“Amiana vs Boma”
Amiana 4 days I stayed at Boma for 5 days and would like to share my thoughts. [Room Related] Amiana offers standalone rooms, especially the ocean-view rooms near the left wing, which have an excellent view. The atmosphere is great for enjoying a drink in front of the room while listening to the sound of the waves in the evening. Additionally, the significant advantage of being exempt from surrounding noise, which is a major benefit of standalone rooms, is quite impressive. At Boma, I stayed in an *Ocean Pad* type room. It is quieter and more independent compared to regular rooms. While regular rooms are structured like a large resort building tightly packed together, the Ocean Pad rooms are arranged in a structure with four rooms in one building (two on each floor). When viewed independently, it resembles a pension building in Korea. Since it hasn't been open for long, the facilities feel somewhat newer compared to Amiana Resort. However, the noise from adjacent or upper rooms is not well insulated, as I could hear footsteps and faint conversations from the neighboring room. Moreover, the proximity to the sea is significantly reduced. At Amiana Resort, the sea where you can dip your feet is right in front of the room, followed by the swimming pool. At Boma, there is no direct path from the resort to the beach, which seems to be due to the geographical location of being on a cape rather than a beach area. [Service] In terms of service, Amiana and Boma show a significant difference. As previously mentioned, Amiana has standalone rooms spread across a large area. Therefore, there seem to be fewer rooms assigned to each staff member since they are stationed in various areas. The staff seem to remember the guests staying around them quite well and can respond quickly to various requests, and the guests are generally inclined to tip the staff. This structure positively impacts staff morale, creating a virtuous cycle. The staff at Boma Resort are also not significantly lacking in kindness, but overall, they often appear to lack proactivity and show low morale. The most striking experience was at the beach bar. I ordered a simple snack and drink at 10:40, but was told I could only place orders from 11 and the staff left without taking my order. In retrospect, it could have been reasonable to accept my order and inform me it would be a bit delayed, but such a response was not observed. Even when my order was placed, it took over 30 minutes for the food to arrive because the kitchen did not check the order properly. I had to call the staff again to reorder. Additionally, the fact that drinks ordered directly at the beach bar were not made on-site was disappointing compared to Amiana Beach Bar. [Boma Resort New Year’s Eve Dinner and Countdown Party] I decided to spend the last day of 2025 at a party organized by Boma Resort. I applied for both the dinner and the countdown party and wanted to share my feedback about it. Overall, the program, operational planning, fee policy, and system seem to be tailored more for the convenience of the management rather than the guests. The dinner cost was 1.3 million dong per adult, and the countdown party was 600,000 dong. However, the structure is quite strange: Dinner from 7 PM to 10 PM (only food provided) Countdown party from 10 PM to 1 AM (only drinks provided) Then you must order drinks separately during dinner. This structure is bound to feel a bit odd from the guest’s perspective. It appears to have been designed from the management's point of view with little consideration of how guests would perceive this system. Throughout both parties, various performances such as music, songs, fire shows, and dance performances were prepared, but the quality of these performances was at the level of a local school exhibition, very low. While cultural differences may affect the perception of music or performance, the fire shows and dances were of a lower standard than those seen from high school or college students on the streets of Hongdae. I found myself thinking, "What is this? Is this really worth sacrificing the last day for?" I regretted not just enjoying the New Year's Eve party prepared in front of the night market with Heineken or going to a local club instead. The adjacent Alibu Resort party looked more enjoyable even from a distance. It seems that the resort primarily targets family tourists. It appears more suitable for spending vacations with children under 10 or parents in their 60s, but I wouldn’t recommend it to couples or adult travelers without children. [Summary of the Long Review] Amiana Resort has a system designed for the convenience of guests, while Boma Resort has a system designed for the convenience of the management.
