more Vietnamese, away from air con, and closer to animal life! The insects and lizards have amazing colours! We had fun borrowing the resort's kayak and rowing up and down the bay and even up river near by (when the tide was right - ask the owner about that). It would be nice if there were bikes available to hire - maybe there were and I didn't notice! and maybe a table tennis table? I really liked the isolated location but some more activities on site might be good.

    nice”

Ideal for couples, romantic huts with a lot of fauna and flora outside and also inside - nothing for you if you're scared of lizards, bugs and spiders. The whole resort is very quiet and going to sleep at 10 p.m. which is also the time the gate is closing so you have to wake up the saddest vietnamese guy on the island. All in all its the right mixture of french laidback style and vietnamese nature. I liked it there - would come back (in off-season prices its a bargain, in high season not so much).

The location, on a wooded hillside by the beach, and with plenty of space between the bungalows. Great food, lots of choice. Lovely, friendly, helpful, happy staff.

We spent the Christmas week at Bo - we had a wonderful time doing very little. It's simple but full of character and we loved it - we're now busy working out how to get back there next year.

    Clean beach, nice premises, quiet”

    Remote, quiet, nice staff

Quite remote, very quiet location with a clean patch of beach along the resort’s premises, and a 4 km long stretch of lonely (dirty) beach going further North. Bungalows are scattered uphill, nicely spread over a big forest area and enough distance between them. Staff is nice enough and attentive. Breakfast and food are ok, nothing special for the Asian taste though. “Fresh” juice comes from the bottle/can. We had a the first bungalow uphill, a family bungalow with big bathroom, double and single beds, all with mosquito nets. Room could do with some little additions to make the stay even more comfortable, e.g. some hooks on the wall for hanging things up, a shelf in the room for bags and stuff. A third chair if room is meant for three. Some kind of protection for the beds from being heavily soiled by droppings from the thatched roof (bedding looks terrible with lots of stains that obviously cannot be removed by washing). It just does not feel nice. Management seems a bit lost and not so interested – one would expect to see the manager during the day paying some attention to surroundings, his staff, premises, guests etc. When approached, friendly, but not too knowledgeable about little things like actual prices for transport on the island etc. Despite start of the peak season now, renovation and make-up work on furniture and premises after the rainy/low season has also only just started, making the place slightly shabby and at times noisy during the day. Prices for everything are high (and no alternative close by), which surely can be attributed to the island fact - virtually everything has to be transported from the mainland, the island has no mentionable agricultural products.

Quiet beach, clean rooms, bungalows spread apart so very peaceful

We really liked our stay at bo resort. The rooms are simple but clean with good mosquito netting and alarge bed. It's situated at a beautiful empty beach. You will need to hire a motorbike in order to get around or pay for (relatively expensive taxis) as it is quite remote.

    Awesome remote beach”

    Beach, gardens, remote location

Wonderful beach, hospitable owners and caretakers. Food too expensive-- and you're limited as its a kilometer walk to the nearest (and only other) restaurant, Sakura (which is 1/3 the price and twice the quality). Great remote location to the northern areas of the island- away from the manic energy of Duong Dong. Bo is also located on the longest strip of 'inaccessible' beach, although supposedly there's talk of a golf course coming. Get a beach front room. We stayed during end of low season, so prices were reasonable. All in all, a good spot for the traveller looking for seclusion and easy access to northern adventures, as we were. High season prices would have turned me off.

Beautiful location but not so much service”

The location is beautiful, quiet, away from all the building near Long Beach, the beach is great

The resort claims to be authentic en simple, wellthat's true. For the price we payed, we expected a little more service, for example new bedlinnen (we stayed 4 nights and got none) and a better cleaning of the room. Also nobody really welkomed us or talked to us while we were there, while the owner did talked to the other guests, who were all French, just like here. That didn't made us feel really welcome. Just a small chat at arrival would have been ok. The food is fine, a bit expensive comparing to other places in Vietnam but for an island that's what we expacted.

Rustic retreat, location is the star attraction”

Isolated location, spaced out bungalows, hands-off service, beach great for swimming

basic bungalows are certainly very basoc - rustic nature retreat more than a resort. setting is beautiful, and it is the quality of the other guests rather than the facilities that save this from being a backpacker bungalow resort. service is refreshingly hands-off, which i enjoyed after other places in viet nam. i would have appreciated some drinking water free of charge - they provide 2 small bottles per bunaglow on the first day only. breakfast options were basic, although you could pay for extra features.
